Horrible customer service! This is the second time I made an online order and when I got there, they couldn't find my order. It wasn't on the pick up shelf, they had to look for it on the back counter. The sandwiches i ordered both times was poorly made and tasted horrible. I tried to give this place a second chance. I'd give them a 4.5 if I could. Ordered the Jersey Mike's Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and at first I was shocked at the price of $16 for a whole but the sandwich I got was at least 16 inches long and loaded with chopped meat. The only thing I would change is just a tad more salt/pepper and a crustier roll. Ba-Le makes a bread that would go well with this sandwich. Bad service and misleading on servings.. Got my wife's order wrong didnt repeat our order. Gave her Big Kahuna with meat instead of Veggie one. Waited 1/2 hour but it was done earlier while we waited outside because of co vid. They even asked my wife about our order. They was looking at us the whole time waiting. I have never had the genuine Philly article for reference, but I would consider Jersey Mike's Philly cheesesteak to be the best I've ever had in town. 5 Aug 2021 Been a while since I posted but this place is still the best place in Hawaii for subs! They just remodeled - brighter and more open. The customer service is still super courteous and fast as is the quality and quantity of sub for the money. The hard part is deciding which one you want! I always plan on ordering a giant but then remember how BIG their subs are and get a regular! If I know we're going to have one, I either skip breakfast or lunch just so I'm able to finish even their regular - other wise I'll save half for a state night snack! Super bummed about my experience! I frequent the Hawaii Kai store, but my first time here at kahala, was not cool. I ordered my sandwich, a girl with a puppy got in line behind me, the girl MAKING sandwiches started petting the dog which was now over the counter, and continued to make sandwiches without washing her hands. Except mine, lol, cause the dog distracted her. 3 sandwiches late, mine gets made, problem is, I'm highly allergic to dogs, and I'm having lunch with my inhaler instead of a DELICIOUS Number 7 mikes way. Had a large 40 person catering order i ordered 2 days in advance, paid for. The employees are alarmingly incompetent. I've been coming here every so often for about a year. Each time nobody seems to know what they are doing and nobody looks to be in charge. The way the line is set up looks inefficient. Its always painful placing an order and getting it built correctly. Most times there is some sort of error in my order. Young hard working staffs and good food that I like. But, second time experiencing watching food prep guy touching order ticket paper and pen and boxes from walk-in refrigerator or storage area with gloves and directly go back to touch foods, bread, cheese, hams...without changing plastic gloves. Also there's unclear section between food prep counter area and cash register area on countertop...
