The room for improvement: meat is piled LOW meaning "where's the beef" This time around I was not satisfied with the meat portion on my giant size sandwich. It feels like they put the same amount of meat as a regular size and just spread the meat over more bread. The pastrami slices are thin which is fine but the layer is so little that the bread is what you taste more than the sandwich. Great alternative to Subway! Clean and fresh, JM's has a great line up of subs. They even offer them as a salad. I always order them as a "sub in a tub" to cut down on those pesky carbs so I don't have to count them on the treadmill. Downside, they only have Pepsi products which I'll accept, but nothing beats Coke! Here's a tip, order your favorite sub in a tub and add extra onions, oil & vinegar. It's the best! read more

Subway: 2 stars Togo's: 3.5 stars Jersey Mike's:4.5 stars (cant put halves on ratings) Jersey Mike's is great b/c they actually cook the meat on a flat top grill, not the microwave like togos or subway. their meat is slice PER SANDWICH, bread is baked fresh, and cookies baked fresh. the menu is simple, clean, and not overwhelming. Jersey Mikes does what i like in a restaraunt: keep it simple and straight forward. when you go to togos or subway, there are dozens of choices between not only sandwiches, but veggies, sauces, breads, salts, oils, blah blah blah now togos is better than subway that is forsure, but overall, jersey mikes is the go to place. i have gotten the Big Kahuna and Ruben; both meaths juicy and great from the flattop. Big Kahuna Cheesesteak is full of cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos, peppers, onions, chipotle, oh so good. ruben was okay, meat was good but saurkraut wasnt as up beat. at this specific location, the employees and owner, Steve, are aboslutely great. they dont try to hard to impress, they are just themselves. Sandwich & wraps are good but very expensive. The other thing is it is pretty dirty. All the tables were not wiped down, floor dirty, napkin holders empty. The counter where the bread is sliced & meat put on bread is not very clean either. breadcrumbs & mustard smeared by window. Never been to a Jersey Mike's before but since they keep popping up in our area I figured I'd try it out. The store front was clean and well groomed and they weren't very busy at the time of my visit. The staff was kinda standing around chatting and I almost felt like an inconvenience to them. During my time of ordering I explained it was my first time and was hoping for some direction. Instead she pointed at the bar top in front of her with all the add on's and said "what do you like?" The sub was not bad but it was nothing different than subway....unless I didn't get what they are famous for. Probably won't be going back again. read more

When Jimmy (the manager) is there, this place is great. When he's not....it's such a joke. Last few times I've been in it seems like they put 1/2 the cheese and 1/2 the turkey the subs typically have. They've been putting suppperrrr thin slices of cheese which literally tear if you try to pick it up. I asked for an actually slice of cheese and am told it's "extra cheese" -_- okay... if I'm paying almost $30 for two sandwiches, PUT A SLICE OF CHEESE ON IT! Went in tonight, same blah experience as every other time I've come here with no manager present. Jennifer was great, she was super nice, pleasant, working. Not too many people in there but Jennifer had just made a sandwich for a man and the man was waiting to pay. She had to call to the two girls in the back chatting it up to come help her. The girl who came to the front looked like she was the most depressed person I've ever come across (no name tag so I have no idea who she was). Aside from the depressed young girl at the counter, the lettuce was brown, tomatoes looked gross. Took both out as soon as I got him and had to put some of my own. I had an experience when the guy making the sandwich gave me the biggest attitude because I asked for the amount of cheese/turkey that is usually on there. Went in on Saturday. There were five people working the counter, preparing sandwiches, etc. Three of the five were not wearing their masks correctly. A customer in line in front of me asked one of the employees to please put the mask over his nose when making his sandwich. The employee laughed and rolled his eyes, but put the mask over his nose. However, as soon as that guy's sandwich was made, the employee pulled down the mask again to make the next customer's sandwich (mine). Seriously? I ordered sandwiches for an event I was hosting. The sandwiches were ready at the specified time and exactly as I ordered them. My issue however was with the cleanliness of the store. I was very disappointed. The counters, glass, floors, etc were dirty. They were not particularly busy and I'm sure someone could have been wiping things down but they did not seem to notice. FRESH! Everything at Jersey Mike's is SUPER fresh. They slice your meat right in front of you, as you order it. The bread is baked fresh daily in-house as well. The produce is dropped off fresh each day also. They have both hot & cold subs, depending on what you want...and also some vegetarian options. Although this place is a small chain, it's quality and freshness far exceed Subway & Quiznos. I will try it again sometime! read more

Leaps and bounds better than Subway. I wish there was a Jersey Mike's closer to me (though we do have Bay Cities so I guess I can't complain). I have to say that every time we come here we are met with warm greetings and fresh, delicious cold cuts. This time it looked like the owner was also in the mix, making sure we had a good lunch. Of the sub chains that proliferate the fast food landscape, Jersey Mike's is certainly my favorite. Maybe it's how oregano comes standard? Or how it seems fresher with the meat being cut right at time of order instead of being peeled off paper? Or how they are always friendly? Was a bit apprehensive to spend $10 on a sub. I figured I could buy 3 or 4 six inch subs at Subway for that price, but was I surprised! What a fantastic sandwich! I've ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and it compares to any Philly Cheese Steak in Philly! But my favorite is the #9, the Club Supreme, contains a bunch of different meats and is topped by crispy thick slices of BACON. Not just one or two strips, but 5 or 6! I am now addicted to this sandwich and must travel to Jersey Mike's at least once a month to get my fill. The staff at the Valencia location on Copperhill and the Castaic location are really nice and respectful kids and is owned by Valencia Mike, who supports all the high school athletic teams in the area. He's one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. His son in law owns the one in Canyon Country. Haven't been to that one yet, but I'm sure it's as good as Mike's locations. A new Jersey Mike's has opened up on Bouquet that ISN'T owned by Mike. I think I'll stick to the Valencia, Castaic, or Canyon Country locations. read more

I prefer Jersey Mike's to Subway any day, but Togo's is my favorite sandwich place. That said, Jersey Mike's is closer and cheaper so I come here more. I love their wraps, they've got so many options! The sandwiches are delicious as well. They slice the meat and make your sandwich right in front of you, you customizing it however you like or ordering a pre-constructed item from their menu. Jersey Mike's offers their own special "Mike's Way" blend of salt, pepper, vinegar, and red onions I believe to add to your sandwich at the end. It's a tasty option, but I've found that it makes your meal a little soggy, especially if you're planning on saving the second half for another meal. Every time I've been in the workers have been friendly and quick. Except for the last time, their was an obvious newer employee tasked with making all of the sandwiches herself during the dinner rush. I get people need to learn, but shouldn't cash register girl or meat slicer man pitch in if the line gets backed up? I like the Jersey Mike's in Stevenson's Ranch better for the simple reason that they have a free chip and drink check in offer and this location does not. But that's way too far to drive for a free drink so unless I'm in that area, I come here. They offer a great rewards system though, use their punch card or your registered number so many times and you obtain points for free food! read more

I love the sandwiches that Jersey Mikes makes and all but they have to learn a thing or two about customer service... I was waiting in line for about 40 minutes... It was a long line and yes I'm aware that I am going to have to wait... but during that wait they would stop making sandwiches for us in line and just make phone orders.... After waiting for 40 minutes and I was next they literally did not make my order for 25 minutes while they were again making orders for phone orders... even calls that were just coming in... So the whole time they would put everyone on hold waiting in line for someone else to cut in... One guy even said he left the line went outside and phoned in his order because then it only took him 10 minutes... WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE THIS PLACE IS!!! My husband and I moved out to Valencia and decided to try something different. We went to Jersey Mike's for a quick lunch. The service was horrible, there was no greeting, they looked unhappy to see us. It made us felt very uncomfortable being there, like we were making them work. We had questions about the menu and the answer was "look on menu". We are never going back again. read more

Not the type of customer service I was expecting. I walked in and go to the end of the line, then one of the workers calls me over to the cash register and asks me what I ordered, I told her we haven't ordered yet. Then she sighs and says "What do you want?" With a rude and annoyed tone. I was in shock. I usually go to the bouquet canyon location, but decided to get a sandwich after an Albertsons trip. I had to repeat my order multiple times. And when I got rung up, I had a gift card that I wanted to pay with, but the employees didn't know how to use it. This location is just too slow. The wait times on online orders are ridiculous and when in the store the staff seem to be always fumbling around with everything. This time round, placed an online order at 11:55am, told to show up at 12:15 and when arriving they "missed" the ticket. Seriously! This place has twist on neighborhood sandwich shop blended with corporate high quality food chain. Love the oil and vinegar "Mike's way" they use and when u tip them they ring a bell and all the employees yell. The sandwiches are savory filled with thinly sliced goodness. The Club Supreme (#9), easy on the oil and vinegar is my favorite sub in town. Whatever cold sub you order, if you're getting it to go, make sure you have them go light on the oil and vinegar or else you'll have a soggy mess by the time you're ready to eat. Unfortunately, I haven't had nearly as much luck with the wraps. They were all very disappointing. Like everyone else has mentioned, their assembly line way of making their food is very inefficient. On weekends during football season, i've waited over a half hour to place my order, which is ridiculous for a sandwich place. That said, at least Mike is a good guy and he tends to employ a friendly staff. Also, prices have been bumped up, but that seems to be par for the course for every sandwich place lately. read more

Jersey Mike's is still just a fast food sub shop. It's no specialty sandwich shop or Italian Market/Deli. I can say that they are always welcoming and my sandwich always consistent. I love Jersey mikes but today they fails me. Called and ordered but my sandwich was dry and just not good at all.

I wished just once I could walk out of your establishment with a sandwich that looks as appetizing that is in your ads. Veggie sandwich for eight dollars that has some shredded lettuce, 3 soggy small tomato slices and 3 micro rings of a onion. The other choices available were some pickles. As I was paying for the two sandwiches, I asked the server if there was more vegetables then was displayed. She answered they have cucumbers and green peppers that are placed with the area of where the hot sandwiches are made. My order was already packaged and set to go as I was annoyed of paying for a veggie sandwich that looked quite empty. She offered to put them on the side but I declined as I added some fresh veggies at home. read more
