Wow, this place exceeded our expectations. We wanted to find a place that would serve breakfast a little later, then mini cafés offer. They're open daily from 8 to 3, so this fit the bill. Recently came here for a slightly early breakfast on Saturday 5/17/25. Got there about 8:55am. Promptly seated ourselves. Waiting staff came by and took our orders by 9:00. Food was good but extremely overpriced and we proceeded to wait at least 45 minutes for our food while several different parties were served before us (parties that arrived and ordered after we had). We ordered 2 cafe de olla, one order of challah French toast, one egg & bacon plate, and a kids pancake plate with apple juice and a side of bacon. At $70 (before tip) I can't say I will be returning or recommend others to as well. I'd much rather go to country harvest and spend $20 less for better service and better food. read more

After the disappointment at Sirendipity Cafe (waiting for 30 minutes and having to walkout because we were never served) we came here and as we walked in we were greeted and seated and given our drinks right away! We have eaten here 1/2 dozen times and always great food and always great service!! This past Saturday we took our 23 year old daughter with us. She was torn, she wanted the breakfast burrito or pancakes. She went with the pancakes and then decided to go with the chocolate chip pancakes. Which we laughed at because she's 23 and her dad jokingly told the waitress to make sure they brought Mickey Mouse pancakes to her. We laughed.! Well this is what came to the table!! OMG! My favorite breakfast spot. I love their eggs Benedict. I am very picky about how hollandaise sauce is prepared - they do a pretty good job, far better than most. Nice selection breakfast and lunch items. They have a little bit of Mexican food mixed in and cafe Ole for those who are so inclined. My husband attempted to order online as it says on website but directs you to call it in but it was a voicemail so he decided to go in and order to go. He ordered chicken fried steak with over medium eggs n hash browns the receipt got it right but the actual order was a thin piece of supposed to be a steak it was pretty tough to eat. There must be some part of a chicken fried steak and a regular steak that had a miscommunication there. read more

We loved the eggs benedict, both the regular and smoked salmon. The food here in general is very good. The reason for not giving five stars is the cleanliness, especially the sticky tables. This is after a couple of visits at different tables. It would also be great to have more than two tables outside. Overall good place; please just do a better job of cleaning! read more

Delicious cafe de olla. I had the Chile verde omelette, it was good. The tots are pretty amazing, don't know why. Possibly the fact that they're crisp, but truly the star of the show is the cafe de olla. I don't live in the area but definitely make the trip. read more

This place is small, but their breakfast foods pack a delicious punch! Definitely worth the visit. Crispy Huevos Rancheros were really quite good! We also got the Grandma's Chile omelet (Pork Green Chile) with home fries as a side. It was all delicious. But if I had to choose between the 2, I'd go with the Huevos Rancheros. Service is very friendly, respectful, and helpful. I'd definitely go back! There are some outdoor 2 top tables outside also. read more

First time here, and it was such a pleasant experience. We were greeted warmly, with service continuing to be on point until we left. We had the chorizo omelet and the soup/sandwich combo. My boyfriend chose the albondiga soup and BLT. Everything we ate was good with large portions. Warning: If you're sensitive to spice, the albondiga brought the heat. I personally enjoy heat but don't typically find it in albondiga soup. It's a small cafe, but the warmth of the place makes it feel larger. I am such a creature of habit. When I find something I like at a restaurant, it's difficult for me to try new items or change things up. However, I don't always feel like eating breakfast foods. I actually tried something new at Jarro's and ordered their 9-grain tuna sandwich, which is another winner. Loads of tuna, with cucumber slices, avocado slices, tomato in between 2 slices of 9-grain bread. Once again, everything is incredibly fresh and tasty, not to mention, overflowing with lots of each ingredient, and it was delicious !! It came with a side, and I chose garlic fries, and of course, they were excellent. I could really taste the garlic, no skimping on that, either. Between their 4-item omelette and this sandwich, I have two go-to items when I order from here. I probably won't deviate from these 2 things, but I'm fine with that. I love this place !! read more

Who knew such an awesome breakfast place would be located in this strip mall?! Came here with my family because we needed to pick something up from Simi Valley. Searched yelp and found this gem! It was a bit packed on a Saturday morning, which is normal, especially since it's a small spot. They do take reservations so it was nice to know that. Fortunately, a table cleared up and we were able to sit down fairly quickly. The coffee was fine, but it came in a really cool cup which gave the entire restaurant a nice home-y touch! The food is really what stood out. I got a salmon burrata avocado toast, which I was originally not too stoked about since all the other food looked so good, but I wanted to stay healthy. So happy I did though! The salmon was a really good lox and there was A GIANT hunk of REAL burrata!! Not even mozzarella, but an actual burrata ball! It also came with 2 poached eggs on the side and tater tots! Super yummy and for only $13 for all that food, great deal. My boyfriend got the chilaquiles which were also great. They had a great kick and the chips were perfectly sauces yet crispy. He wiped that plate clean. My mom got the eggs Benedict which did not disappoint either. You could really tell the hollandaise sauce was made in house, which is much appreciated. My dad got the country fried steak I think. I still dream about those biscuits .... All in all, Simi Valley is a little far from my home to go get breakfast, but if anyone is ever near here, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

This is a great breakfast joint that has a great menu of options. I've tried the following dishes so far 1. Huevos ranchero- the eggs are cooked to your preference. Over easy was perfect with the eggs oozing all over the tortilla chips that are soaked in sauce and topped off with cheese. The plantains were a nice texture and the black beans were fresh and flavorful. 2. Green omelet- the eggs were wrapped separately around the veggies and fried and not as soft as other veggie omelets. It's a nice mix of veggies but it's all drowning in a lot of pesto goat cheese. It sounds like a healthier omelet but it was a heavy one that I wouldn't order again. 2. Eggs Benedict- the eggs are perfectly poached, the ham was thinly sliced and stacked and the English muffin is light and fluffy. The hollandaise is on the heavy side but not salty. They also serve a traditional cafe de olla in a clay mug that is a very nice touch. It's brewed fresh and the mixed with a nice amount of cinnamon sweetness and piloncillo. UPDATE: Management was kind enough to refund me for the meal I had, and because of that, I'm giving them the stars they deserve for their good customer service. Everyone has an off meal every now and again, but it's the customer service that makes you want to come back and they definitely have good customer service. Previously had good meals here but the steak and eggs was really not worth the price. I ate about 10% of my meal before asking for my check. The biscuits were greasy on the bottom (for a few, not all), and the steak was terrible (and I don't say that out of exaggeration). It was the thinnest, chewiest, most greasy steak I've ever had. There was hardly any breading to speak of. The customer service was 'nice' but a bit too formal for a breakfast and lunch spot and definitely didn't make for a relaxing meal. The coffee was watery and unfortunately that's just how it's always been at past meals but I would always overlook it. I would've preferred it if they had offered to refund me the $20.90 I paid for the half a biscuit and maybe three bites of steak that I ate but that wasn't the case. My friends and I came to Jarro's for brunch the other Sunday. When we arrived it seemed pretty busy, so we were told to wait for about 15 minutes. After waiting, my friend went in to see if a table was ready and the woman working at the register told her we could sit outside in the tent. We were confused since we didn't think we could seat ourselves, but we went anyways. But, when we sat down we were questioned by the staff about why we just sat ourselves. It was confusing. I ordered the Green's Omelet with tater tots. It was delicious. I loved the pesto that was inside the omelet. The tater tots were crispy and addicting. My friend got a burger and I got to have a few of her onion rings. They were really good. We asked for ketchup and hot sauce and the first waiter that we asked never ended up bringing them. After waiting a few minutes we asked someone else to bring them. Overall the food was great. Our waiter was great, but I can't say the same for the rest of the staff. read more
