I feel like the quality of the clothing is great but it is disappointing when you have to put your stuff down because the lines are so long and there is only one checker. When my hubby & I were in high school he got a job here & made me sign up for a credit card. 8 years later & I love having my Penneys card! Aside from all the awesome sales & coupons from JCP, I can use my card at CVS & Sephora.com too. Yesterday I bought 3 tops (all on sale) & used a $15 coupon, bringing my total to $50 & some change. Nationwide vision inside JC Penny provided poor customer service. The doctor was very professional and efficient but the office staff lacked the same qualities. My sister and I both had appointments for eye exams. After we were both seen, the doctor had us sign paperwork at the desk. This was handed to Stephanie working at the desk. Paperwork was taken to another desk and Stephanie grabbed her purse and walked out. She returned 40 minutes later. We waited that 40 minutes only to pay our co-pay and get our prescription. Stephanie claimed she had to leave because her husband locked himself out of his truck at a Circle K. Why Stephanie didn't conclude our visit before she left, we have no idea. To just walk out and leave us hanging, is unacceptable. Stephanie requested we return to pick out glasses and we advised we would not be returning to this center for any future services. read more

I do miss the old days in-which they still used coupons and discounts. I used to come out of there with bags of stuff for extremely cheap. Although there new deals are good, they just aren't what they use to be. All in all, you can't go wrong shopping at this location. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful and it is hardly every overly packed, even on the weekends. Win-win in my book! read more

JCP Photo studio is horrible. They don't deserve 1 star but I had to pick at least one. I has the worst experience, the AC was not working (apparently broke down 3days prior our visit), there were no working fans in the room, we had 2 babies under 8months old, 2 yr old & a 4 yr old all dressed up. They should of warned us before the appointment about the AC & specialy because we had small children. We were sweating, getting fluster, and kids were crying all due to the heat. There were 2 other employees at the front desk with a working fan that never bother to ask if we needed a fan. We thought of rescheduling half way into the photo shoot due to the lack of AC but we decided not to because our schedule was completely full of activities. We had a family gathering in Arizona, but some of us live in Vegas, NV and the others in Frederick, Maryland. This experience was by far the worst experience I ever had in your studio. We wanted our pictures sooo bad that we would of spend a decent amount of money but your photographer was not knowledge of your packages and was getting fluster with all the heat too. We end up walking out of there only purchasing the CD because we were very annoyed. Is sad so say this because our extended family always uses JCP photography but after this incident we will never go back again. Who ever is in charge of the photography studio at that store is doing a terrible job at teaching their employees manners and making them knowledgeable of the different photography packages. There is NO excuse to have the AC down for days in the middle of summer in the desert. read more

First shopping stop in ages. Sad. Who ran this chain into the ground? Store is incredibly dated and one has to search entire floor to find sales help. Cashier said it is called "skeleton" crew but I think she needed roller skates. Customer base at PV Mall site is the over 65 age bracket. When they loose this group--who will replace them. I foresee a huge struggle ahead that may not be overcome. The only positive was the low prices on some household goods. read more

I've been buying the same style and size slippers for years, but this time the right foot seemed too small. I went to do a return / exchange. I wasn't able to do the exchange at a cashier counter, I was directed to a hallway past the optical department. There was nobody there so I waited thinking someone would come out from behind the wall soon. After a few minutes I noticed a bell on the counter which I dinged. There was a voice from behind the wall but I couldn't make out what was said. I waited patiently until the staff member came out. I sensed that she was not in a good mood. I didn't bother explaining that I thought the right foot of the slipper might be defective. She didn't appear like she would care. I just told her it was the wrong size. I was given a return on my credit card. This experience was not the best. This Penney's employee is not a customer friendly person. I give her 1 star. But, things got better. When I went to the slipper department to get my exchange the slippers were on sale so I was able to get my slipper plus a 2nd pair for 50% off. The cashier who rang me up was very nice. Her name is Vianey and she works in the Sleepwear department across from the salon. I give her 4 stars. 4 stars minus 1 star = the 3 star rating. read more

In the past we purchased an awesome sectional from a leather furniture store but wanted to check JC Penny before investing at the leather store. The leather store ignored me anyway. Love this store. My latest trip ended there after 6 hours and 6 stores looking for a fancy dress for my 12 year old niece. SW Low and behold this is where we found one. She will be the bell of the ball at the sweet sixteen party we are attending on Long Island. Can't wait. Oh and it was priced great and I checked in on Yelp for an additional 15% off. Yay! To see her smile after 6 hours of looking was a joy! She must have tried on 3-4 dresses at each store. read more

I had glasses made a little over a year ago and in January I took them back in to the optical department. The lenses had cracked and bubbles. I was told that this happens when you live in Arizona. What?! Such an insulting response. I would argue that this happens when you have a defective product. I was a few weeks over the company warranty period, but the store manager named Gloria said that she's seen customers out of warranty and the company takes care of it so I left the glasses. After many phone calls I'm now told that they'll replace their defective product at 50%. Which is insulting as I still live in AZ and their defective product will once again bubble and crack. I would recommend finding a new place for your eyewear needs. JC Penney has a reputation that mirrors their product. Less than acceptable quality. read more

Terrible customer service. I place a call at 1:40 pm on 7/11/20. Operator was very rude answering phone. Tone of voice was very bad like she did not want to be there. I asked for jewelry dept and she hung up on me. I called back and her tone was again bad and did not even respond when i asked to be transferred. Not even one moment i will transfer you Thank you for calling. The lady who answered in jewelry was not much better as far as customer service. I purchased a ring over $1100 and a had it sized when i first purchased in Feb. I had to call Pennys myself because i was never called that the ring was done. A prong fell off, so i took it to Pennys to have repaired. SInce i did not get called the last time i called to check status. I introduced myself to the employee who answered and said I wanted to check it ring was back. Her first response was, "well probably not because we would call you. I said ok Thank you and hung up. So disappointed as in this day and age we all need more kindness. read more

I ordered a mattress from here and it was too soft for me, so I wanted to return it for a firmer one. Came in within the 48 hour return window and had to wait about 1.5 hours for a sales person and two different managers to figure out how to even process the return and order a new one. Then about another 45 minutes to find the product online that was on the showroom floor. Then, when we finally purchased the order, $700 later, they had placed the order for the wrong sized mattress. They told me that even though they cancelled the order immediately it would take 5-7 days for the money to return to my card. So I'm supposed to pay another $700 and be out $700 for a week... thankfully my bank was helpful enough to put the money on my card immediately. The actual sales person was very apologetic and kind but I will never order.. anything here again. It was very unprofessional and very disorganized. Please order mattresses elsewhere. read more

I came into the salon where I scheduled an appointment ahead of time. Upon check in no only was I made to wait I didn't get to the hairstylist station until 30 minutes after my scheduled time. She did not clean her station and had left over hair from the client before me all over the floor and on the chair were she wanted me to sit. Gross. Overall I am just upset and thankfully I did not get any major service done, just a trim. read more

Thanksgiving day sale. Wait in line for an hour and a half only to have a store clerk come out and offer a credit card discount to anyone who wanted to sign up. Needless to say the crowd made a mad rush towards her, all the while she screams to get back. Very very poor planning by management. Everyone who waited in line for hours ends up in the rear. JCPenny Corporate should be ashamed if this was their idea. So much for making a declining brand any better. Made appt to get family pictures taken. Arrived 5 minutes early. Going on an hour and still waiting to go back. Nearly impossible to get whole family together or I would leave. Purchased a Lane Sofa Recliner set from nice lady at JC Penny. We ordered the extra special "warranty". We got the sofa and the arms were low in filler fabric and the seat trim was unraveling after a few months. We called warranty service that said it wasn't covered! Frustrated we called JC Penny and they did send someone out to honor the repair. Now the pull cord for recliner came completely out of its mechanism. Have been waiting now for the repair parts and no one at the JC Penny Furniture Repair seems to be able to function. We had a repairman call us at 6:45am(!) yesterday to come out but he knew nothing about any parts ( we have to pay the repairman). It has been going on now for several weeks and we are just about to toss the sofa and go look for a new one! As nice as the lady at the store was- the people behind her are not really behind her and in my opinion , the sofa should have been replaced after the first issues- it has been downhill all the way. I say- fix the issue Penny's or stop selling furniture. read more
