A regular here to watch the game and catch the drink specials. Came in to watch the Cavaliers and Thunder game to hear light jazz playing. When I asked the waitress if we could hear the game, she was hesitant to ask because she said "he doesn't usually want to hear all of that"...cool. She knows mgmt better than we do. But we're paying customers. After we kept pushing she asked and returned at which point she said the manager said "let me think about it." WHAT?!? In a restaurant which is pretty much a sports bar, that is ridiculous. We listened to the end of "Summer madness" and then the manager finally turned on the sound for the game...very low. I stopped here on one of those Sun nights were I just wasn't ready to go home and end the weekend. Well, it ended anyway when I got here. So I grabbed a few keno slips (you can play as much as you want) and sat at the bar. Boring. There was a $3 wine special, so I ordered two glasses of Merlot and a chicken quesadilla. I could have made a way better quesadilla at home for the $6.99 I paid for it....major meh. The bar was sticky, and there was slow sappy R&B playing...(irritates me to no end). I will say that the service was prompt and the waitress was nice. There were a handful of people there that night who seemed to be enjoying themselves, and a few that just came in to down a few shots and then leave....which is exactly what I did when I finished my second glass of wine... I will say that this place has a DJ on Fri and Sat, and Karaoke on Thursday, so maybe I will try it again sometime because this place IS right around the corner from where I live and with gas currently at $3.29 a gallon I think I may need to start finding more things to do around my neck of the woods instead of always driving to Southside. read more

I went here for lunch today with friends on the recommendation of one of my co-workers. We get in, seat ourselves and our waitress comes over to take our orders. My first impression? The food better be good, cuz their waitress is lacking! We all ordered the lunch special (10 wings w/ fries & a drink for $5.99, plus extra for flavored wings [other than mild, medium or hot] and extra for ranch or bleu cheese dressing). Our waitress brings us our drinks and that's the last we see of her until we get our bills. I don't even think she told us her name. Anyways, so that's when I meet Whitney (not sure if that's spelled right, since he's a guy). He brings out our food and makes sure we're all okay with drinks. He's a good friend of the owner, so I think SCORE! I ordered the lemon pepper wings, extra crispy, with bleu cheese dressing. So I get my wing ready, and dunk it into the chunky bleu cheese and take a bite. Oh. My. God. HEAVEN! These wings are delicious, and their homemade bleu cheese is extraordinary!! I tell Whitney so! He comes back and gives us each a "Loyalty Card". I'm sure you've seen 'em. Buy 9 lunch specials, get the 10th free! I love free stuff! So I tell him I'm gonna Yelp! Him, for his outstanding service and their delicious food and he's got no clue what Yelp! Is, so I fill him in! He says he's gonna check it out (So, hi Whitney!) He also brings me some to go menus and some cards with the specials on them. For example, they have a daily special of $1.50 Bud or Miller Light 10 oz. drafts. On Fridays, they have $5.00 Crab Legs & $5 drink specials! Kids eat free on Tuesdays with one adult entrée purchase (Dine-in only). So I'm thinking to myself, yeah, this gonna become a new favorite lunch spot for me & the crew! They have other food besides wings too, such as ribs, fish, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, nachos salads, etc. You get my drift. There's something for everyone. Their sweet tea is really good too!! They do corporate delivery with a minimum purchase of $40.00, Monday thru Friday from 11am till 3pm. They also sell bottles of their sauce!! It's a cute little place, and their motto is: "Chicken is chicken, but the wing is the thing!" And oh, is it the thing!! So, here comes our waitress again to give us our bills, and she says "Sorry I'm not chipper today, I'm not feeling well." For some reason this whole restaurant reminds me of The Steve Harvey Show. I have only been once and I ordered chicken wings that were not sooooo cheap as one reviewer mentioned. Maybe I just missed the amazing deals. These were some of the most pathetic wings I have ever seen. They were smaller than the average pinky finger. Our waiter was good kept the drinks filled and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu (not to a fault). The parking lot might also make you lolz as there always seems to be "hooptie-wagons" parked outside. And on the weekends I read it turns into a club of some sorts... This is one of my go to spots. You walk in and you get starred at if you're not black but it's not bad. All the dudes look like they were in the background of some Lil Jon video at some point in time with their Sean Jean apparel and MJ sneakers. The women are generally....voluptuous. I guess that's a understatement but I have seen maybe 3 hot girls here since I been coming. Been hit on by numerous waitresses and customers in their 30s and 40s and it's pretty funny at times. However, your prob wondering why the f I am giving this place 5 stars ESPECIALLY given my history of using the full 5 star scale and not just giving away stars. Three things, the food, alcohol, and the prices. Sometimes I'll pop for .99 cent coors drafts in ice chilled mugs while i watch SC at the bar. Sometimes, friends and I pop in their to devour a 100 wings between 5 of us but only 3 of us are heavy eaters. I do the ordering. 20 wing extra extra crispy lemon pepper, 40 wings hot extra crispy, and 40 wings tossed in a sauce consisting of 1 part hot sauce and 1 part ranch (my creation and absolute favorite). Along with that we usually take down about 3.5 pitchers of Stella Artois priced at 10 bucks a pitcher isn't bad. Especially during a falcons/braves/hawks game. I should deduct a star based on the extremely slow, lackadaisical, and ignorant attitude that i guess anyone should anticipate before coming to JR Crickets but they got a nice secret to crispy wings so I guess you have to deal with it. Point is try this place the food is good. O btw the fries are also really good. Don't know what they do but they got a unique taste to them. This used to be my go to spot. I had the worst service possible on Friday night. I ordered my parties food and drinks together. My party got there food fairly quickly but no condiments or napkins on the table. A neighboring table noticed and had to give us there condiments. My food came out 40 min later. I only ordered catfish bites and sweet potato tots‍. We ordered Strawberry patron margarita which was awesome. I asked the waitress to bring me another she disappeared came back twenty minutes later empty handed and asked what did we need. We decided we wanted peach patron margarita. We have been here several times before so we know how it should look and taste. Waiter brought us a regular margarita. I told him we asked for peach patron, he took it away. He came back 10 min later with the same pitcher trying to convince us it was peach. I tasted it, it was not peach and it was not patron. He said you don't want it, I said no he took the pitcher and walked away. He never asked if we wanted another drink, we were sitting in the sports bar sober being ignored. My girl friend and I arrived around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon, there was only 1 server and 1 bartender behind the bar. Long story short we had to wait 30 mins to put our drink order in, 30 mins with no water as well. We were very empathetic with the server she had about 6 tables to wait on. I don't understand why there would not have more staffed scheduled on a Saturday afternoon. Over worked employees leads to poor customer service and the server had a major attitude. Charging for dressing..blasphemy . I was here to watch the Atlanta Dream take on some other team. Sat at the bar and the waiter was very attentive. I order a goose and cranberry. It was one of their drink specials-$5 pretty good - 5 stars Ordered a 20 piece wings-Three mile island, fries and ranch dressing. Wings were great- I appreciate that they were actually hot!! Perfectly cooked, decent sized Only drawback was that they charged me for the ranch dressing-$1.17 They also charged for the flavor as they only come mild medium or hot(lemon pepper, teriyaki, three mile was $1.00 extra I believe. I think that's just uncalled for as with any wing order you expect the initial dressing to be apart of the package. That brings my entire experience down two stars. Huge disappointment, tiny portions... After a year and a half of living around the corner, I gave it a shot. Bad mistake. The staff was super nice, but the food was just not good. When you're paying $10 for a salad, you'd expect to at least have a full chicken breast on it. This one had the equivalent of a chicken finger. And there was about the same amount of shredded carrots as lettuce. The Philly cheesesteak was also tiny and only came with a handful of fries for $12. They charged to add mushrooms on it, but there was only half of one on the whole thing. We were both still hungry after eating our entire meals. Went by here late on a Friday night, not realizing that its the in spot if you want to sing Karaoke. Packed is the word, loud is another. To packed and to loud, so we decided to do a to go order. Not much of a waiting area if you do decide to do this..just stand there and survey the crowd over the to loud music. 30 minutes after ordering we get this small box and another medium sized box. I ordered the wing, fish and fry combo and the GF ordered just plain wings. Not much in the way of flavor selection. Three really and then they combine those three to make six more. Odd. Order looked all right. Well if you discount the fact that they made a mistake. I ordered all flats and the GF just ordered a regular order. Mine was all drums and hers was all flats. Didn't find this out til we got home. $1 dollar never to be seen again. The wings were small and salty. Not bad just not great. The fish was horrible. Smelled like bubbled up ass or something. I usually love JR crickets wings . This Location is convenient but sadly it's a hit or miss . I'm not sure what exactly is the issue but one night my wings are good and the next time they are "ok" or just plain horrible . Last nights wings were over cooked , salty , and my boyfriends wings were greasy with a burnt after taste . We ordered our food via phone at 9:15 got there at 9:35 and still had to wait another hour once we got there for our food . I wasn't disappointed or impressed. The food was ok. I ordered the wings in lemon pepper and bbq and then lemon pepper and teriyaki. I will save you your 79 cents charge. The lemon pepper was barely there, so it tasted like regular bbq and teriyaki sauces. Also, the wings were very premature and tiny. I just wasn't enthused. They couldn't decide if they wanted to play the music or the sounds from the game. It was as if they were confused on what to do. The waitress was Kelly. I have been coming to this location for at least ten years. Usually when I call in a order they even know what I want already.Except tonight. Now the staff changes often besides star( who is a sweet heart) but tonight's order was not what I wanted and even tho they were not closed it was 11:15 the manager I believe basically told me the kitchen was closed and they would not redo my order and really could care less. The order was Spicy and I can not eat spicy food. Very disappointed! We walked in and were never greeted by anyone who worked there, sat down to poor service and had to get the attention of a server anytime we needed anything. We ordered drinks and apparently $5 special means watered down and no alcohol. When we complained to the manager he completely blew us off and said there was nothing wrong with the drinks, if we wanted a "real" drink we should have asked for one. After driving past here and seeing many cars, my friend and I thought this would be a good place to try. I've always wanted to try their food being an Atlanta native. We were beyond disappointed. The wings were minuscule at best. While the flavor was good, two bites for an entire chicken wing is terrible!!! Having worked in the restaurant industry, I've worked in restaurants where wings are an appetizer and had more meat on two or three wings than J R Crickets did in our entire 20 piece order. Not to mention, it cost more than a good wing place like Buffalo's or Taco MAC especially with all the "up-charges." As a server in the restaurant industry, I understand the whole COVID issue. On top of all this, I had to walk back up to the counter several times to see if our food was ready. I was told 20 mins which was fine. However, a general standard in customer service is to let the people know who have already paid for their food and left a very generous tip that the order is ready. I understand the whole not being able to eat in the restaurant thing. What I don't get and will never understand is the absence of service altogether. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I and 5 other coworkers went last Friday afternoon at 11:40am. We were the only party in the entire restaurant when we were seated and put an order in. At 12:30 we still had not received our food. We all had meetings and other business to attend to back at the office which is why we all ordered quickly and came in early. After asking who we thought was the manager for our food (which ended up being another server outside of uniform in a leather jacket) we finally received our food at 12:45pm. One member of the party had to call a lyft back to the office to avoid missing a 1:00pm meeting and we took care of her meal because despite telling them to bring the check as soon as we got the food they failed to do so. At 1:00pm we received the checks and ALL of them were incorrect, not to mention our discounts not being applied. The back and forth went on for another 15-20 minutes. I was charged for having two flavors (when the server told me it would be no problem) AND charged for BOTH flavors on the wings! After the correction he told me "the manager is too busy to open the register now" and gave me a crumpled dollar in exchange, which was less than the amount added in error! We finally found the manager who only took off the gratuity (another thing the server failed to mention) when instructed and also decided it would be appropriate to give it back in cash because apparently the manager doesn't have the power to adjust the ticket in the POS system. After all this and my party FINALLY being able to leave, the server that ignored us the entire time decided it was appropriate to follow us out of the restaurant yelling that we did not pay our tab! I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION AND I WILL ADVISE ALL OF THE 500+ PEOPLE AT MY OFFICE TO DO THE SAME. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL TO CUSTOMERS.
