The staff was super friendly and I thought the acai bowls were well priced at $11 (I may be biased though, because I live in Seattle and all the food here feels overpriced.) Please keep in mind I'm a designer who's been to many many shops in Seattle, Berlin, and Portland and my review is coming directly from my experience. The coffee is some of the best in the area. Not overly dark roasted (which is rare for Edmonds) and the shots are wonderfully pulled. It's also the only place in the area that you can get a pour-over. Not quite a craft coffee bar but close. The food is excellent and the treats (especially the Finale's banana bread) go perfectly with the coffee. However the shop lacks vibe. I don't feel welcomed by the ambiance, music, and layout. It doesn't feel like there's a cohesive theme behind it. The closest thing to this is the comfy couch in the corner but other than that it feels kind of like a Jamba Juice. I think it has all the potential for vibe though. The new foliage out front is making the area feel more like an oasis rather than a parking lot, the coffee is so good it could easily be paired with a chill and refined atmosphere. I'm very optimistic about this team bringing wonderful mouth content to an area so close to my home and I'm excited to see it grow. read more

COVID-19: We were allowed to enjoy our goodies inside on 9.18.20. We were the only customers to sit in though, and I think just one other person came in to order while we were there. This was at 4:30 PM so almost closing time. I'm unsure if dine in would be more limited if there had been more people. Parking: The plaza it's located in has a parking lot. PB Power Bowl $8.75: I first tried acai bowls in Oahu so that's pretty hard to top. While Oahu still has first place in my heart and stomach, I still enjoyed our bowl at Jaiiya. I thought one bowl was good for sharing between 2 people. The topping to acai ratio was great and I got a good mix with each bite. Cheese Danish $2.75: I felt compelled to order this because I missed out on a cheese Danish at a different bakery I went to a couple days prior. The cashier offered to warm it up for me which was really nice. It was OK. I wouldn't come back specifically for it, but if it was there and I was in the mood for one then sure. Dalgona $4.75: I had seen this drink all over social media but was too lazy to make it myself. I was happy to finally get the opportunity to try one without the effort, but honestly I don't get the hype. At least now I know. Each coffee drink seems to come with a Biscoff cookie which is nice. This drink does not have a decaf option, but the cashier wrote that feedback down so she could let the owner know. I visited Jaiyya Cafe on their 2nd day of opening last week. The interior was well lit with floor to ceiling windows, bringing in lots of natural ambient lighting which gave the place a nice warm and cozy feel on a sunny day. The location of this neighborhood coffee shop is very convenient, however access was a bit tricky as there are no left turns to get into their parking from Edmonds Way nor 100th Ave. W. I do a lot of business meetings at local coffee shops and it's hard to find a quiet coffee shop to bring my business associates to for a casual meeting or interview. This coffee shop is the perfect meeting spot! The only thing I wished was that there were more soft seating just in case their comfy leather sofa and 2 leather chairs were already being taken once we'd get there. The wait staff was all very friendly and cordial. We ordered the Chase which was an almond butter and rasberry jam sandwich served on artisan bread. I also ordered the Turkish Eggs and their Matcha salad. Both were delicious and came with amazing presentations. Last but not least was their dalgona coffee!! It's buttery smooth. You have to try it--it's fantastic! I don't think I saw it on their menu but just ask for it. You won't regret it. read more

An irresistible hidden gem! The Ube Dalgona and Prosciutto Happiness had my husband and I coming back a few days a week. The fruit smoothie bowls are delightfully sugar packed and come with plenty of toppings. The avocado toast is surprisingly spicy and has a variety of unique toppings like walnuts and everything bagel seasoning. The food takes about 10-15 minutes to prepare since it's made just for you by the wonderful staff. The place has your average coffee shop feel but not too personal. My main issue was with their online ordering system (and the service of one staff member). I ordered online at 1:30pm, which told me my order would be ready in 15 mins (1:45pm). I was in a hurry and didn't have much time to get off my car and wait, which was why I did the online order. Immediately, at 1:30pm, I got a text saying my order was ready to be picked up. Well, I planned to be there at 1:45pm, so I was concerned that the drinks would be sitting on the counter for 15 mins. When I arrived at 1:45pm, there was no one in line. I asked for my order, and 3 staff members looked around a bit, then said "oh ok, we'll make your drinks now". I said "oh I thought I could just pick up and go", obviously looking like I was in a rush. I ended up standing around for 10 mins as one of the baristas made my 2 drinks VERY SLOWLY. I usually love this place; however, today I went in during my 30 minute lunch break which usually gives me plenty of time to get an açaí bowl AND eat it. Today, they were slightly busier than normal but nothing too crazy. I ordered my bowl and about 5-7 minutes later watched them give a bowl (that had the same substitutions as mine which I thought was weird but they gave it directly to him) to an older man. He walked out and I had a feeling it may be mine but waited a few more minutes. They then called out his bowl and I explained that I think he took mine. There really aren't that many places that serve acai bowls in Seattle, or even Washington, and so it excites me to find places that actually do make them because I love myself a super fresh and delicious acai bowl. I wanted to check this place out, and see what they're all about before driving down to school. Originally I was just gonna get an acai bowl, but I ended up also getting an avocado toast, and a prosciutt of happiness just because they looked super good, and it would help hold me over for the day. Man, when we were waiting for our food, and it was getting prepared, I could just smell the beautiful aroma of whatever they were making, even through my mask. It smelt so heavenly. I was just thinking, if the smell is anything like the flavors of the food, then I'm in for a real treat. Anyways, when we got our food, and opened up the box, it looked so beautiful, and so aesthetically pleasing, but also looked very appetizing. First off, the prosciutt of happiness. This was probably my favorite dish of the morning, but it was a close race witg the avocado toast. But, I really love the name of the dish. Anyways, that butter croissant that they used as the bread was phenomenal. I really didn't expect the actual croissant to be so flaky, buttery, and crisp. It definetly set the bar for the whole sandwich, but also on it's own, the croissant would be really good, and yall know I love some good croissants. Every other component in the sandwich was super fresh, and there were so many different textures, and aromas and flavors that all worked together in harmomy to make a really solid sandwich. You have the flakiness from the croissant, bitterness and frehsness from the arugala, and a creaminess and that pungent richness from the garlic, and herbiness from the basil. For my liking, there was a bit much aioli and so I just got a huge mouthful of cream. Just a lot going on, but a lot going good for the sandwich. Then of course, the prosciutto and that poached egg! The prosciutto added that salty component the sandwich needed to be complete, but that poached egg! The egg really elevated the dish, and finished what was already a solid sandwich off even better. It really was poached perfectly though, and, oh man, that egg yolk oozed out and coated everything (even my hand ) in a luscious golden sauce. It was delicious, and was quite delightful. Next, the avocado toast. I mean, this was a nother dish that was executed extremely well. But that walnut bread they used was SO crisp and crunchy, and also toasted to perfection. Everything else also worked in harmomy, plus you also have several different textures and flavors, but what I love most was the pop of color from the watermelom radish. Yes, it also added a freshnessnand a crunch but it made the avocado toast look more beautiful. Then of course the poached egg on top was also perfect and oozed all that glorious and luscious egg yolk all over like a luxurious sauce. Overall, really delicious as well. Finally, the acai bowl, "the classic..." To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the acai bowl, and I really thought that was what they specialized in. It really could've been better in a couple places. I mean, it did taste very fresh, and all the fresh fruit were very fresh as well. The thing is, the actual acai part had an overpowering banana flavor, and I couldn't necessarily taste the acai. Also, I'm not a big fan with the acai part is liquidy, I really like it when it has that sorbet texture and you can kind of eat it like ice cream, but again that's just preference. I still finished it, but it kind of disappointed me because it's so hard to find a good acai bowl up in the PNW. If the toast and sandwich weren't so amazing, then I'm not sure if I would come here again. Overall, this is a really solid place, in a nice area, but of course there could be slight room for improvement, but I will definitely be checking this place out before school if it weren't for those sandwiches and toasts! read more
