I was skeptical because I found them on craigslist. I should have just paid more for a better company. Sure they were very quick and were able to fit all my stuff in one truck, but not everything made it to the final destination in one piece. I had a 40 piece collection of beer steins,(they were wrapped and packaged very well by myself) all shattered, all of my brand new furniture had scrapes and dents in it covered up by black sharpie marker, and they broke my boxspring mattress and the frame to my bed. It was a horrible experience and I would never EVER recommend them to anyone!!! I wish I could get my money back for damages they caused. read more

I want to be fair and honest about this review so I am going to start with the positive and also say that the owner, Izzy, did try to resolve the issues. I wish he and his assistant had been the ones to move me, since their reviews were so stellar. I'm writing this so that someone else does not experience the same problems. - They were on time / early. - The two movers were friendly. - The truck seemed clean. - The correspondence with the owner was prompt and informative. - The rates were competitive. - They did complete the move in one trip. - They did bring it to my attention when something was damaged before moving it. - The owner was fair and helpful in trying to resolve what I'm about to say... Unfortunately, my negative experience with this company outweighs any of the above. The movers showed up early set up the truck while the other walked through my apartment. We were good to go. They were polite.I was previously quoted 3-4 hours for the move of an upper one bedroom/one office to a one bedroom less than a mile away. I explained that the only large appliance I had was a barbeque. My furniture included a bed, a couch, a chair and ottoman, a coffee table, various accent tables, a chest, dining room table and four chairs and a dresser. The rest of my items were framed artwork, lamps or boxed belongings. The only items that needed to be disassembled were my table and my bed. The items in my "office" were actually the dining room table and dresser. No office equipment. Four hours later, the truck was still being packed up, which is when I got on the truck and started helping myself. As items were removed from the house, I had to stop and ask them to cover them. For a small item, I can understand, but I was asking them to wrap things that were obviously fragile and expensive (painting, a brand new table). I had anxiety watching some of the things go into the truck unprotected. As we got closer to finishing, I walked through the apartment and found that they had missed a wicker chest of drawers in the closet and the barbeque. I had to remind them. They were polite about missing the items, but it didn't seem that there was room in the truck. When they brought the wicker chest down, they took the drawers out to make the piece fit. They weren't wrapped or covered, and when we arrived at the new place my items were falling out and being walked on (underwear, embarrassing)! As for the barbeque, they set it down with muddy rollers on the carpet of my old apartment. It's heavy and awkward, I get it... but yikes. They removed my TV from the wall bracket. They never did remove the brackets. I came back for all of the cords. The last straw for me was when I asked them for the wardrobe boxes. Izzy and I had discussed this prior to the move. Per their website, we were "planning ahead". They did not have any, even though I was told this would be no problem. Maybe they weren't provided with them? They had plastic wrap but hardly used it. Their solution to the wardrobe was putting all of the clothes in a blanket and taping it closed. It was later explained to me by Izzy that those boxes can be cumbersome and take more time....seems unprofessional, which is the word I would use to describe my overall experience. Once we arrived at the new apartment, things went pretty quickly. I noticed things were damaged and took photos both on and off the truck. I brought them to the attention of the movers. They called Izzy. Izzy called me. We discussed the problems. He was apologetic and fair, but stood by his movers and their experience. He explained that there may have been more in my apartment than anticipated if the truck was at capacity. I have a lot of stuff. But, you pay by the hour and not the number of boxes you have. If this was a problem, the movers should have called Izzy at the time of the walk through or even explained the same to me. Or, maybe the company should consider seeing a location if there is any doubt. Anyway, I explained what was happening and how I should have never been on that truck working. He apologized. He offered to come out and inspect the furniture and put things back together later in the week. He also offered to install a door that I was going to pay the movers to install originally. I'm glad I passed. We compromised on the moving rate, so at least I was within my budget, which was fair and generous. Again, Izzy was kind throughout the complaint. I still tipped the movers. I realize that moving is not easy or painless. They did work hard. It just wasn't what I was expecting, even at a lower cost. I called this moving company last minute after having a terrible time with the customer service at Starving Students. I called on a Saturday afternoon and they came out at 7am the following day. The two guys who moved us did a great job of moving it all in 3 hours. They worked efficiently and didn't waste time. The total for 3 hours was $285, which was a great deal compared to other services out there. I agree with the reviewer below that it's very nice to actually talk to a mover and not some corporate person who has no interest in helping me move. Overall, they did a great job for a great price and I would recommend them to anyone who needs to move. Izzy is a great guy! I needed a mover in the late afternoon (same day) to help move a fridge, stove, and a microwave over to my new place. I called and he was able to come within 30 minutes from where I was. At first I was skeptical because of the price for only having to move three appliances. However, once he arrived and was able to move them, I quickly found that it was a great decision! Not only is he extremely helpful, he is very knowledgeable when it comes to appliances and electrical wiring. He was very honest in giving advice (as it turned out, I bought the incorrect stove for my place) and assisted in helping me figure out what to do then. Moreover, Izzy was able to provide insights into what I should be aware of in regards to appliances when replacing them or when moving. I found Izzy here on Yelp and called to have some furniture moved from my apartment in downtown Long Beach, and a storage unit, over to my daughter's new apartment in Anaheim. The earlier reviews I saw written by Peter P., Melissa L., Chase H., and Angel Y were all spot-on. Briefly: 1. Professional, responsive, communicative on the phone. 2. He sent two guys who were the most impressive movers I've ever seen, local or major-name. They anticipated everything, carefully handled everything and were very conscientious about the way completed their work. Even as they unloaded furniture at my daughter's apartment, she turned to me and said, "Wow, they're really careful." 3. Because these two gentleman knew what they're doing, the work was done quickly and the final price was less than I had anticipated. He charged $75 to start plus the $50 hourly rate. I don't think they charged me for the plastic wrap they used to protect things. The final price was $250, as I recall, even with the side-trip to the storage unit. I have found my "go to" movers. As a true procrastinator , I called them the day before my move - very accommodating ! clean , fast ,hard working and reliable . They charge per hour , but they definitely dont drag their feet. This was my first time using a moving service and now I understand why this company was $10/hr cheaper than the others i looked up. I don't know who everyone received from this company that was great, because they were HORRIBLE. Let me just list everything they broke: -3 wood bookcases of different sizes -a shoe rack -a one of a kind audrey hepburn clock -a custom purse rack i built myself -3 plastic moving bins -scraped up my wood headboard -scratched up my wood entertainment center -broke a glass bottle of rice syrup, which then stained the carpet in our new place in multiple locations, ruined a few of my books, and soaked a whole bag of food, so that I had to toss it all. -kept stacking boxes of books on top of my boxes clearly written on as fragile after twice asking them not to -threw my stuff around, so that all my shoes were tossed in with dishes or cleaning supplies -they shrinkwrapped a bunch of my stuff onto my table upside down, and tossed whatever in there, including a bottle of BLEACH, which was upside down and had been leaking all over my perfumes and body lotions for over an hr before I found it. There were 3 of them including the MANAGER and it took them 6hrs to move a one bedroom apt WITH a reserved loading dock and personal elevator. When I informed the manager that I wouldn't be paying for 6hrs after all the damage they caused, he told me my furniture was pressed and going to get broken in a move and that they were on a time crunch. I let him know I had moved my furniture myself in a previous move without breaking it and that id rather them be slow and efficient than rush and break my stuff (and it took 6hrs! how is that fast? and i paid hourly!) In the end, i got $150 off, which was because at this point I only knew they broke all my bookcases and shoe rack. I discovered the rest of the damage after they left. Extremely disappointing and frustrating to have things broken that can't be replaced. read more

i have used Izzy's services twice!! both on really short notice. The 2nd time however was a bit of a bad experience because they had a move that they ran into which turned out to be a longer move. so i had to wait until the next day instead because i had to work that night and was hoping to be done that day. nonetheless, the next day came and they moved out entire 10x10 storage unit into their truck like tetris masters and moved into my new home in under 2.5 hours!!! these guys move fast and do not stop to take a break! i rate 5 stars even after the wait because again, they are quick, come at short notice and are the best rate around. understand that, they aren't some huge moving company. just a couple of guys making a living and will get your move done! give izzy a call, leave your message and don't be afraid to call again to get a hold of him! read more

Excellent service ! Middle of our move from two bedroom to second floor apartment , said they would be here at 7am, and that's exactly what they did. Very professional and right to the work. I would highly reccommend them for any move. Very pleased !!! The whole move went very well. They took excellent care of my Mom's antique cedar chest. My Dad used to own his own moving company so I have alot of experience moving, and let me say these gentlemen were some of the best. These guys were great. They came on time, got stuff moved out as soon as they could and didn't mess up any of it. They disassembled the bed and some furniture and reassembled it at the new place and were pretty accomodating to a small change in plan to pick up an extra chair and dresser. I must say: IZZY is AWESOME!! I needed help moving & had no idea where to begin. I was referred to Izzy by a family member. My appointment was for 4pm and he arrived 10 minutes early, so nice. I contacted this moving company and ended up loosing a $100. It may sound minor but the day of my move they did not show up. I spoke to a woman named Talina and was told the day of the movers "weren't showing up". We ended up having to move on our own. No reason given and no refund given. Now the company is not responding. My bank has to dispute the charges and I have filed a police report for fraud against the company. read more

Would not recommend. They did a move for me previously and were very unprofessional. The owner Izzy asked to use the bathroom after everything was done and I thought it was a bit strange and unprofessional, but he kind of acted like it was an emergency. He ended up doing a #2 in a brand new place that I just moved in and leaving a horrible smell. He is the owner of the company and should know better than that. This was a brand new apartment that I had just moved in. Can you imagine? I had a great experience with this company. They showed up exactly on time (7am on Sunday morning) and had all the blankets, plastic wrap and tape. Even had wardrobe boxes! They took extra care to wrap each picture frame in a blanket and secured it with tape. Very careful with my flat screen too. They were fast, efficient and friendly. I could not have made a better decisions! These movers came prepared, with special moving equipment, and knew exactly how to get stuff out without scratches! My roommates and I waited until the last minute to book movers, but Izzy was able to accommodate us when we called a couple of days before our move. Izzy said he and one other guy would arrive between 12-1pm, but their morning job took much longer than they expected and they didn't get to our apartment until 5:30ish. He did let one of our roommates know that they were running late and told her that he would be bringing an extra guy but that he would honor the original rate. However, he ended up charging us for the extra guy, and when our other roommate went to pay, she didn't know the whole story and paid the full amount. After realizing this, we contacted Izzy and he reluctantly gave us back the amount we overpaid. We will say that once they arrived, they were hard working and efficient. Izzy and his guy helped us move recently and the experience was good. The price was fair- just a little less than some of the other places. They showed up largely on time, AND with only 1 day's notice. They have a big proper truck for moving and all of the supplies to wrap and store you stuff safely. They were polite, clean, and could handle our grumbling condo-neighbors on their own when they asked him to keep the gate closed. They really stood out to me also in that they have a huge supply of those moving blankets and wrapped everything very carefully and even made them available for us to keep with our stuff in storage at a super good price of something like $5 per blanket. They piled our stuff extra neatly in storage also. All in all it was as pain free a moving experience as we could have imagined at a fair price, and we are using Izzy next week as we take our stuff out of storage en route to it's final destination. We asked them to move us a second time and although they were scheduled all day they agreed to come at 6PM to do a night move. Less than ideal, but we went for it. They didn't show up till after 7 though, said they were stuck in traffic, and at least his guy arrived smelling like liquor. I can assume maybe they had a full day moving and maybe decided to take a break for some sauce, contributing to their later arrival. Now if I'd have been moving all day and then still needed to show up for second shift I'd probably have a drink or two in between, but still it was not so professional. The rest of the move did go great, and I will say they were efficient, hard working and fast. The move went well and we just chalked it paid them and were happy to me done. We'd probably still use Izzy again with these two varied, but overall good experiences. read more

This is a legit review people... Izzy and his assitant, Nacho, are the absolute best!! My guy found him on craigslist, which I was super sketchy about, but I'm so glad we hired him to move us. I will NEVER move us on our own again! Izzy and Nacho arrived on time (7am), had all the necessary equipment to move large furniture (up/down stairs I might add), and were pro at packing all of our stuff carefully in their truck. I have a few peices that are heavy, fragile, and expensive that i was most concerned about getting damaged. Izzy kept assuring me that he would take good care of the items which I really appreciated. He is super polite and considerate which really put my mind at ease (I'm a bit of a control-freak). Literlly, we just needed to step aside and let Izzy and Nacho take care of everything. He offered to pay the people I was buying my appliances from and I reimbursed him once he delivered them so I didn't have to make the trip. I used Izzy for my last move and I found their service professional and efficient. Nothing was broken or damaged and it was done in a pretty timely fashion. I do take issue with how Izzy handled the business end of it. He was not upfront with the $50 "truck fee" in addition to the moving fee. He didn't tell me until 20 minutes before my move at 4 pm on the 1st. I didn't have the money but I had little choice at that time. My 1 bd rm, 3 hr move ended up costing $250 and I was not prepared to pay that at all. Going rate is about 185. I told Izzy about this and he got very defensive and never did anything to settle me up. He did say he would come out and help with my next move to another unit in my building, on my same floor, but he wouldn't charge me a "truck fee". That didn't work for me because I won't be using a truck at all for that move so the issue is still unresolved. The conclusion is that they do good work but the pricing is above standard rate and if there is an issue, Izzy may or may not resolve the issue with a customer. read more

I posted an ad on craigslist looking for movers. Izzy's happened to have a website, a legitimate truck and some yelp reviews and was very affordable. So I gave him a call and I'm glad I did. Such a professional and a genuinely nice person. I had heavy, high-end furniture and they managed to get everything into my second story apartment quickly. He and his partner wrapped items and put blankets down on my floors to ensure nothing was damaged in the process. They showed up early, assisted with the logistics of the semi-truck and parking, then he insisted on helping assemble my bed and charged nothing extra for what I considered to be a lot of extra work. I found Izzy's Moving Service on Yelp after having another service leave me in a lurch just a few days before my big move. They arrived on time and ready to move! I was moving a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment on the third floor with no elevator. The two men that showed up were professional and courteous, and best of all, very fast. They wrapped all of my items and had them in the truck faster than I could have ever done on my own. When we arrived at my new apartment everything arrived in the shape in which it left. They unwrapped all the furniture and helped me place everything in its new place. I even brought my washer/dryer and they set them up and put together the stacking mechanism. There were issues with the existing connection and they helped us go to the hardware and resolve the issue.
