The food and the vibe was amazing. This place has been on my try-out list for a while. My husband & and I finally had some time to check it out. We ordered some michis, a Molcajete and the large prawns & clams recommended by our waitress. We literally took a LONG time deciding on what to order because in the menu looked so freaking good!!. The prawns & clams that Marisela recommended was delicious! Our waitress Marisela was amazing! Overall, this place and location sucks! Save your time and money. Went in there with a party to celebrate - 10 people total. The staff didn't understand we wanted a table(s) for 10 people. The server didn't seem too enthused to work or serve us; like we were putting her out of her way and didn't bother checking in on us. We were served chips, salsa and refried beans. The beans and salsa were served in containers the size of shot glasses. We asked for more chips later and we were told we'd have to pay since the first serving is complementary - who the hell does that?! The food was average, but overpriced - although I will say they do have good rice and beans. Check your bill before you pay. Even though we all requested separate checks, the server tipped herself and included the gratuity in the bill. Real presumptuous of her since the service sucked. NEVER GOING BACK! read more

The place is good but for being my first time was not pleasant. I asked for a pescado Sarandeado and although the fish has to have scales this one was on every bite and the fish wasn't fully cooked. Waited for more than an hour for this and walked out right away. The mojarra was so greasy the only good thing was my soda. We've driven by this location countless of times; but never had the chance to actually try it. Unfortunately for us, we finally tried it. They do offer free parking in a lot adjacent to the restaurant. You walk along the street to the front. Once you enter - you'll have to wait and hope one of the employees notice you to be seated. We went during the Dia De Muertos festival in downtown. So I am not sure if they are use to this amount of traffic or if it was just an off day for the chef and servers. Food was flavorless. Oysters are not fresh. The best thing we had was the free chips and salsa and the bottled beer. The service? There wasn't any. Besides taking our order and flagging her down to pick up the oysters - she never came to check on us. * DISCLAIMER - I was not charged for the oysters, but that was after having to deal with the server trying to teach me how to eat oysters and the owner wasting 20 mins of my time trying to blame his supplier for the lack of freshness and flavor. And to top it all off... if you thought you were going to dinner to enoy the company of those you came with; think again. I was really craving mariscos and unfortunately this just was not it.... I ordered the tostada de ceviche and I couldn't stomach more than a few bites. The fish itself tasted like it was marinated in artificial lime juice, the artificial taste was so strong that even after putting a lot of hot sauce it was still too much to handle. My boyfriend had the mojara frita which he did enjoy. The service here was also not the best, the person waiting on us was rude and inattentive. We ended up chit chatting for a good time. She recommend I come back on Saturdays for the live performances. Honestly I really want to. I ordered the fried fish and WOW! The flavor and quality was so mesmerizing. I mean I go to my local mex place back in Azusa and this doesn't compare. Went in on a Saturday around 11am. Place was not full so our party of 3 was seated quickly. They started us off with individual bowls of sopa de fideo which replaced the usual chips and salsa. This was new to us and a great way to start. Foods we had: The fideo.. Tacos gobernador Quesabirria tacos Enchiladas de mole Coctel de Camaron, Pulp, Ostion I enjoyed the tacos Gobernador and the mole was good though the rice tasted old and had more veggies than rice.. Once we placed our orders we kind of never saw our waitress again. She was busy with tables outside. No one else bothered to check in on us though they saw drinks were empty at the edge of the table. SUPER overpriced and I live in OC where everything is expensive. it was ~$160 for 3 of us not including tip. *Note: Drink prices are not on the menu. Weird.
