Of all the bars on Rock Rose at the Domain Shopping center, Jack & Ginger's was the most boisterous with the best music. SXSW festival has brought in over 1M people to Austin. Not sure if the bar was so engaging because it is an Irish Bar and it is getting close to St. Patrick's day. Folks were having a good time at Jack & Ginger's. The bar was packed inside and outside. This was an ideal day to be outside....cool not cold...not sticky humid. My friend and I had a Lemon Drop martini, which tasted like lemonade. After chatting for a while, we headed

While there is no shortage of pubs at the Domain, this one has a unique Irish vibe, from the decor to the drinks. It's a great spot for drinks and dinner with a group of friends.

Cool little irish pub. Very extensive beer list! If you can't find something you like here well maybe beer is not for you! We definitely wanted to try some of the local brews. The EastCider's BlackBerry was fruity with no weird aftertaste like some ciders can have. My partner ordered the Jester King Mama Luna. It was refreshing with just a hint of sweetness. The Nitro Espresso Martini was everything I hoped it would be; smooth and delicious. I thought Redhead in Bed might be a little too sweet with the agave and strawberries but the hint of lemon balanced it out. Jack & Gingers was one of our many stops for the evening so we only ordered appetizer, no entrees. The fried pickles were crispy, good sized and served with ranch. The jumbo pretzel was indeed jumbo! The honey mustard dip was good but the pit boss queso was out of this world!

Wow, Ryann's beer suggestions were absolutely stellar, her service truly elevated our experience! As for the food, the Philly Smoker Hogi and the Pit Plate Nachos (with fries, which unfortunately made them a bit soggy and the pork dry and unseasoned) both landed at a 6/10. The brisket sandwich was a bit better, hitting an 8/10, mainly thanks to its barbecue sauce that even surpassed Buck-ee's--though, the comparison itself speaks volumes! And just for shits-n-giggles , we found out a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue is $60. Theres an inside and outside bar. The inside of the bar gives a true Irish pub feel.

We stopped in here after we had dinner just to have drinks. This was a nice casual outside seating cool little bar if you happen to be in the domain looking for a place to hang out and have snacks and a drink this is it! They had a large selection of craft beers. If you're nonalcoholic drinker, they had a few nonalcoholic selections and mock tails. We sat right next to the bar, but we still had a server that came by several times. We didn't have any food on this trip as we had already had dinner, but if it was any indication from the drinks, I bet the food is really good. We'll definitely go back here again.

Mediocre at best. If you don't have high expectations and you're just looking for a place to pop in while you're in the domain, this is fine. But there is good food worth eating at plenty of other nearby spots. The waitress was lovely and attentive, but she was truly the best part of our visit. The pickles were bland, no flavor to the breading. And the pickles were so hot inside that my friends actually burned their hands after having to spit out their bites because they were burning their tongues. They were not hot to the touch, but as one of my friend said "it like lava inside". The reason we went was for the pretzel...meh. We ate it because we were hungry and I love bread, but it was not anything to write home about. The banana pudding was a waitress recommendation, and the first thing I compared it to was hospital pudding. IYKYK. Meh from start to finish.

The food is decent. The beer selection is very good. The drink selection is also descent. The vibe it great though. I cannot put ky finger in it, nothing stands out but it just gas a very comfortable inviting feeling. The open air seating is great, and the two times Ive been here the staff were friendly and attentive. I really don't cone here for the food (good, not great), I come here more for the vibe ch and the ambiance (it's a great feel and at night is hopping).

Sorry guys that was not a nice experience. We went to watch the game and the tvs were way too loud. At least turn them down during commercials. Everything we said to each other at our table had to be repeated. No one could talk to each other easily. And the food was just ok. Drinks were good. Service was not good. Several attempts to get everything we needed.

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.

If you don't know it's there, it's easy to miss. Stepping inside feels like walking into a stylish, oversized living room. A sleek bar lines one side of the space, while comfortable modern living room furniture occupies the center of the room. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between chic sophistication and laid-back fun, with clean architectural lines, modern décor, and dim lighting that creates an inviting ambiance. During our visit, we learned that the longtime bartender had recently moved on and been replaced by Sydney, who was absolutely delightful. When she discovered we were celebrating my friend's birthday, she rallied everyone at the bar and throughout the lounge area to sing "Happy Birthday." The gesture was unexpected, heartfelt, and instantly made the evening feel special. As fate would have it, another guest was celebrating a birthday as well, so the entire group enthusiastically sang for her too. The bar clearly has a loyal following, as several regulars were gathered throughout the evening...a testament to the welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Syndey crafted custom cocktails for both my friend and me, working with only two instructions: tequila for her and vodka for me. The results were refreshing, creative, and expertly crafted. What could have been just another night out became a memorable birthday celebration thanks to the warmth, hospitality, and personal touches at W XYZ Bar. For that, I'm truly grateful.

He provided some good recommendations on cocktails. I was surprised to see the number of cocktails on the menu. I decided to go with the Freshen Up while my friend went with the Thin Mint Cookie. My drink had cucumber syrup in it. I'm a sucker for cucumber so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't care for this drink. It was so mint forward from the creme de mint that it over powered the drink. I felt like I was drinking mouthwash. My friend enjoyed her drink and said it tasted like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie in a glass. Though I didn't care for my cocktail, it wouldn't stop me from returning to try a different drink. I'll be sure to avoid any cocktails with creme de mint in the future.
