This is the cheapest Korean all you can eat place I've found. I ordered the Brisket Special ($7.99) and two large bottles of OB and ate and ate and ate. The Brisket Special consists of brisket (sliced beef), pork belly, and thin pork slice. You just grill it, eat it, and order another plate of the same. It's definitely not the tastiest and the sauce provided doesn't help much. Grilling didn't do much for the meats either. Maybe it was the quality of the meat or the fact that we ordered the cheapest AYCE special. Hmm. Anyway, I decided to forgo the rice and eat the stuff with the bottomless bowl of lettuce that was provided. Good thing I brought my own sauce that I made from home. It made things a little better. The kimchi probably had the most and the best flavor of anything on the table. This place gets seriously smoky due to the poor ventilation, so plan on dressing like a bum because you'll probably walk out smelling like one. Unless you're on a budget, skip this place and spend a little more for better tasting eats. read more

We were in the mood for korean bbq so I looked around for the cheapest place I could find and found Ma Dane Sae. We went around 5 so the place was a quarter full and we got decent service. The waiters don't come to you though or check on you so you have to make eye contact with them. We decided with the $9.99 option and started with pork belly and sweet beef and got HUGE portions. We barely finished the first round and only asked for half an order of sweet beef for our second go around. The meat was decent but I wish there was another sauce to dip the un-marinated meat in other than hot sauce or sesame oil. The salad they gave was under seasoned. I was really excited for the macaroni salad everyone was talking about because I thought it would be like the sweet japanese potato salad with apples that I love but it wasn't sweet at all. I did enjoy the steamed egg though. Neither we didn't have very big appetites and we left feeling a little defeated and like we didn't get our monies worth (not because of the restaurant itself, just because we didn't eat that much). Since I have nothing better to do in quarantine, I figured I would finally review some of my favorite restaurants. Of all the KBBQ places I've gone to, JBBQ has the nicest service. The quality of their meat is decent for the prices with a good variety of banchan, and I always looked forward to their choco pies. Wait times were never too bad, though they do allow you to call ahead of time. Unassuming place where the meat is definitely the star. Love the homey atmosphere (AYCE just doesn't feel "right" at those overly-polished places like Road to Seoul). I love the vibe and could have stayed all night. We had a Korean friend with us, which made it quick in getting extra tongs and refills of salad/dipping sauce/sides. Not to say that you wouldnt be able to get those things without a Korean speaker in your group - just don't be shy about getting the attention of the servers. Service was very efficient. Loveee the price - the $9.99 deal was perfect for me since it includes all the essentials (brisket, pork belly, thin pork, sweet beef, chicken, sweet pork) and I didn't feel like I needed the tongue and intestines for $13.99. I'm all about the meat and each plate they brought out was stacked. Their sweet beef and chicken were my favorites. Liked the steamed egg too :) but my favorite of the sides was the macaroni salad. That stuff is so ADDICTING!!! Everyone at my table agreed it was really good. Tip: Watch out for the floors since they are slippery/greasy. Since I went after work, I was wearing heels and almost ate it when we first entered. Also, the restaurant did get pretty smoky at one point but it wasn't that bad since we were by the door (maybe try to snag a table by the door if that bothers you). The lowest menu now $13.99 . Parking is a little difficult, there is some street parking nearby and some mexican food vendors on the street too. This is a small KBBQ joint and can sometimes seem understaffed. Their banchan has kimchi, beansprouts, mashed potatoes, macaroni, salad, and rice paper. They try to come around with a cart to refill those side dishes. The chili garlic sauce and sesame oil salt is on that cart. The Menu A has the basic Menu A type stuff --- brisket, bulgolgi, marinaded porks, pork steak, calamari, pork belly. The meat quality was Ok, not amazing, but not the worst. The pork belly was really fatty though. Pro-tip: They provide rice. When you're getting close to the end of your meal, ask for some extra kimchi and beansprouts. First of all, this place is different from when we used to come before Covid. Prices raised, cheapest is now $21, used to be $15 You HAVE to pay for water, it's NOT free. Flavors have changed, meat does not taste as good as it used to. Tip is automatically added, YOU HAVE TO PAY the tip they added. Before covid 19, all prices are good, great service, great quality meats! During covid 19, they expanded to take out. All raw meats were being sold, which is great. I had a family BBQ and I ordered a lot of raw meats, la galbi was the best, very tasty and packaged really well. Also ordered alive pork belly, bulgogi, & la galbi! Everyone in my family was very happy, even better when everything is grilled to perfection. During covid 19, they rolled out a series of lunch special, I order almost everyday from their lunch specials, it consist of different meats, you get to choose. So far I've been loving the bulgogi lunch bowls. All lunch bowls are cooked, comes with salad, Brisket sauce, pickled radish, and kimchi! So worth it, it's a great lunch meal, also portions are really generous. It's amazing and I hope they keep service these lunch bowls even after covid. To start off, they were already giving us attitude right when we entered the room. I did not understand what I had done to offend them so early in the afternoon. There werent many people in there but our party was of 14 people. I thought it could have been the people that had arrived earlier that were part of our party that may have riled their attitudes a little. That could have been the reason right? Going into the service, they were quick to give all side dishes to set the table. However one thing that i disliked was how they immediately put whatever meats we ordered onto the grill to cook it. I usually prefer to cook my own meats to my choosing so I felt that I had lost some control over choosing what to eat first. There were things we would constantly ask for and they refused to do so even though we asked several times to the point of frustration. We ask for a grill change 3 to 5 times and they would agree to change it however they said behind our backs in korean that they weren't going to change the grill as if we could not understand them. They continued to deny us a grill change even when our grill was burnt charred black. So i ask them one last time to change the grill because our table orders another two meats. In front of our face, they grab the meats and add it to the burnt, over used, charred grill so that they wont have to change the grill!! I dont understand. Why couldnt they have just done what we asked! Maybe its because they force a 15% gratuity for parties 2 or more that they could care less about customer service! I can find other top quality ayce kbbq places for better service and price but this is unacceptable. The waiter had the audacity to ask if i had a problem while he was putting the meat on the dirty black burnt grill! HE ABSOLUTELY knew what he was doing and was actually asking me just to piss us off even more! I said "Why did you do that?" And he couldn't understand what I meant. I explained that I wanted a grill change and he told me that he would change it after the meat cooks. WELL IF HE KEEPS ADDING MORE MEAT WHEN IS IT GOING TO CHANGE???? AFTER I LEAVE? This waiter then pisses me off even more by saying " Dont be upset, dont be mad, be happy". Such a big screw you to my face as i just shook my head in such dissapointment. There were two servers during my time and both were incredibly annoying and full of attitude. One keep coming over to touch our meats when they just needed to be left alone. She then continued to lecture us of grilling me as if this was our first time. Some people like their meat differently and you just gotta leave it alone. I believe their attitude was also because of the forced gratuity or maybe they are just bitter awful servers hoping to ruin peoples days. Don't recommend this shoddy over priced run down place. I tried this joint out on Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend and I came on a whim around 8:30 PM and were seated in 15 minutes. I wasn't feeling KBBQ so we started off with Menu A ($13.99). The sliced pork belly was AWESOME! It was very similar to brisket, which is my go-to. Pass me some rice paper and I could eat plates of just brisket... anywho, upon further inspection of the menu, we realized that upgrading to Menu B came with a free Sapporo draft. What!!?? Yes please! That's a great deal! I definitely recommend Menu B ($17.99). There were tons more options AND it includes a drink, basically making up the price difference. The limited finger meat was gamey and tender, pretty cool! And the corn cheese came out steaming and mixed in with onion. Delicious. The negative part was that it was so hard to get service/food towards the second half of our meal. We were in the back corner behind a larger party and nobody changed our grill throughout the night, or asked for meat orders after we finished the first two rounds :-( oh well, better luck next time! read more

Today Nov 10? 2019 at 1.26pm The service was terrible. Acted too busy and as of customer is not important enough to finish their order request. When the men server asked if I want more while pointing to my potato, I said No thanks but...he took my potato away. I don't get it. Apparently he meant do you still want it. I was not upset at that point but he looked at me angrily and said, you said no more...and I said yes, you asked me, do you want more? I said no, it did not mean. I did not want....why do you have to be upset and put the blame on me?? I am a customer and I come this place for almost twice a week with my family. Terrible. This is my girlfriend's favorite spot so I bring her here whenever we crave K bbq. This is the second time we have a bad experience with the same server. I was going through the other reviews because I just know he's the only one with an attitude. Everyone else is nice there. We had a different server that was really nice, but at the end of our meal, the server with the attitude handed us our tab, and I asked if they do refills to go because some restaurants do. All he had to say was no and it's no big deal. But he felt it was appropriate to respond by asking, "do you have a cup" with the nastiest attitude. And I said "no I don't". And he shrugged with one hand gesturing, "then?" And it just ruined my whole experience. Again this is the second time he has attitude. Wish I could've taken back my tip but they force a gratuity charge of 15%. Luckily my girlfriend didn't hear so her experience was still good. This happened on 02/14/24 6:30pm. This is a budget KBBQ place. I'm definitely aware of that but I didn't really like my experience. A few things: 1. The setting. I don't like how you can view the butcher handling the meat(?) next to the dining area. The place also didn't seem so clean. 2. The color of the bulgogi meat I got. It wasn't red like other bulgogi meat I've had. It was beige, or the color of chicken. But it still tasted like bulgogi when cooked - which was puzzling. 3. Waiter enthusiasm. He lacked enthusiasm. It made me feel bad for calling him over for his service. He wasn't very interactive either. I had to take initiative if I wanted more meat. 4. Not related to the restaurant itself but... The parking area was dirty and full of bird poop. I came here primarily out of curiosity but wouldn't come here EVER again. It's definitely worth paying $10 more for a better dining experience and peace of mind. No need to worry about unquestionable meat and cleanliness. Also, better waiters too. read more
