Very good food at Jack's. I've tried the tri tip sandwich and it was filling and tasty. But definitely left smokey burps after. The only other imperfect thing about the food is the sweet potato fries (up charge $1.50 instead of regular french fries) are not as sweet as I'd like. The delicious salmon is great on their blackened salmon cobb salad. Left me feeling satiated. I also enjoyed the nibble I had of the chicken strips. Counter service is pretty quick. Look for the menus on the waist-high walls near the front of the line. The restaurant is on the east end of Leohmann's Plaza. Great outdoor patio on the east side is open on the sides but covered. I've been to Jacks a few times, always get the steak salad- which turns out pretty tasty. This last time I got my order to go, specified I wanted something different done to my salad, got it home and the order was wrong. Jacks is one of the best places for a salad. Particularly if you get the dill dressing. The fries (urban variety are my pick) are really good too. The last time I was here the cashier complained at us over having the line go in the wrong direction then helped the people behind us first. Tritip Plate: tri tip with mashed potatoes and green beans My first time here and the food was pretty good. Good portions and it was delivered quickly and efficiently. Fun upbeat environment. Would have easily been 5 stars BUT I was so appalled by the company's suggested tips. 5% 10% 15% and other. A decent tip is at least 20%! People in this industry survive off tips! And let's be honest most people don't want to hold up the line or inconvenience anybody by sitting there trying to figure out what 20% is so they just click one of the gratuities suggested and move on to keep the flow going. It's a fast paced transaction. I guess if I have to hold up the line in order to leave a decent tip I will, and I did. I left 25%. I can only imagine how much the staff here is losing out on in tips due to the extremely low suggested amounts. At minimum 10%, 15% , and 20% should be suggested! They don't serve burgers. You get in line, grab a menu, and order at the front of the service line--a bit counterintuitive because you'd think you'd order at the counter. The person who takes your order gives you a slip with your order checked off on it, and then you have the option to add on sides (mashed potato, corn, etc.) The food is served cafeteria-style; pretty much all pre-cooked and assembled to order. Then you pay at the end where the register is, take a number, and your food is served immediately. My sandwich and my friend's salad were ready by the time we paid, and our fries came out maybe a minute afterwards. The serving sizes are pretty skimpy for what it is. I ordered a classic tri-tip sandwich which included two slices of roast beef, two tomato slices, lettuce, mayo, a pickle spear, and pepperocini. I was surprised by how small the sandwich was for $9.50. It was on a hamburger bun-sized roll, but didn't have much filling. I also got a small order of garlic fries for $3.95. Perfectly well-seasoned and crispy. My friend had the urban fries (ranch and chili oil) which had a bit of a kick to them--also super tasty! The sandwich I had just tasted ok. I wouldn't get it again. The ingredients seemed moderately high-quality and the service was great, but my meal (~$16 post tax and tip) didn't seem like a super great value. Such a bummer to find out they use canola oil in their dressings. A simple balsamic vinaigrette should be olive oil and balsamic vinegar yet they use canola oil. I typically enjoy this restaurant and location, but service today was awful. I ordered the salmon plate which comes with mashed potatoes. The option was with or without gravy. I asked for no gravy, but asked if I could have butter and sour cream. The young lady at the register was very rude and said "we don't have that, you either get gravy or no gravy." She enjoyed her sandwich but what was definitely the star of the show was their ‼ Chili flake blue cheese French fries ‼ These are delicious! Not too many flakes so it's not over powering. The spice is super subtle and is drowned out by the delicious blue cheese dressing they put over the fries. I appreciate that the blue cheese isn't super chunky, this was my first time enjoying the flavor of blue cheese. Definitely coming back for these fries. (I could eat these everyday because the portion size for the small box is perfect for 2 people to snack on. It's enough fries to hold you over for a couple hours till you eat your actual meal. The last couple times we've visited this Jack's, the service has been pretty bad. This past week, we came back with about an hour left till they closed. Not incredibly busy inside but the salad ingredients were not being refilled. We had to wait for our person to grab each ingredient we wanted from the back. When ordering our food, the woman helping us was not very friendly and was having a hard time taking simple ingredients for a custom salad. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times for one salad. Anyway, we paid for our items to go and waited. We brought the food home only to notice the dressing for one of the salads was missing. I know we should've checked before leaving the restaurant but we drove back to get it. Upon showing the receipt to the same woman who made our salads, it seemed as if she didn't remember us from 10 min ago. She uncomfortably agreed to get the dressing for us but never apologized for the whole thing. Nothing. Not even a have a good night. Just pushed it to us at the counter and walked away. The chicken Caesar salad was dry, missing a lot of dressing. Additionally, the portion size was about half the size as it used to be but the prices haven't changed. I don't think the full size salads should be smaller for a take away order. Anyway, we weren't impressed by the sub-par service and just already food. It's like this place is run by a bunch of young people with some who do not care about their job. I hope their manager is more capable and able to educate them on customer service. read more

Not the best experience for us today. It's hard to go wrong with Jack's Urban, but at this location, I seem to always encounter a problem even when it's not busy. This is the 3rd time. We ordered the Cheese Steak sandwich, but got a Tri-Tip sandwich instead. I ordered the Turkey Plate with a side of Mac-n-Cheese and Mash with Gravy, but got mash with Veggies instead. Lastly, our large Garlic Fries were just regular fries. We did not realize our to-go order was wrong until arriving at home. I don't live next to Loehmann's Plaza, so the thought of having to return for a correction would be an inconvenience. The sandwich was meh for the price. Felt like a kid-sized sandwich with hardly any meat. I enjoyed my turkey plate, but did not feel for the veggies as they're under-seasoned and the green beans are not cleaned properly (stems and veins left intact). I usually have the salmon or chicken and are the most, Yum. Always a smile on the faces of the staff, they are joyful and pleasant to be around. If you want a quite dining experience do not come here. If you are a vegan, vegetarian, on the keto diet, or just want to have a good prime rib sandwich then this would be your spot. Food: I always get their sandwiches here, and I highly recommend the reuben and pesto chicken! Mmm, you can see them cooking in front of you, and the food always looks fresh. If you can, order the garlic fries here! They taste like high-quality fries that you would order at a ball game or arena event. I LOVE it. My boyfriend enjoys the sweet potato fries as well. There is nothing to complain about. Service: No matter how busy this place gets, I swear I always get my food in under 15 minutes. They're friendly and punctual. LOVE IT! Parking: It's in Lohman's plaza..so if you come here anytime except lunch or dinner, you'll find parking. Parking's kinda hard when it's the lunch rush since it's close to many office buildings. Not at all up to par!last few take out orders have been questionable with this one certainly hitting rock bottom. We got our usual order which a three salads. I got the wrong dressing which really took my meal on a bad turn plus the pieces of steak were microscopic. My daughter ordered the salmon on the side and we didn't get it. We called to ask for a credit for the salmon. They didn't seem to care and then we snuck in we got the wrong dressing on mine and they didn't even apologize. Passing on Jack's Urban Eats for a while. My go to was a create your own using all the ingredients in the steak salad plus I would get to pick three more items. I love strawberries and Fuji apples plus I like adding dried cranberries. When I got to this location, you're still not allowed to watch them make your salad, so I placed my order and added cheesy bread. I took my order home and the first thing I noticed was the lack of any of the condiments I crave. Really? One strawberry cut into fourths. Three pieces of apple. 6 croutons. There were lots of cranberries, tho. Very little steak. But the worst part was the cheese bread. They are not using the same recipe as before. It tasted stale and gross. I used to love eating this salad, but if this is their new "normal", I won't be coming back. read more
