Java Kai never misses. Mac nut latte is my favorite. Was sad they didn't have my summer noods dish again this year but the food is always ono. The stuff is always very friendly and communicative about the weight time. They're always so polite. Even when there's always a line out the door. It's a small Little shop but there's tables outside and inside and attached to a little swim shop next-door so you can get a little shopping in while you have your Coffee.

Great lattes, we loved our breakfast burritos, full of flavor "stuffed"... with spicy sauce. You can order online. Shaded tables under the eaves. Bagels, read to go- ground beans, burritos, lattes, coffee, iced drinks.

BEWARE: Coffee is TRASH. It is all HYPE. For the price of what I paid for only 2 drinks and they forgot all my add ons it was horrible. I got the iced Mac latte and Iced shark bite tastes nothing like the description online. They over filled one of my drinks and it was just spilling all over the counter they did nothing to help clean it up. As a local I was shocked. I spoke to another local company AFTER our visit with Java kai in Kōloa town and was told Java Kai is all hype and to not go there because their coffee is overpriced and not good.

Good and fresh, but really doesn't take that long!

OMG! We come here every time we visit Kauai. Their açaí bowls are always so yummy and refreshing. Still loving it very single time. This time also opted for the cold brew which hit the spot!

Rode my bike around Kapaa and got hungry. Found this cute restaurant that seemed very packed, so it must be popular. I overheard some younger adults saying they found this place on tik tok! The breakfast burrito with bacon and avocado was good. The strawberry matcha with oat milk was great! Will be back

100% Kauai coffee is amazing. Food was delicious. We got here early and sat outside. Service was Hawaiian speed.

We came to Java Kai twice for breakfast and everything was incredible. We tried the Rebel Bagel, JK Loco Moko, avocado toast, and the Portuguese sausage breakfast sandwich. Every dish was equally delicious and full of flavor! Service at the register could be a little nicer but the food made up for the short and direct communication.

Cute place bustling with clientele. Seating limited to indoors only due to the constant rain. So we got this order to go. I had the chance to try the interesting Portuguese sausage patty sandwich but it unfortunately wasn't what I expected which is on me deciding to try something new. Nothing bad the texture just kind of falls apart. Unlike the typical Portuguese sausage. The smoothie was good even though they ran out of ginger. We were there early morning. My latte tasted like watered down coffee. I suggest really looking into the menu before deciding what to order

This is a delicious coffee spot, they do get super busy and have a long line. This review is overdue from 2022 but this place left lasting impression! We loved stopping here daily for coffee before starting our Hawaiian adventure everyday, it was great to grab a nice latte some good and enjoy the ocean. They are fairly quick once you order but the line is long. We always took it to go so can't comment much on the interior ambience, but it's an inviting spot, a bit touristy but it works.

Pleasant service at a nice coffee shop. The coffee was delicious. We especially loved the coconut and macadamia flavorings. The breakfast sandwiches were generously portioned and the Spam was a nice addition while in the islands. The bread was a standout! My son's burger was delicious! A pricey breakfast, but everything was tasty.

We tried the Rebel Bagel and the sausage breakfast sandwich -- both were outstanding. My husband swore the sausage had chorizo vibes (in a good way), and I'm not arguing with him because it was delicious. The Rebel Bagel was like a chopped whitefish salad situation and honestly? Elite. Staff was super friendly, too. 10/10 would come back. The coffee was the star of the show.

Amazing!!! I absolutely fell in love with this place. It's definitely worth all the hype. Friendly service, delicious pastries and avocado toast. Last but not least my ice coffee. I forgot the name but it was definitely good. I will definitely come back again the next time i visit Kauai.

I gotta say, I generally don't like grabbing food for take-out, it just doesn't taste as good, nor is it as fresh, but this place was worth it. My girlfriend called ahead and found they had a pretty long wait time. Sucked for us, but it's a good sign when there's a line out the door of people waiting to be seated. I was only inside a brief moment to pick up the food, but staff was very friendly, and the hustle and buzzle of the place gave this brunch spot that air of "you will clean your plate, you will eat too much, and you will like it." We decided on the Kauai Benedict and it was phenomenal. Egg's were on point in flavor and texture, the sweet roll worked as the perfect vessel for the flavors, and the kahlua pork was fantastic, cooked well, and seasoned flawlessly. To top it all off, they honored our request for extra crispy hash browns. It really does make one wonder, how much better would things have been if we didn't have to order for take out and we had the chance to dine in? 5/5 experience.

We ordered the Lilikoi, Haupia, and Ube malasadas -- and WOW. All of them were so good, but the ube was our favorite! Soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and filled with so much flavor. You can really taste the freshness. The employees were also so sweet and kind, which made the experience even better. It's always nice to feel welcomed, especially early in the morning. Another big plus is the private parking lot with plenty of spaces -- super convenient! There's also lots of outdoor seating in a courtyard surrounded by beautiful plumeria trees (and some friendly chickens walking around), which adds to the whole island charm. The service was outstanding from the hostess, bar tenders, chefs and our wonderful server, Kapua!! She was so friendly and always checked on us without being intrusive. We have been on the island for 6 nights. Each evening we have tried Mai Tai's. Lava Lava's are by far the best!!! They are not too sweet and a good pour! We got there early as the other reviews said it gets crowded and they do not take reservations. We arrived at 5 pm on a Wednesday and were seated right away closest to the beach. For our starter we had edamame which was a large portion and so good. My husband ordered the Chicken Pineapple Rice Bowl and substituted the chicken for the coconut shrimp. The rice was AMAZING as well as the shrimp, but our only complaint was the portion was very small and was served with only 3 shrimp. The picture looks like you get a lot, but it came in a carved out SMALL pineapple. The presentation was beautiful though. I had the Ceasar salad and added chicken. It was so good!!! The lettuce was so crisp! Nothing worse than a Ceasar salad with wilty romaine lettuce. I've had plenty of those in my day. This was one of the best I've ever had! Everything arrived in a timely manner. We had a great night. Side note...they offer free valet parking which is at the very top of the parking lot. I have nothing but high praises for Lava Lava's beach club!! You must check it out for yourself. You will be so happy you did!

Other than that it seems to be a place that's been around a very long time, which has a certain charm of its own, yet equally a bit 'long in the tooth'. Located on the second floor of an older, historic type building on the main drag of Kaapa, it is very open air and very casual. We came for lunch and were seated right away, given a choice. It was suggested we sit on the 'ocean side with a view' which turned out to be the parking lot out back with a miniscule peek-a-boo view of the water. OK, now I understand why most folks sit on the street side. Service was friendly, casual and helpful, yet it was noted a wee bit "overwhelmed by the lunch crowd'. There weren't that many people. We got a beer ane a very sweet non-alcoholic drink. The beer was a Bikini Blond from Maui Brewing, very refreshing. We ordered off the daily special menu. I got the Tostada with Mahi ($33.).. Ed got the fish tacos with Mahi. Both platters were quite large and came out in good time. Ed enjoyed the tacos, and he is picky about ii, yet no way to pick them up and eat them with how they were served. My tostada was not really a tostada in a traditional sense, but merely two tortillas underneath a pile of black beans, lettuce, chopped tomato, etc. Plus a generous amount of fresh avacado which was the best part of the meal. The grilled Mahi on top was a nice sized piece but very undercooked. Since we were only given forks it was nearly impossible to cut or break apart to get bite sized chunks. It was frustrating. Ed 's Mahi chunks were far better cooked. So, just an OK meal, barely. This place has obviously been around a long time so must have a ffollowing. Again, probably best for drinks and appetizers.
