We went to this location for the first time today. We love Jersey Mike's. This one was a big disappointment. Just left here about 30 minutes ago! Please management, train your young employees to be more friendly. Between the young gals making my Sandwich to the young man who rang me up, not one sign of kindness from them. We love Jersey Mike's and go here quite often. Jimmy, the manager makes the best sandwiches! It is pretty much hit or miss when Jimmy is not around. Best subs in town! Fantastic customer service. The staff knows most the regulars by name..... kind of a "Cheers" Bar welcome when you walk through the door. They'll make anything any way you want it. "Mikes Way" is their term for trimmings with the "works". Definitely have it "MIkes' Way". When they say "Giant" sized they mean GIANT. Holy smokes! They are huge! Jersey Mikes in Valencia is a class act and has great food to boot. Mike the owner or as we regulars know him as "Valencia Mike" sets the tone for this location. The food is fresh and excellent. When we think of sandwiches my family and I drive clear across town to eat here. There is no comparison to other similar chains. Mike tells me he will be opening a new location in Castaic Oct 2007. We have been coming to this location since it opened, my wife and I came in last week. It was the first time in a few month. I have to say we will not be going again to this location. Months ago the original owner sold this location, I met the new owner and thought what a nice guy. Unfortunately, the employees are what makes a business. We came in at 1 in the afternoon a few days before Christmas. There were 3 customers sitting and eating. My wife and I both ordered after standing there waiting to be helped, not 3 mins later the employee had to ask again due to his lack of paying attention. Then as we moved down to the registrar the young and rude girl was too busy on the business phone to ring us up. Finally we sat down and waited for our hot sandwiches to be made. After about 15 mins my wife went up to the counter , waited for the young girl to get off the phone again and when my wife asked about our order the girl turns around and replies ( oh it's been sitting right here) well right here was behind the counter , like we were to walk back there and get it. The food was still very good, one of the best sandwiches around. The previous owner and employees alway greeted you with hello and we're very friendly. It made you want to go back even if you were paying almost double. The younger generation at this business has no clue on customer service. read more

I think its sad that the credit card machine has a selection for tips. Tips should be based off of the total experience, as well as not a pressure setting. Growing up in the 60's and 70's, tips were a way waitresses made their extra income. Tips were not based off the food, but the service you received. When I chose not to push the tip button I thought the lady was going to have a fit. Customer relations sure hit a the core there. Why should a machine tell me how much I should tip? Order your sandwhich "Mike's way" and it has a very nice Italian seasoning. I really like it. Watch out for the wait though, it can be horrible at lunch time as one person is cutting all the meat as it it ordered; one sandwhich at a time. i really like the idea of them slicing the meat for your sandwich right after you order it. i've tried the Chipotle Cheesesteak, Big Kahuna, and the Original Italian, and they were all really good. the cheesesteaks are more the melty cheesy taste smothered over some chopped up steak, but the Chipotle mayo was actually pretty good. the one i really fell in love with is the Original Italian, which i got Mike's way, and it was awesome. i've since tried Italian subs from a variety of different sub shops, both corporate and not, and most of them have not come close, except for Balboa Subs in Northridge. if you're looking for a variety of vegetables in your sandwich, do not look here. if you like meat, cheese, and several other kinds of meat, this place is a nice place to stop by for lunch sometimes. it's a bit pricey if you compare it to Subway or Quizno's, but the thing is, you can't really compare them to Jersey Mike's. *the "Giant" is humongo. read more

I was very impressed with everything about this chain of Jersey Mike's. I have been to many in my life, but this one blows the others away by a long shot. When I walked in the door everything was organized and clean. The girls working were very fast and professional and even though there was a decent line, it only took about a minute to place my order. The service really stuck out as they were both very friendly and efficient (I believe their names were Sammie and Angelina).
