He first asked for a down payment of $700 that day and said he'll come back on Friday. Friday came, and he never called me. I had to call them, and he first said he needs another $380 to get another part, and he'll be on the way. I waited all day, and he never showed. They stole my money and bad service. Had my battery & alternator on my old car tested at O'Reillys and my suspicions were correct, both needed to be replaced. I called my mechanic and found out he was no longer wrenching, bummer. I was recommended to call J & C, whom both came out to talk to me in person. John and Charlie are nice young professional men. After we decided to meet at my house to do the alternator, I had O'Reillys replace the battery first. It was 109°F outside and they got the work done. You have to go through the wheel well to get to my alternator. I did look up the repair cost for my car make & model, and they charged me on the high end of the spectrum, but my car was fixed right, during dinner time, in the extreme heat, and in the street where I park. I requested an invoice showing what was done for my records and that took them a few days to finally get that to me after repeatedly asking for it. John and Charlie are fair and caring! Trustworthy and money savers! My first experience with them, we hired them to replace my husband's alternator but they saved us $400 by discovering that we didn't need it replaced and were able to fix the problem the same day. I know nothing about cars so they easily could have just replaced it to make more money but instead they only charged us a service fee. They know times are hard and try to give deals where they can. They now have worked on my van a few times and it's always a great experience! They are really good at communicating, even when we were having engine trouble from out of state! They tried to help us all they could and talk us through some things we could try. Then fixed the van in 1 day! The day right after we got back to town! They are more than fair in pricing! They even sent me a picture of my motor to show me that it's healthy although it's older. It really goes a long way in building trust. I was happy with these guys until the day after my money was taken for a job that I was under the impression would be fixed from what there diagnostic read. I paid $500 to these people just to get the same problem the next day after. I paid $120 for the diagnostic and after how dissatisfied I am by hearing that it's now another issue which should have been found in the first diagnostic and they have nerve to refund me just the $120 diagnostic and keep my $500 for not even fixing the problem they told me they found. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am so upset and for these guys to act like I shouldn't feel a certain way is ridiculous!.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So now you want me to take my car to there shop and pay them $60 an hour as I'm told that they would cut the labor in half from $120 an hour telling me they have to take my whole engine or sensors out and I know that's going to take hours I'm no fool and I'll be damned I'm paying more just for them to have all this money and have my car and something else happens. I don't think it's professional to tell me that your diagnostic is now today your telling me that it can be some other sensor throwing my car off so I'm just not happy with the service I received and the attitudes like they they didn't give a damn bit they sure did take my $500 while I'm now fucked with the same car issue I had before calling them. On March 13th I contacted J&C Mobile Mechanics because my car wouldn't start and I didn't have access to any friends or family to help me get my car moved out of the street. The guys showed up and determined that I needed a new alternator and a new battery. The alternator should have costed, $350 and the battery should have been aprox $100. They guys charged me $1,000 and gave me a 3 month service warranty and a 1 year parts warranty. Late last month I contacted J&C in order to get my battery switched out because my car stopped on me at the gas station. It took a while for them to respond (fine) but then they wanted to charge me $75 to swap out the battery using the warranty. At this point, I wasn't sure I wanted them to do the service so I asked if I could just meet them at the parts store to hand them the battery and get the new one. I was told that I would still be charged $75. At this point, I got the battery tested. It tested at 100% which meant it could be the alternator. I contacted them again - at this point they are only replying to me to tell me that they are unhappy with my Google/Yelp Review. I told them that I believed it was the alternator and could they come take a look at it since I have to pay the service fee anyway. I was told that their tester was broken and it would be a couple of days before they could come to me. My uncle bought a thirty dollar tester, tested everything and cleaned the cables... something J&C must have missed and now my car is working fine. My brake pads were practically none existent, and my Air Conditioning absolutely did not work. I originally went to a shop and they wanted to charge me up the butt for those two repairs and said there was a bunch of other things wrong with my car and that it would be over three grand to fix! I met the guys from J & C Mobile mechanics by accident . I called them to "vent" about an employee of theirs.. I found out that the guy didn't work there but was using a similar name (JC Mobile Mechanics) . I want to warn you not to mistake the 2 listings. Jesse Ross returned my call for service when my vehicle would not start. He SAID he ran a diagnostic that resulted in him saying I needed a new alternator and battery. the total cost he quoted was 2054.08 for the parts and labor. He said he had to have the money up front. He wanted cash but I told him I didn't keep that kind of cash on hand. Then he offered to give me a ride to my bank to get the cash. Since my bank was located in the state I moved from he finally settled for a check....I got excuse after excuse (out of stock parts, parts he ordered were the wrong ones when they arrived, he had a dentist appointment and couldn't come out that day, etc.,etc.,etc . That"s when I made the call to J & C MOBILE MECHANICS and spoke to John, He told me that they we not the same company and had never employed Jesse Ross. My account of being scammed by Jesse Ross was familiar to him as he had received many similar called from angry customers...NOW TO THE GREAT PART OF THIS SAD TALE. AFTER LISTENING TO COMPLAINT JOHN AND HIS PARTNER, CHARLIE CAME OUT TO MY ADDRESS AND AFTER CHECKING OUT THE SITUATION ENFORMED ME i DID NOT NEED A NEW ALTERNATOR; JUST THE NEW BATTERY. Ok so it seems that this is the company's grift to scam you, like other reviews on this site I read after my experience. He tells me he can get the part in a month needs 1/2 up front half when he does the job. So give this guy a check for $850, he gives me an invoice. Followup, he says he has the part schedules appointment, no show, reschedules next day, no show, reschedules 1 week later, yep no show, reschedules again, no show. Then says won't refund parts cost, will send me the part instead by today and communicate the tracking number. Now I bet you know what comes next? No tracking number! Due to prior review posts here and others stating they have the same experience as mine, seems to show an intent to defraud people of their hard earned money, and an established modus operandi to steal a few hundred bucks from suckers like us, without any legal consequences...Without question, in my opinion, someone from the States Attorney's office in Nevada needs to take action here!
