The only 24hr fast food place in EG besides Del Taco. So sometimes this is the only option. Which sucks bc the drive they line is always super long. How can Jack in the Box be so good and so horrible at the same time? This location, as with many others, is a bit of a pain. Upon entering the store, I noticed very few people--customers or employees. After a while, the staff finished with another customer. The manager went away for a while, and when she returned, she apparently logged out of the cash register, so the other employee could take my order. A third employee was making a smoothie or milk shake or something using an extremely loud machine. I'm not accustomed to shouting, even to order food, so we went back and forth a few times. As I heard the last bit, I gave him the change and a $20 bill. He put $20.10 instead of $20.12, so I ended up with a handful of change that was unexpected. I mentioned it, and he was struggling with it, and finally, he explained to the manager, and they resolved that. By that time, my food was ready, and he gave me a cup. The rest was satisfactory. I would fill out the survey with the company, but as many times as I've filled out the surveys, nothing seems to change. It's not as bad as going to McDonald's, but I always feel as though some service problem will happen, as I also do with Carl's Jr. At least, the food was okay. Be careful when paying for food with cash. The woman who took my money at store #3438 on 1/31/2022 10:11:31 PM shorted me $1 on my change. I'm supposed to get back $2.16 but she only gave me $1.16. I gave her a $20 bill. I don't know if it's intentional or if she doesn't know how to count money but can you imagine if she did this to 20 other cars how much she is getting in her pocket? My husband and I go to this location always because we have always been happy with them. However, yesterday 2/22/21 was bad and we were so disappointed with our food. He ordered a quad bonus jack but he was served a triple bonus. My supposed to be favorite chicken ranch came to me very dry, tough, and salty. It was so tough and dry that I could almost not bite into it so I had to trim the edges. We wanted to go back to get our orders replaced but we were starving so we just ate whatever we could. Worst jacks in the world. Do not go. They take your mobile order then you arrive and the line moves one car every 10 minutes. So four cars in front of you means 40 minutes. I was charged nearly 19 dollars only to get medium regular cokes, three cheesecakes and the churro she were half assed thrown into the small fries wrapper. To top it off no one even gave me a receipt! When I went into the store to ask for the large drinks (ya know, since I paid like 3 dollars each for them) some snarky little teenager tells me they don't have Vanilla Coke and was shocked to hear I wanted my receipt. I find their commercials amusing. Whenever I was hungry late at night, Jack in the Box was one of the places I went. I always got their tacos and seasoned curly fries. The tacos aren't anything special, just cheap. Curly fries are my favorite kind of fries. After not eating here for the longest time, I was looking forward to them. They didn't taste as good as I remembered them to be. Maybe it wasn't a fresh batch. I also came here to try one of their newer items- crosscut sweet potato fries. The order taker never sounds too bored (or is at least, really good at hiding it). And the food is always hot. And nothing yucky has made an appearance. Just got home after getting food for the family on the way home. Well I opened the bags and the burger was not the correct one. I ordered the bbq bacon and got a regular cheeseburger. Then I had ordered a large meal and 2 large fries.....opened the bag had 2 large fries and 1 small. I understand they had a long drive thru line but for how long each of us had to wait at the window while they grabbed our food you think the order would be correct. I wouldnt be so upset but this is not thw first time this location has gotten my order wrong. Guess I will have to start pulling over and open everything before leaving the parking lot. Only two stars solely for the fact that this is only one of two fast-food place in elk Grove that is 24 hours a day. Generally Jack in the box is my last choice when ever fast food is concerned, just putting that out there. I usually eat here 4 nights a week, always at 2 am. And this is the 4th time in a row that this has happened, pretty much the same way, except last night I was with a group of friends which made it so much worse. Last night I just had the worst food. Everything was cold. Every single munchie meal we got was off, the onions on the nacho burger being burnt, soggy, and cold, and the grilled cheese burger having a cold burger patty and cold cheese sauce. Just been such a let down. We threw away the food because we were scared to eat the unsafe food and just got on the freeway and Drove to florin road to the Burger King there, which is also 24 hours a day. Waste of gas but at least the food is served to me hot. And I guess I don't understand. jack in the box is always busy cause it's the only place in elk Grove basically,but definitely not because of the quality of food. Got the taco combo meal today and it was delicious! I usually don't go to Jack at all, but today I was starving and wanted something different. The taco shells were crispy and the meat inside was surprisingly tasty and has a way different taste than the meat you'll get in tacos from both Taco Bell and Del Taco. The sauce used on the tacos is delicious as well, almost like a classic taco sauce. The curly fries hit the spot. One major plus is that they weren't overly greasy and were still crispy. No overload on the salt either. Tasted fresh! If I ever come to Jack again, it'll be for their tacos and curly fries. I'm not much of a burger person. This lady who was working the window had the ordasity to scream at me "you need to be quiet!" through her headset because she couldn't figure out how to turn it on and off. She was rude as hell to about three of my co-workers before me and by the time I got there it was a wrap and she just let loose. So I pulled up and when she tried to tell me she told me to hang on and I said no you just don't know how to use your headset and that's not my fault she replied with "well are you getting something or not?!"
