    Korean steak tacos with elote.
    Tifna T.

Loved the ambiance and our server was great too. I also enjoyed their jalapeño popper flatbread, so much flavor with a kick in your mouth. . I also enjoyed my JT frozen róse, such a lovely drink. I thought the meatballs were a bit out of the ordinary, very simple. But the Korean steak tacos were banging !!! although the elote didn't pair well with the tacos.

I love J Theodore. It's my go to for a double date or delicious dessert (I love the chocolate raspberry cake). I've been three times in the last 4 months, so I've got some things to share with you. Sometimes the service is a little lackluster. People doing a job. Not terrible or even a little bad, just unmemorable. The food is very good which makes up for that. In the evenings they dim the lights and it's intimate, especially if you've got a booth. Brunch is great, with the exceptional note that they do not have specialty milks. No almond, no oat, no 2%. Whole milk only. For a place that claims to have barista service (and not just a server making a coffee), I find this shocking. But again, the food is VERY GOOD (see photos). Dang it. I love love love their chocolate raspberry cake. I won't tell you how many times I've popped in for a slice of cake, but we'll just say it would be embarrassing. They also sell cakes and I've heard cupcakes?! With advanced ordering. As for food, take a look at my pics for details.

    TRUFFLE PARM FRIES - delicious

I love coming here but I hate the prices! We enjoy the cocktails and ambiance (this time there was a huge group of obnoxious ladies but they were having fun). We love the deviled eggs with candied bacon to start. We normally get the sliders and fries but this time we split a burger French style. The staff is always great and they make celebrations special. I love their Brussels but $18 for a side of veggies is just a bit much. I don't care for the small space of the speakeasy.

I wasn't planning on sitting down at J Theodore, especially not at 10:30pm on a Saturday night, but the Rare Books Bar quoted us a 30-60 min wait (Separate review for them). We decided to grab drinks, truffle fries, and a slice of cake. Service was good! Nothing notable, but nothing to complain about either. The ambiance was interesting, it is definitely upscale, but there was a DJ playing extremely loud club music with awful transitions between songs. A handful of people were dancing too. Food and Drink review: -Eye of the Tiger Cocktail: It was okay. It tasted almost a little powdery, like there was emergenC sitting in it. No where near worth $17 -Guinness: it is what it is....for $8, seemed a bit steep, but it was fine -Parm truffle fries: hardly any parm, fries were just alright. Serving size was decent -Strawberry and lemon cake: Also just okay. The serving was large, but it was notably cold and not particularly moist. This isn't on par with the typical slices I've gotten from here in the past Overall, 3 stars because we left feeling disappointed. For upwards of $65, two drinks (one of them being a beer), fries, and a slice of cake was not something worth writing home about. We won't be returning.

    Meatballs Al Forno

Came here to enjoy a family meal with my brother and parents and have to say that the Restaurant carries a great ambiance! If the weather is nice I recommend sitting in their patio! The service was good, and when a leaf fell into my dad's wife the staff gladly provided a refill, which was appreciated! The appetizers were very good, with the meatballs being some of the best that I've had, and would gladly recommend! The calamari was also very good and it had a sweet sauce alongside the traditional marinara sauce that paired very nicely with the calamari. I will say for the price point of $23 that I would have hoped for a larger portion, as it was pretty small. The French onion soup, was solid but did not really stand out versus other French Onion soups I've had. For an entree I did get the waygu burger- French style, and have to say that I was extremely disappointed with it. The burger had no flavor to it, the burger did not seem to have any seasoning and the aioli and the cheese was not able to impact the flavor profile at all, it was definitely very bland. The fries though were delicious and very crisp. The rest of my family enjoyed their food, and highly complemented their tacos, and my brother got the ahi tuna salad, which I tried some which was very good. The menu is definitely will put together and would come back to try something else as they had many options that sounded craveable. It must have just been an off night with that particular burger as everything else was delicious, but from my experience would recommend staying away from the burger.

    Grilled Chicken Penne Pesto Pasta

This pasta was sooo good and pretty good size too!! I would def eat it again and the server was pretty fast. The outdoor seating was super cute, would def recommend for a birthday dinner.

I'm so mad at myself for not grabbing our server's name. He was just fantastic! Kind, patient, informative, and took pride in his job. My brunch here at J Theodore was fine, nothing too crazy. But the ambiance and serve team really made the experience great. I did order just a plain traditional breakfast and I'd get it again. I can't wait to return to try their delicious cakes!

    Heirloom Tomato Burrata

Good Food, service and ambiance! They have good cocktails too. Their Burrata toast is delicious. I loved the grilled portobello tacos, minimalistic but flavorful and filling. Been here twice, we always have a good time! Highly recommend this place.

They were not only beautifully crafted but absolutely delicious--each sip had us dreaming of swaying palm trees, ocean breezes, and a Hawaiian getaway. We loved both the Mai Tais and the Beachy Bookkeeper! We decided to share a few appetizers. The Meatballs al Forno was my favorite...packed with flavor and perfect for enjoying with friends over drinks. The Heirloom Tomato Burrata was okay however, the tomatoes didn't seem ripe and were hard and chewy. The Lobster in a Jar was tasty - on the pricey side if you ask me though... One of my favorite things about this spot is the ambiance. The lighting is low (and by low I am flat out dark where you almost can't see your hand in front of your face), creating a dark, cozy, and intimate atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. Whether you're catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or simply looking for a place to escape for a few hours, the vibe here is spot on. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which only added to the experience. Tiki Tuesday has officially become one of my favorite weekly traditions. Great drinks, delicious appetizers, wonderful service, and a cozy atmosphere--what more could you ask for? I'll definitely be back next Tuesday for another little island escape. A large table in the middle of the bar was filled with children sitting on their iPhones while waiting for a private party to finish in another room. Meanwhile, paying adult customers who had come in to have drinks had nowhere to sit. What was frustrating was that the staff allowed the group to occupy one of the main tables in the bar instead of asking them to wait in the private room where their party was being held. The bar was busy and several groups of adults were left standing while a table of kids took up prime seating. It felt poorly managed and honestly a bit strange to walk into a bar late on a Saturday night and see a table of children taking up space while adult guests were trying to find somewhere to sit. We split the SPREADABLE WHIPPED LEMON BASIL GOAT CHEESE. Loved this. But note to the Chef or food prep - the toast crackers had so many holes in the bread, there was NO surface for the spreadable. I say approximately because we live about a 10 minute drive and we left our home about 6:20, but I digress. Upon our arrival we were seated and provided with water and menus. The business was not that crowded at this time and several tables had already been served or had their respective drinks. At 6:40 when we had no additional contact with the wait staff that seated us or any other staff. There were two bartenders and to table wait staff. The bartenders were making drinks while the wait staff appeared to be behind the counter and occasionally seating newer customers. At 6:40 my wife was ready to leave, I told her I would give them to 7:00, at 6:59 our waitress came back to our table, the first time since she sat us. She took our drink order as well as our dinner order. At approximately 7:05 I saw the bartender making our drinks and place them at the end of the bar. During this time I believe that our wait staff was preparing one of our food items while the second wait staff was serving some customers in her are or taking orders. At 7:12 I went to the end of the bar to get our drinks but there was no glass for the wine as the bartender poured it out in a small carafe. So I left them at the bar. Mat 7:15 our waitress came staff got a wind glass and poured the carafe of wine into the glass at the bar and then brought the drinks to us. Approximately 7:25 our meals arrived. Again, the food was good.
