Good lamb and beef skewers! Mostly for the seasoning, super super lean meat too, which is good if you're looking for some solid protein. Service was a tad slow, but no biggie

Every thing on menu looked amazingg but we loved their beef pulled noodles and beef with cumin. Best part medium spicey was just the right amount not too much to handle. Service was great and cant wait to back again!!! Place is always busy!!

On a freezing Friday evening in St. Marks, Jiang's Kitchen fed our large group of 8 pretty fast and served us the most authentically-flavored Chinese halal food. I would give 6 stars if I could! We ordered an assortment of dishes from hot and sour cucumber [5/5], sauteed cumin lamb [6/5 - would highly recommend], diced chicken with hot peppers [6/5], baked buns topped with lamb ribs [6/5], and a couple more that I can't remember. I mean it when I say that all 8 of us were thoroughly impressed by the meal and enjoyed every single dish. Although all the dishes border on the saltier side, that's my taste preference so I thought they were seasoned perfectly. The dishes at Jiang's walk the perfect line between spicy and flavorful. Everything we ate had the taste of authentic Chinese cuisine. By the time we finished our meal at 8PM, the restaurant was completely full and had a line out the door. Service was great at handling the busy restaurant and still being both attentive and friendly. I would 100% come back here to try even more of their many options of dishes. :)

I ordered a delivery from this interesting and unique Northwestern China and Uighur Halel cuisine. I had Lamb Shumai, Hot and Sour Cucumbers, Wood Ear Mushrooms with Chinese Vinegar and Chili Oil, Hand-rolled Noodles with Spiced Minced Beef, Salt and Pepper Jumbo Shrimp, Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken with Noodles, Sautéed Noodles with Cumin Lamb, and Sautéed Vegetables with Rice Cake. Generally, the food was quite good. The stand out dishes were the Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Hand-rolled Noodles with Spicy Minced Beef, and the Sautéed Noodles with Cumin Lamb. Clearly cumin lamb is the house specialty and I would advise ordering more of that, such as the lamb ribs or other lamb dishes. The hand-rolled noodles are excellent, as are the rice noodles. I would avoid the rice cake, but that is a matter of taste. I found the Big Plate Chicken to be tasty on top of the included flat noodles, but a little dry and not as good as the lamb. The Lamb Shumai is very good, also. Packing is excellent and delivery was fast. Highly recommended.

Stumbled across this restaurant on the way to another place but looked inside and wanted to try it! Service was prompt and had no wait on a weekday. I enjoyed the pitchers of iced lemon water since we had just went to a run club. Food was yummmmm and prices were solid, especially liked the lamb dishes although the ribs were very fatty. Worth the stop!

Great food, served fresh out the kitchen like fajitas. Lamb was cooked perfectly and the rice rubbed in the fond underneath was a delight. Reasonable price ($18) compared to some other things on the menu, service was straightforward. Will definitely be back again!

Delicious food and great service! All of the dishes were flavorful and the meet was perfectly tender. My friends dropped their chopsticks (lol) twice and the server noticed quickly to replace. We never had to struggle to get water refills or the waiters attention, which I'm finding is not that common in NYC. Prices were expensive for Chinatown but cheap for overall new york. The restaurant was not too crowded, but was buzzing enough where we could comfortably catch up!

I've been meaning to come here for a while because I love big plate chicken and there aren't a lot of Chinese restaurants in the city that I know of that do it (other than Spicy Village in Chinatown). I also love northwestern Chinese food and cumin lamb and wish there were more places like this in Manhattan. We of course got the big plate chicken and the stir fried cumin lamb and they were both delicious - super flavorful and slightly spicy. We didn't make a reservation and were able to walk in during dinner time on the weekend. Highly recommend!

So good! Came on Mother's Day so it was understandably busy, but the food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Service was fine--nothing standout, but no complaints either. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall gem I'd come back to. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Was seated quickly, the lighting is good and the food is very cumin-y :) As seen in the pictures, we ordered the BBQ Lam Ribs, the Noodles with Chicken, and the Sizzling Plate with beef. Everything tasted fantastic, I will say that the BBQ Lamb Ribs my favorite taste-wise, but I felt it was overpriced.

Great casual spot for Chinese food in east village! Got the big plate chicken and sizzling rice with cumin lamb. I liked the cumin lamb rice more personally because the cumin spice just went so well with how fatty lamb was

Didn't know a halal hotpot restaurant exists in Manhattan. You have to ask for the hotpot menu, otherwise, you'll get the regular menu. The min order for hotpot is $50 & it's not all you can eat. This place is also closed from 3:30-5 on weekdays. Anyway, we got steamed beef shumai (6pcs for $10) & sizzling beef rice ($16). The shumai is scalding hot, so beware unless you want a burnt tongue. This is basically like xiao long bao btw. It's good, I liked the flavor. The sizzling rice with beef has a very strong cumin smell, meaning it smells like armpit. Once you get over the smell, the beef is actually pretty good. It's flavorful. I just wish it had less onion & more beef. The beef to onion ratio is off. It was mostly onion with rice.

Nothing fancy, just delicious food for an unbelievable price. When you walk into this large spacious "cafeteria" with steam trays, it looks clean and quiet. There was a lady at the cash register that wasn't too helpful, but I guess the communication barrier played a part. At $8.99 per pound, you can really fill up here for an insanely good price. My favorites have been the beef dishes and therefore often skip all the chicken items. However, feel free to make a plate anyway you like. At the end of the day, I'm sure it'll be great.

The whole fish has a distinctive strong taste that took some getting used to...perhaps a lot of paprika and red pepper, but I'm not really sure...certainly a nice portion size. The cheese is on the lighter side and the textural combination is nice, sort of like a baklava cheesecake but crispier and lighter. I like heavier cheesecakes though. Drinks: golden negroni was spot on, but didn't like the sangria. They had a medjool cocktail that went off the menu to my disappointment. Appetizers: the octopus carpaccio was the best and I'd order again. The tuna tartare was a little too heavy on the sauce flavor, and the golden beets were unmemorable. The yellowtail was good I think, but didn't stand out either. Mains: the duck borek has more of a sausage like meat texture. I thought it was decent but the meat being duck didn't do much and I've had better boreks in Astoria. It comes with a vegetable side that is a nice offset. I tried a friend's lamb chops and this was really good with the cooked cherries.

Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. I feel like this place is good, but the white sauce is what makes it. Would I wait another 50 minutes in line, again? Heck to the no - but 1 time? Yes, just to say I tried it. I came in line around 9:45pm and waited approx. 50 minutes before being served. the line just grows and grows.... it is crazy busy! I don't get the line concept here. Because while I was in a long line, when I get to the front, there's another line to the left of the truck... and people seem to be getting their food faster, and the line is like 2x shorter. So that's kind of confusing. Ambience in line and ordering = chaotic. The line is quick in terms of when it is your turn, KNOW what you want. Because you have like 5 seconds to order and that's it. I ordered the special (the spicy rice, lamb and chicken combo, extra white sauce, 3 squirts of hot sauce, and a topped with fries). $13 in total. I would like to say, advice to folks to know what you want before you come. I did not look at menu options beforehand and I did fairly little research so I honestly did not know what to order, just looked at some google reviews and pictures. That is going to help you, in case you do not want the typical lamb and chicken combo. To the food - 1st - they don't care how much hot sauce you want. they're making these bowls in the masses and are just giving you a single squirt so they can make 20 bowls all at the same time. I was hoping for more spice in what I ordered, but it was very slightly spicy. I'm not sure if they let you serve yourself to more, but I'd definitely want more of the hot sauce. 2nd - I didn't taste any spice in the spicy rice. I'm not sure if, again, due to the fast production that it all just taste like regular rice? but didn't see what the hype was there. 3rd - I genuinely think the white sauce is what brings it all together. The chicken was OK to me. I didn't think it was anything special, and would give it a 3 out of 5. texture was OK, flavor was OK... the lamb definitely stole the show. The lamb was absolutely flavorful and full of delicious spices. This reminded me of what I've had in Dubai. Very rich in flavor and just the perfect amount of spices. Overall, I think if you wait for your food to cool down like 20 minutes, you'll get to taste the flavors more. Everything hot together, for me, just didn't allow me to really absorb all the food. But the rice was your average rice. Pita was deliciously soft and pillowy which complemented the white sauce. Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

They're the only game in town at that hour, and honestly, in the moment, it hits. It's the next morning I regret it. If your stomach handles it better than mine, you'll probably love it. The food is tasty and the portions are huge for the price. I just wish I could enjoy it without paying for it twice.
