I didn't much like this place when it first opened (transferred from Pantano & Golf Links) but I'm guessing it was bought and remodeled - place looks more 'comfortable'. Then when they reopened from Covid close down, they refreshed the place with more booths. Everyone loves to sit in a booth. Now, it's one of my favorite places. Booth OR TABLE, I like it. Typical cafe food & sometimes not so speedy, but who cares, where ya gotta be? Give the servers and cooks slack, it's been a hard time on us all! They are also dealing with that annoying DoorDash/Ubereats. Place seems pretty clean. Food is typical. Bathroom is always clean. Servers (3-4) are all nice. Open for in house dining now! They have the tables set up for the required social distancing and the food is excellent as usual. This is one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast and lunch (they close at 2:pm, so no dinners are served). Comfort food at its best! The chicken fried steak is HUGE as well as crispy and tender, the pot roast French Dip is drool worthy and tender and the burgers have been cooked perfectly every time. They also have what I call "crack" French fries, since they are addicting - crispy outside and soft inside. Best fried okra in Tucson too. Great deal with the Groupon. Food tasted good, and servings were huge. It was a long wait for me and customers are really crammed in the small room. Was visiting some family and came across Jerry Bob's, best decision of my entire trip! All thanks to our server Jenny, her customer service is over the top. We were greeted immediately after walking in, and seated right after. We weren't sitting for long before she got in our drink and food orders. Incredibly attentive on the servers part. The food came out in a timely fashion, we weren't waiting very long. The prices reflect the quality of the food very fairly (a little more than fair if you ask me!) I got a large breakfast consisting of a tall stack, eggs and bacon which only cost me about $15. Absolutely not bad, especially with how delicious the food was. Awful! How can you have a three meat and cheese omelet have no taste. The coffee was bitter. The cottage cheese was tangy in a gone bad kind of way. The decor is boring white walls with time posters that barely hold notice. Old tables, uncomfortable chairs. This is one of the few Jerry Bob's that is NOT part of the local franchise and it shows. I'd give zero if I could. Under new ownership for couple months. Sadly the new owners kept only the younger staff, letting all of the older employees go. Food takes 30 min to come out, staff has managed to edge out original employees and many long time customers. In reality, I rate this place 3 1/2 stars. :) I have only eaten breakfast here so far. The service is nice and friendly...they make sure you never run out of coffee! :) They have a pretty good sized breakfast menu, which includes items such as omelettes, pancakes, French Toast, bacon, etc. They also have a special of the day board, so make sure to check it out! You really can't beat the price! I had one of the daily specials...the mushroom and Swiss omelette, served with either hash browns, or a side of mixed fruit. Since I had just come from the gym, I wanted fruit. I asked or server if it was fresh or canned fruit. She confirmed that it was all canned, except the grapes. They were nice enough to let me have just grapes. My omelette arrived perfectly cooked...not overdone, and not overly oily. Nice and fluffy! The only disappointment I had, was that they didn't use real cheese. They used the Velveeta/Kraft singles type of processed cheese...and they topped off the omelette with 2 slices. We've been going to this restaurant for 10 years specifically for the B&G breakfast. First time today under new ownership and we immediately knew something was wrong. The gravy was flat with no taste and the sausage patties were a cheaper, thinner brand that had no taste. I made sure I gave professional feedback to the waitresses and cashier who assured me that would be given to the new owner. The new decorum was nice but it's all about the food. this location actually moved down the street into the fry's shopping center on golf links/kolb. from the outside, it looks in a lot better shape than the one we drove past trying to find jerry bob's. the husband had a groupon he purchased a month or so ago. you can get a lot with $20 at jerry bob's. there was a brief wait (take in mind it was sunday, after people get out of church) but they were able to seat us within a reasonable time frame. our waitress came around and got us water and some crayons and paper for our daughter. the husband got the reuben with onion rings and i got their fried chicken lunch special. we ordered the kid a grilled cheese. the fried chicken was over cooked and the breading was a little too brown. the mashed potatoes and everything else was pretty tasty, though. for the price and convenience jerry bob's is pretty great. read more
