I know many fellow desi people who travel from NYC and NJ to eat at Jay Bharat in Artesia, CA-best tasting appetizers, thali's, dosas, deserts, sweets and delicious Indian snacks. With the above disclaimer, I am starting a petition to the owner of JB to remove Mr. Mayank (ZERO STAR) from dealing with loyal JB customers because we are never greeted with a smile nor made feel important as a loyal customer to JB no matter how much we buy or eat. I dread coming into the restaurant because of Mr. Mayank's cold customer service and blank stare. On the other hand, I walk up and down the street peeking inside the restaurant to see if I can only deal with Yuvraj bhai or Bhavan bhai. Both provide the best customer service and it is a delight to do business with them both. If other customers of JB agree, please send/repeat my suggestion to JB management because I rather go to a place where I am treated with dignity and made feel important as loyal customer. read more

Jay Bharat is good but to me it seems like the poor cousin of Surati Farsan Mart (I swear I won't mention SFM again in any Pioneer Blvd reviews again). I have eaten here many times, still I cannot recall any dish that particularly overwhelmed me. I remember trying the Kathiawadi thali once (available only on sundays I think) which was very good but kind of heavy. A lot of people (my wife too) love this place though. Its more like 3.5 but not quite a 4 for me. Maybe this place needs a little more pizazz; like a couple of flat screen tvs showing the current Bollywood hits to liven things up. read more

REVIEW FOR CATERING: We've catered from Jay Bharat on numerous occasions and I can't go one about how solid the food is! It's always on point and my family and I can't be any more loyal to this restaurant. Tehir gujrati food is really on point. We've been to a handful of wedding where they've catered lunch from there and it's never been short of tasteful. The quality is well maintained and you definitely get your moneys worth here. read more

NEVER. AGAIN. I don't even know where to start with this. Back when I lived in SoCal, I was a regular here, we came once a week. That was eight years ago. Was visiting SoCal this weekend for the first time since then and stopped by and honestly, it was bad. Crowded, everyone was screaming and shouting, the tables are pushed so close together that it's difficult to sit and eat without people crowding over you. Plus the food took forever to come out. We had to cancel a few items because they were taking too long and people who had ordered the same dishes after us had gotten them before us. When we'd asked a couple of times we were told to wait because the kitchen was busy. (Yes, it's a restaurant. That's to be expected. What's also to be expected is food in a quick, timely manner.) I'm just so beyond disappointed in Jay Bharat. This place used to be a lot better. read more

We are going for last so many years due to food quality and its simplicity. But for past few sat-Sunday noticed especially weekends food quality goes down and quantity too . But unfourtantely me and my family got sick after eating Punjabi north under thali options . I will prefer not to go in weekends any more . read more

Mango Lassi's were fantastic. We got a number of different dishes, all of which were quite. good. I thought the dosa was particularly excellent. I'm sorry I can't remember the names of everything else we tried (see pics!), but I thought everything we had was pretty good, so go ahead, be adventurous at Jay Bharat. Their thali is a joke. Please spend $4 more at Rajdhani and get unlimited. The amount of food in a thali is like kids meal. Their catering food is lot tastier than thali. It's a joke. Stay away. read more

More like a 3.5 star. Food came real quick. Gujarati dishes are their speciality. Khandvi was good. Pav bhaji tastes good too. Dosas are ok. I had spring dosa which was not so good. Paneer dosa was better. Chutneys need improvement. Sambar was decent. The place is more recommended for gujarati food. read more

I went to this place with big expectations after seeing reviews and was not disappointed. We ordered kathiywadi thali, appetizer platter and poori undiyu. Everything was delicious. I loved the kadhi khichdi which came with thali and it was so good I ordered more. I liked baajre ki roti too which was very soft and laced with ghee. Food is very simple, mild in taste but good on flavors. Must visit if you are vegetarian. This is one of the few restaurants I have found in California which deliver on delicious gujrati food read more

I didn't know it was all vegetarian but I ordered the panteer tikki masala with garlic nann and the spices were great! I ate here while getting my tire changed across the street. The food was hot and came out quickly. The gentleman taking my order were nice and helpful. I'd come back. Good food and clean. read more

This restaurant has been around for years. They know their food is good. That's why they probably do not care to give service to the customers. Well they are wrong. They should be giving best service. When you place the order, the associates are supposed to greet the customers. Well that's out of the door. There was no greeting or no thank you. In my limited experience with Indian food, I came here with my friend's recommendation and tried the mini thali, chole bhatura, and samosas. Best Indian food I've had so far. Wasn't a big fan of the falooda though. read more

I have visited this location long time ago, but I have very fond memories of eating typical gujju food at this location. Rotla, Undhiyu, Khichadi, etc. This area is 'flooded' with Indian Restaurants, but this place stands out for its authentic gujju food. I used to drive more than 30 minutes one way (in LA traffic !!) to visit this place - it was that good. I look forward to visiting it again when I am in that area. read more

Come here for the food, not the service. Favourites include Pav Baji, khandvi and dahi puri. I also enjoy the various veg curries with roti (sabzi) - kadhai usually excellent. Yes, the service sort of sucks but is not a disaster - please note that they also don't ask for a tip when ordering like some places wanting 20% and have the same levels of service. Yes, the owner could be friendlier and smile once in a while.... but at the end of the day the food is great and it is reasonably priced. They also are doing a good job during COVID. I went to Jai Bharat last Sunday (05/26/2013) with friend of mine and we had an amazing experience here. Food was super good, those Pani Puri, Ragda Petties, Mango Lassi and delicious Gujarati Thali (I feel like going there right now again :P) It didnt took long time for the food to arrive. This place was nicer and cleaner. People who work there are very friendly especially the old guy behind the counter. He is not that old but he was very nice to us and everyone there. Believe it or not I was very impressed by his service he provided to all those other senior citizens there. I have been to so many restaurants but I have never seen anyone taking good care their customers as this guy did specially to elders, not even in American restaurants. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place for excellent service. Food was great... Nice place to eat peacefully... Excellent customer service... What more do you want? :) read more

Came here to get a new experience as we read about this place on several Artesia tour sites. Unfortunately, the owners and staff were so unfriendly when we asked what to order. They were unhelpful and a bit rude. I also found their lack of care about the environment concerning. Styrofoam, plastic cups, plastic ware, and plastic ramekins are so wasteful. The owner is a prick. I went in to the store around 11:30 on a weekday morning with my two small children. Clearly, I had my hands full. After getting my order, we sat down at the table to eat a few of the treats we bought. I went to the front to ask for a spoon. The owner was standing behind the counter at the register. I asked him politely for a spoon. He motioned for me to ask the other man behind the counter. He didn't even have the decency to verbalize it just pointed his finger over his shoulder. Went back to looking at his register, as if I was bothering him. The owner was not helping anyone else. His hands were free. But he was too important to service his own customers. What a douche!!!! All i can say is... 'ORGASMIC' The dahi Puri here is amazing. So amazing that i will give up love from my 'boy toy' for a day just to eat dahi puri!!... wait... i take it back... never mind that, no need to go that far. This is the first ever review I am writing about any place! Reading all positive reviews about this place I went there for a Sunday lunch! The menu lacked flavor and variety. The food lacked freshness all the roti and naan looked like they just heated up the frozen ones available. Nothing was fresh. The service was pretty moderate only. Was not upto a restaurant standard.
