This restaurant came recommended to me by my new neighbors. Around the town of Deerfield this restaurant has a great reputation. It was on my list to try and so I was i glad I did. I suggest making a reservation. This place gets busy. The place is casual. The valet is $7. The restaurant is pretty big inside. The staff was great. They get things ready fast for you. The outdoor sitting area is huge. I liked it because I got to watch the people playing volleyball outside. They had a musician playing. I enjoyed it. The talking outside was a little loud for me. The food was delish. I liked that sweet butter the bread had. We couldn't get enough. They should sell it. We started or i started with the scallops. They tasted great. I then had the yellow tail and loved it. I was happy with dinner. The service was good. Our waitress checked on us. She gave us good recommendations. Family had dinner at JBs last weekend and it was great. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Hostess, servers and bartender very good. Just don't park valet. The "manager" of the parking lot, tall guy, could not be ruder to the elderly patrons. Leaves the cars running in the lot with driver doors opened and key in ignition. Extremely rude doesn't want to hear guests saying concerns. Ruined a great night hearing him talk to this poor older couple. Go to JBs just pay for parking elsewhere, not worth dealing with this jerk. read more

Let me start by saying, the food was amazing and so is the view of the beach. Thats why me and my friend picked this spot to meet and it did not disappoint on those two points. Now the service...the service was super disappointing. My friend just had a baby 8 months ago and we hadn't had a chance to catch up. So we decided JB's was a good place for us to meet. From the moment we sat down we felt rushed. Our server disappeared and then another server was pushing the check on us. Server did not ask if we wanted desert or anything. We werent there for 3 hours, we were not disruptive, but we felt pushed out. Baby wasnt causing a disturbance, in fact she slept for a good 20 minutes. There were empty tables near us so I don't understand the rush. This is not conducive with a good experience. Im sure this was a 1 off... or I hope it is. Cool, inviting spot right off of Deerfield Beach. You have the option to sit fully inside, inside covered, and outdoors right off the beach. Extra large drink menu with some cool options, it's not often you see Greek wine on a menu. Loved the wine selection, loved even more the spicy pineapple marg. It's Mother's Day weekend and I thought it would be nice to have dinner at JB's since it's on the beach. This was our first time here. I called ahead to find out the best time to come to be able to sit outside. She advised us to just come without a reservation and take our chances because it rarely takes longer than 30 minutes to sit. We got there about 6:30 and we got lucky to sit inside/outside under the awning on the patio. It was a fair location because we could enjoy the salt air and view the volleyball game on the beach. There is also a $7 valet cost to park - really no choice- There are steps going into restaurant and again down to the seating, however there are handicap accessible modifications throughout. They take that seriously. Alicia was our waitress. She was excellent-very caring, knowledgeable and accessible. She made good recommendations and we were happy with the choices. There is no happy hour on the weekends but we did start with drinks. I had their specialty Mom-Mosa which was delicious and refreshing. Paul had a Bloody Mary which he also enjoyed. We chose the DYNAMITE SCALLOPS 19 BAY SCALLOPS ON THE HALF SHELL BAKED WITH OUR SIGNATURE ASIAN STYLE CRAB CRUST, FINISHED WITH CILANTRO-INFUSED OIL & SCALLIONS creatively made in shells for our appetizer. It was different and delicious. Then Paul had VOLCANO CRAB CAKE 38 OVEN ROASTED WITH DYNAMITE CRAB TOPPING, OVER JASMINE RICE & WAKAME SALAD, FINISHED WITH SRIRACHA AIOLI, AVOCADO SALSA, SWEETY DROP PEPPERS, & CRISPY WONTONS. It was one jumbo crab cake. He enjoyed every last bite. We visited JB's Sunday July 5th. So glad we did. The food was great, and especially the ambiance. They had live music with an acoustic duo. We were singing along and clapping, so when they took their break, they came over to say hello. Carey and Karina were the duo and they were so talented! Really enjoyed this restaurant while visiting FLL. A lot of seating inside and out and the service was wonderful. We started with the Bocce Balls (mozzarella balls) and they were crispy and gooey. Tried the conch fritters and they had great flavor and good chunks of conch. I really enjoyed my fish and chips and the fruit salad. The coconut shrimp were huge and had great flavor. My friend really enjoyed the mahi mahi sandwich and the others had a basic breakfast and french toast. Everything was very good! Love that they had a good variety of options avail for everyone. My family got me and my husband a gift card for an engagement gift. They said they had been here and enjoyed a dinner here so they thought we would as well. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it wasn't great. We had been here once before and sat at the bar and didn't have a great experience then either. So I won't be coming back to dine here after being let down twice. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and sat outside. Our server was very friendly. They did get busy so it was a bit slower for service. The house salad is pretty basic. My husband got the stone crab and said they were okay they did come on a plate with ice that melted which didn't have a nice presentation. He said the crab cakes were okay. I got the ribs with chicken and it took a really long time for them to come out. The ribs were very dry and overcooked so made it inedible. The chicken wasn't seasoned or sauced when it came out. The redid my order and it still wasn't better other than the doused it in sauce to cover it all up. They said the ribs took longer because I have a slight seafood allergy which would have been nice to know ahead because I had to wait 45 mins for lunch to come out. I could have ordered something else. They brought my husband's food out 20 mins before mine which is kind of rude when you want to eat together. So he asked them to heat it up when my food came out and it came back soggy and the meat hard. The remade his and it was still a soggy bun. I will say the fries were good. The manager took our meals off for us which was nice seeing how I didn't eat mine and I was very unhappy after being there 3 hours. The server did bring bread out to hold me over. So I feel like the server tried and was nice about it although the manager you could tell doesn't like confrontation which is part of the job. Also the place needs to be cleaned. The bathrooms were not kept up and trash was overflowing and the outside patio was dirty with dirty menus. I usually don't write this much but I was pretty upset by the entire experience. read more

Brought my ladies group for a luncheon. It was my 1st time here. I was completely blown away by stellar service as well as the food being delicious. Wow! My mom and I visited my friend who lives near this restaurant. WOW! The food was so fresh and delicious. My friend and I ordered the lobster and shrimp salad. My mother ordered their lobster flatbread. The lobster and shrimp tasted really fresh to The ocean. Salad all veggies were perfect. The lobster flatbread was crisp and delicious. Met a small group of friends here last night on my final night in SoFlo for awhile. I shared the Paella with my friend There was a full rack of ribs a whole fish with phenomenal presentation and a lobster salad dinner. All the entrees looked great and tasted it too. The apps we had other than the oysters were pedestrian. Lobster pizza not even worth the $$$. ( They can do better given the quality of the entrees) . Server was a bit busy at first and we were a bit undecided so not a good mix. He was patient, understanding so it worked out in the end. Came here for my bday lunch and it was amazing. The day was beautiful and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and personable. She recommended good drinks. I had the crab cake sandwich and my guest had the burger. He wanted mushrooms and they really only do mushrooms with dinner but our waitress made it happen for him. Came out yesterday to listen to Vanessa and Beto, they are here every 1st and 3rd Fridays every month. Happy Hour available between 4 to 7 pm during the week. Appetizers are $8 each. Mojitos are $10. Huge kudos to our server Natalie who was awesome!!! We didn't have to ask for any refills, she checked on us appropriately and paid attention whenever we needed it. We also appreciated her recos. I love outdoor dining. We got blasted with a snowstorm in DC right before we left for a conference in Boca Raton. Looking for a casual beach dining spot and JBs on the Beach popped up in Deerfield Beach. Enjoyed a great fish sandwich at the bar. Drinks were good and the staff was great.
