I have renewed my service and oil delivery contract with the company, four years in a row. Twice, the most recent being last night, I have called upon the emergency service to correct an oil burner malfunction. The technician responded within an hour and spent over an hour correcting the problem. As a homeowner for over fifty years who has utilized oil heating in out of State locations, I have yet to know an oil company that responds to late night calls in such a timely fashion as Jennings. Have been trying for months to be taken off auto delivery, but they keep delivering oil when not needed, and billing extortionate prices in the middle of spring & summer. At the very end of my tether. Communication and professionalism gets a highly frustrating, dishonest and expensive score of zero. New note: They are saying they will finally take me off auto pay, but only after bringing more oil and charging me a fortune for oil I do not want. read more

The oil service team is great. During our yearly service Oswin found that we had a pinhole leak in our oil tank and stopped oil delivery. I don't think anyone has every evaluated the tank and am so appreciative. This could have been disastrous situation. Thank you Oswin! The tank replacement team John, Brandon and Shane did a great job. They explained what they were doing, and were so careful not to damage the house as they had to remove the old heavy tank. They saved me money by confirming the remaining oil was still good and pumped it into the new tank. Everyone was great throughout the process from start to finish and I am grateful. read more

My boiler kept cutting off... They sent a check out... On the first day he was here for an hour inspecting our system, but didn't turn it on ( basic troubleshooting ). On the second day, he spent about three hours working. When he was finished, he cut the boiler on ( for the first time ever ) and then informed me that the boiler was a total loss. my wife and three kids were looking forward to not being confined to one room with a space heater. instead Jennings charged us about $800 to service a boiler that doesn't work in the middle of winter. read more

I had a new hot water and heating system put in. The system kept cycling on and off and was very loud and not operating correctly. I had called and spoke to a manager who dismissed me and was rude. He said that is how it was supposed to work. We recently had an issue with the system and two young men came out for service. They confirmed that there was a problem with a fan modulator and fixed the part. Now our system is quiet and cycling properly. Would have been nice if you would have listened a year ago and came out to inspect the system. Very poor customer service. read more

Our first delivery from Jennings Oil was on July 15, 1997; they have been caring for for both oil delivery and boiler service ever since. I can honestly say that I have never once been disappointed. This morning, I called for a minor service because a zone valve was sticking. Two hours later, serviced and done. They are responsive day or night, even on holidays and in the nastiest weather. I've never once had to even think about oil deliveries - they always have it handled. All of the Jennings team are lovely people. I couldn't think of one single thing they could do any better! read more

I never even received oil from this company and yet I can only give it one star. I called and asked for a delivery of 100 gallons on Friday and I told the lady who answered the phone that I needed it delivered in the afternoon because that's when I would be home. She told me that my card would not be charged until they delivered the oil. They came in the morning and lo and behold I was not home so I didn't get any oil. But they got their $269 of my money. It came right out of my account. I didn't notice it until Saturday at which time I called the office and got the answering service and they refused to call the owner to tell them I needed an immediate credit so that I could pay my other bills. In the meantime I called Toro Fuel in Danbury and got 100 gallons for $218 thus saving me $51 !!!! I will NEVER EVER use Jennings again! read more

First of all, let me state that I can only comment on Jennings Oil from the standpoint of Installation, as I do not currently subscribe to any service contracts and have not purchased oil from them. However, from an installation standpoint, I cannot recommend this company enough - particularly if you are lucky enough to have Eric Olsen involved. Eric provided us a great, competitive quote that was within code and included permits (be careful - some of the competing quotes did not address the code). We are very happy with the performance and efficiency of our system (Burnham MPO and matching water heater), and I have had many very handy contractors / friends over to our house since installation who have all been very complimentary of the craftsmanship. Additionally, when we had some issues early on with our system due to our hard (well) water, Eric made himself available at off hours to ensure our hot water issues were resolved, including troubleshooting some somewhat unrelated issues (e.g. old fixtures restricting flow). Ultimately, I would highly recommend this company for installation of a new oil furnace or water heater. I would also highly recommend that you request Eric - a true gentleman and great person. read more

We just recently replaced our burner and hot water heater. Eric from Jennings Oil in Danbury made the decision an easy one with regard to choosing a HVAC contractor. He is knowledgeable, experienced and extremely conscientious. After explaining our heating options, we moved forward with the installation. Eric was involved every step of the way. From ordering the necessary parts to the delivery of the new unit to the actual installation of the burner and water heater, Eric was hands on every step of the way. Even 3 weeks after the installation, he stopped over our house to make sure we were satisfied and didn't have any questions about our new system. Not customer friendly!! I had a oil delivery in December and was charged one price for 40 gallons and another for 160. When I asked why, they said I was contracted for a certain amount of oil and that the remaining was charged at a higher rate. Why not notify me that the price would be different before delivering? This is no way to keep a customer, I have since cancelled and found a company with a much better price. read more

I've moved to Kent , CT 3 years ago . I've started with Jennings and never looked back . The people seem nice . The delivery men are professional as well . I don't now why other customers complain . These are the nastiest people I have ever dealt with. After a family emergency, we missed paying our bill. The next thing we knew legal action was taken. I used to really like this company, they provide good service to their customers, but lately they nickle and dime me for everything. I had a service call recently and was charged for it EVEN WITH A SERVICE CONTRACT IN PLACE! What gets me even more is I had the same issue a few years back and it was covered under my contract. I recently purchased home heating oil on Jennings Oil Company's website as I found it was the best price per gallon on that day that I was shopping for oil. For years I had been a customer of a small fuel company which recently closed their doors and so I have been getting oil through the web as a way to save money. They were nice enough to deliver my oil on a Saturday to accommodate my work schedule because they said they needed to check my oil tank for safety. Both the gentleman that I spoke with on the phone to confirm the delivery and the gentleman whom delivered the oil were very pleasant. However, I checked the cost of the oil against my credit card on line and they had charged my credit card account in full for 275 gallons of oil on the day that I ordered it; 3 days before the delivery. My tank only took a little more than half as per the ticket that they left in my mailbox so I called them today and the man that spoke with me on the phone was not very customer oriented as the other two had been. I wanted to know when the credit would be placed for the almost $250 difference in cost and he said 7 to 10 days. This was the first and last time I will use Jennings' oil. In 20 years I have never paid for oil before the actual ticket with the amount is pumped into my home and now I have to check my credit card account for the refund. This is a lot of time wasted and my money is tied up making them money until I get the refund. read more
