I'm a Jimmy John's girl.. always have been. But today I ventured into Jersey Mike's to grab a sandwich for my dad. The atmosphere was fantastic. The guy who I believed to be the owner or manager greeted me when I walked in, and gave me a free cookie when I left. The guy taking my order was incredibly friendly towards everyone, asking how our days were going, what were our weekend plans, etc. The guy making sandwiches was fun, upbeat, and also got involved in conversations, joked around with me, and passed me to the smiley cashier. It didn't matter that I was standing in a long line because these guys kept me entertained! Fantastic service. Very dissatisfied waited patiently in line..nothing to do with being short staffed. They gave my sandwich away to another customer then proceeded to let that customer leave with the wrong order and had to re-make my sandwich with NO APOLOGIES. I went in and walked back out. The place was disgusting and unsanitary. The back counter had half fixed sandwiches with gloves laying around. The meat slicer had meat still on it. There was a half made sandwhich and bread next to the meat slicer. The board where the sandwiches were made was littered with lettuce and other toppings and the toppings containers were half filled. They recently opened this store very near my house. I'm happy to have a healthier option for lunch since the current ones are McDonalds and KFC/Taco Bell. I've tried 3 of their subs and have been very impressed with the product. Also, this location's staff is very upbeat and fun which really helps create a business I don't mind supporting. The first time I walked in, I was greeted by a blonde woman who was working the condiment station. She kindly explained to me what "Mike's Way" meant and was patient as I carefully thought of each ingredient before it was added to my sub. Not bad, but pricey. I swooped in here to grab a sandwich in a hurry, never having been to a Jersey Mikes before. Their regular veggie option sounded a bit lame (cheese and green peppers, basically), so I asked if I could have the grilled veggie wrap (grilled peppers and onions with cheese and some toppings) as a sub instead. The staff was friendly and started right in on it and a few minutes later I was flying back to work. The sandwich was ok, but it was messy as a sandwich, and I can't imagine the soggy mess it would have been if made as a wrap. They charged me the price I would have paid as a wrap, and my total came to $7.02. No chips. No drink. Perhaps their meat subs are fabulous. I also thought the selection of available toppings was a little sparse, there were no olives, which I really like on my sandwiches. There was some red stuff which may have been pepadews, which I love (I didn't ask and there was nothing listing the choices). I think I'd prefer Subway or Quiznos, which are also close by, and I'm not a giant fan of either of those. If I was going to lunch with friends and they wanted to go here, I'd go back, but it's unlikely I'd just up and go own my own. read more

Jersey Mike's offers a variety of fresh subs. When I saw the "coming soon" sign and then read the reviews from other Jersey Mike's in the area I had to try it soon after it was open. Now that it is open; it was pretty good. I tried the Famous Philly. Not being from Philly, or anywhere on the east coast for that matter, I don't really know what it should taste like but it did taste pretty good. Too many peppers for my liking but the meat, cheese, bread, and onions were delish. They slice the meat right in front of you so it feels like you are getting it fresh. Some subs are available in 3 sizes; mini, regular, and giant. The mini is a little misleading - it's not really that small. I saw a couple being prepared and they piled on the fixin's. With chips and a drink that is plenty of food. The regular was about 8" and a good size meal. The giant is about 17" and while I'm sure someone could eat it - it is best shared. As I mentioned, this location just opened up and it was packed during lunch time. The staff was friendly and was trying to get everyone in and out pretty quick. Overall, I would go back to try more subs but it wasn't so good that I have dreams about it. Definitely an alternative to Subway or Jimmy Johns. read more

We've had subs from a lot of different places, but I'd say this is definitely one of the better ones. They do cost a bit more for the size of the sub you get (about $7 for a regular sub that looks like a 8-inch), but they really pack the meat on. I tried the chicken parmesan sub which was really good, and I watched as other sandwiches were made right in front of me. They sliced the deli as the orders were put in, and grilled up meats for the hot sandwiches rather than simply heating them up in a microwave. We will definitely be going back because some of their other menu items, such as the wraps, that have peaked our interest, and are at least worth a try. read more

FABULOUS customer service! Really, some of the best I've seen. The positive, upbeat energy in there is absolutely magnetic. Every guest is personally greeted with warm welcome and asked about their day! Who does that anymore?? I told the manager who asked how I was doing that I had just picked up my car from the tow yard and he gave me a cookie on the house!!! I was blown away. It's the little things sometimes that make the biggest impact. Employees like those are what keeps customers coming back! Along with their outstanding customer service, you will find the quality of their food is consistently top-notch. Too often, I go to sub restaurants that serve stale bread. Never Jersey Mike's. I finally reached the breaking point today, and it was my last trip to the Jersey Mike's location. I've been coming here fairly regularly, about once a week. The food is pretty decent when they get it right, so up until now I've been ignoring the little issues that seem to pop up every time I visit. My visit today though, so many things went wrong that it was my last visit to this location. Every time I've been here, I've noticed something sub-optimal: - They routinely seem to be understaffed. Wait times at lunch regularly exceed 15 minutes - My sandwich is made incorrectly more often than not: they get the size wrong, the wrong meat, the wrong bread. The staff tries to take as many orders at once as possible, likely due to the understaffing, and just can't keep everything correct in their heads - They run out of items quite frequently. I've been there once when they only had a handful of bags of a single brand of chips left in the entire building. Every other trip, seems like they are out of one type of meat or another. They were completely out of straws one time. - It doesn't happen as frequently, but there are a few times where they just key in my order completely incorrect at the register. $18 for a sandwich and chips one time??? - Again, not as big a problem, but there needs to be a bigger focus on cleanliness. Again, about every other trip, the drink and plasticware counter is a mess Today was a trip that managed to combine pretty much all of these experiences into one. The typical 15 minute wait stretching all the way to the door. My sandwich was made incorrectly. Wrong bread, and wrong meat initially. They got the size wrong on the order for the gentlemen right in front of me as well. Bought my drink, and when I went to fill it found out there was no ice. Mentioned this to an employee nearby and got a shoulder shrug. "Yeah, we're out of ice". They can't even keep frozen water in stock!? The whole thing smacks of a manager trying to pinch every penny possible. Skimp on staffing levels leading to long waits and cleanliness issue. Only order inventory when at the last possible minute, resulting in items routinely running out. Maybe it helps the bottom line, but that approach is now going to impact the top line because this was my last trip to this location. read more

On multiple visits at this location I've experienced long waits to order. I can honestly say from talking to friends, they've also made the same connection when coming here. As far as sandwich places go....this is the best I've come across. I have yet to have a bad sandwich from any of the Jersey Mike's. I used to go to 75th in Naperville but this one just opened and it is 5 minutes from my house and not 20. My only issue is it is now too easy for me to go and I find myself there 3 times a week. I've tried hot and cold and a wide variety in both categories...I tried a wrap last week and every thing that I have tried has been very very good. I can go healthy with a turkey on wheat with no cheese or I can get the Italian or the Philly cheese steak if I'm feeling like eating no so good. If you are looking for quick deli style sandwich on good bread and with good toppings then this is the place to go. I think Jared would have made some different life choices back in the day if he had options. read more

This store is a train wreck since new ownership. They have 3 ppl who know what's going on. High employee turn around. Furthermore, Sara is the wrong person to be in the position of leadership/manager. She works horrible under pressure, beats down the employees when she's unraveling (in front of a store full of customers) and will go back and forth w a customer forever to determine who screwed up the order....them or the customer. Right the wrong and move on already. She's lacks the maturity level to handle employee and customer issues. I'm almost a daily customer and I see the same dude everyday busting tail. HE'S the one who should be in the leadership role. He's helpful to all the new employees, so so so friendly to customers and he's got that shop on lock under pressure. I (think) his name is Jimmy? Holy shit, if you have nothing to do for 40 minutes come here and stand in line with us! Apparently it's the thing to do. From the moment you walk through the door it's about a 40 minute ordeal to get your food. Actually I think the food is free but you pay to stand in line and look like you're part of the "scene." Because Lisle IL is where it's all happening and every fuck'n body knows it and if you don't you aren't important. I love Jersey Mike's. This is the second Sunday I've been to this location and they have only two people working. The line is beyond ridiculous. What's prompting me to write this is because the two guys working are complaining to the customers about how busy they are. Went there on Monday (2-6-17) at 8:30pm for a Roast beef sandwich for my son after hockey practice. When we walked in the guy at the counter looked annoyed since it was 30min before closing. How dare a customer come in before closing. He proceeded to tell me they were out of meat today. No Roast Beef! I knew it a line of BS since the entire condiments section behind the counter was clean and put away. The crew was in no mood to help a customer. Let me preface this by saying I LOVE Jersey Mike's. With that being said, this is by far the worst Jersey Mike's in the Chicagoland area. The bread is very crumbly compared to other locations and doesn't taste like other location's bread, maybe they use a different recipe? The sandwich is thrown together sloppily, the bottom of the sandwich is saturated in oil and vinegar. When I unwrap the sandwich it looks more like a salad than a sandwich. The Schaumburg location is 100x better. I've tried to give this location multiple chances to prove themselves and every time I am disappointed. I would rather travel 30 minutes to a different location. read more

To me the food is pretty average when compared to other sub shops. To me what sets this place apart was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly, from the order taker to the cashier. The sandwiches are super expensive (1 Roat beef, chip, & drink was just under $20) when compared to Subway, JJ, etc. I will be returning returning but not on a regular basis as it costs an arm and a leg. read more

I'm not very pleased with this location. I went in on a Sunday around 2 pm. It took a good 10-20 mins for me to get through the line and out the door with my food. I had to correct the workers preparing my food 2 times because they kept screwing my order up. The cheese steak sub is pretty good though! I didn't get onions or peppers so I thought I would possibly get some extra mushrooms in place, but there was hardly any to begin with. The buffalo chicken wrap was not good. The chicken was rubbery, which to me is a sign of being undercooked. At the risk of getting sick, I picked it all out. The hot sauce was decent, but very watery. I visit this location twice a week for lunch, until today. They wear plastic gloves while cooking the food, problem is, the employees cooking the food are also touching the phone, cash register, cash and coin, then going back to cook and touch food all with the same pair of gloves on. This is a major food handling safety violation. Today I also noticed the soda machine had mold covering the inside of the the nozzles. The manager didn't refund my soda and did not assume accountability. This is a shame because I like their food. read more

I love eating here and I find myself going almost once or twice a week. Every single time that I have gone each employee has been very nice and friendly. Each time I go I always spend time laughing or talking with someone. One time they didn't put the mayo and bacon on my sandwich but that was the only time anything like that has happened to me. This rating is purely off of an experience I had on 9/16/14 at 7:50 PM. My fiancé and I came in expecting the service we always look forward to being regulars. To our disappointment we weren't greeted, until the girl on the slicer decided that she was ready. We asked for our regular, Giant 13. I asked if she could make it "Mikes Way" and if they could please add banana peppers (just like we always do.) The slicer girl said "you can tell her..." Just putting this out there for those of you that have not eaten at Jersey Mikes, they work with in five feet of each other. What ever happened to customer service? I have never been in this store but have dealt with them many times. We have ordered from them for our football team each friday. They are awesome to work with. This is my favorite location they are awesome... great and fast service! I'm pregnant and can't eat cold cuts i went in for an italian and they grilled up the meat for me and the manager was so personable speaking to every customer in line its people like that that make you want to come back!!
