I went in for a standard oil change on my RAV 4. In my life, I have had thousands of oil changes and a few leaks, which usually was the filter. This time I had a puddle of oil on my garage floor and when back only to be told that I needed a new oil pan. I asked how changing the oil could cause me to need a new oil pan and they said the oil plug was stripped. I talked to my mechanic and he said the only two things that can cause an oil leak at the plug is the seal was not replaced, as it should be with each oil change or the plug was put in too tight and stripped the threads. Jiffy lube was most unsympathetic and said it was not their fault, even though they were the ones who should have changed the seal and not overtightened the plug and the last people to work on the truck. They put some sealant around the plug and wrote obscene works on the bottom of the oil pan. New oil pan, gasket, oil, and labor from Lamb's auto service, $2,500. Honest mechanic about $300 labor and I supplied the parts. Some places would not install customer-supplied parts and the ones I got an AutoZone cost less than $100, including the oil. Other shops charge upwards of $200 for parts alone, plus oil. Bye Bye Jiffy lube on Anderson lane. Flat rate manual shows 2.3 hours of labor to replace the pan and gasket. That figures about $1,000 / hour at Lamb's. read more

I was afraid I would have a long wait, but was pleasantly surprised how fast and easy both the oil change and inspection were, and I never even had to get out of my car. First be aware they will make you use Pennzoil. I'm not saying its not good but they do not have Mobil one. Charged me $94.86 to change my oil. Also asked for inspection and had insurance faxed over but they didn't do it. When I paid I thought the $94 included the inspection but I guess not. Two vehicles back I owned I took synthetic transmission fluid for change and when they didn't have a good gasket seal they pulled off the transmission panel and let all the expensive synthetic run into their sump. Then I watched them put the cheap synthetic in there intending not to tell me this had happened. I wrote the Better Business Bureau and got a refund for the change. Next time I had a transmission change I got the vehicle home about a mile away and it wouldn't shift the next morning. It was two quarts short of fluid and I had to take Uber to Autozone to get that and once I filled it full it worked. Today invoice # 1335 16359927 bat4 I took 6 quarts synthetic oil and ask them to do an oil change. They pull the vehicle out of the stall and tel me "You have to go to autozone and get another quart of oil because you didn't bring enough." I said "what, I am paying for an oil change and you can't top that one quart off?" The guy then said "we don't have 5w 30 in stock, which I find hard to believe, and I said "I find it very hard to believe you knowingly let people drive out of here with low fluid levels. That is RIDICULOUS! I don't give a damn if you top off with 10w 30." So the guy goes out and does that. Either oil is ok by the manufacturer so that was ridiculous they didn't ask me if that is what I wanted them to do in the first place! Then I get out to the car and they've not reset the oil change light. So I go back in and the guy gets in the car and says "YOU have to pump the gas three times with the ignition switch on." I pretty much have concluded they expect YOU to do so much YOU might as well save the money and change the oil yourself. Just leave the old oil in a milk container outside their store for recycling. read more

In out, and very helpful. I also had my inspection done, and for some reason I did not have the current statement. (oops!) They were nice about pointing out my error, and pointed out they have a fax machine. So a quick call to my insurance company and in about 5 minutes they faxed my current insurance info right to Jiffy Lube desk. I am sure it was annoying for them on a busy Saturday morning - but they were nice about it. It took a little longer than I expected (1 hour 15 minutes) but it included the insurance document mistake was just enough time for an easy walk over to Sorrentos for an ice coffee, a few emails, and back.. and done. I went for a state inspection and oil change today. Those turned out fine, but when I got my car back there was a brown stain on the drivers seat. Upon further inspection I came to realize it was poop. I told one of the mechanics there who came over and confirmed it was poop. He cleaned it up but the stain is still noticeable, barley, but still there. Meanwhile, I went to wash my hands. When I came back out all the mechanics had disappeared and the one who "cleaned" told me I was good to go. I was given no explanation, apology, and now I have a small stain in my seat to go along with the disgust I felt this afternoon. I expect more from these type of businesses. read more

I keep meaning to update this. Since my last review, I have gone back to this location. Don't let anyone ever tell you that I don't give second chances. I spent some time creating a few snappy comebacks, put myself in a few fictitious circumstances, and was ready to take it all on!! Oh the things I was going to say to that man, never mind that it had been almost a year at that time..... I went down there, ready to verbally pounce! So, no, actually, not at all, I just wanted to get my oil changed and this was the most convenient place that day. When I got there, I noticed that none of the people that I remembered seeing were there. Okay, so Mr. Talkalot took the day off, maybe. A few months later I went back, and once again, none of the same people. It was actually the same people that were there the previous time. I had once heard a guy from the old crew talking on the phone (I have a really bad habit of eavesdropping, like, really bad) and I heard him tell someone that they were a franchise store. Maybe he sold it to these much nicer, less insulting people that gave me great service and didn't try to push anything on me? It was pretty awesome! I've lived in Austin for 2 years now, and I've never had a good experience with an oil change. Not once, until today. I'm leaving on a road trip tomorrow so I couldn't put it off any longer. Today I dropped my husband off at work at 9:30AM and drove over to this Jiffy Lube, with my laptop in a bag so that I could have something to work on for however many hours it was going to take. It took 15 minutes. No joke. I mean holy crap. I had slotted 2 hours for this errand - so now I have plenty of time to post a review! I drove up, the manager guided me to the right lane, walked me to the office, and pointed out coffee and water. I sat down for maybe a minute, and then a very nice associate (I'm terrible with names - he had short dark hair and we chatted about the Triforce on my keychain and the Psyduck on my dash!) went through the options with me, and showed me my air filter, etc. Before I was halfway finished balancing my checkbook, he came back through to tell me they were done. When the manager opened my car door for me to see me off, I told him flat-out that this was the best oil change experience I've had in two years, and that I'd be back. I actually work in customer service, specifically for a company that deals with grading front-line associates and providing feedback to management for improvements in customer retention and improved ROI. These guys nailed it, and it almost makes me wonder if they have a program similar to ours. The only reason I'm not giving this location a 5-star rating is that I know there are a few issues with my car and those were not mentioned. I've got some corrosion on the battery (which showed up less than 6 mo after Toyota installed the dang thing, and did not offer to replace it or fix it for free, which is why I'm not going THERE again), and my rear wiper blade is extremely old and barely works, but this wasn't brought up after the inspection, even though I asked about it. Still, I asked for an oil change and got it with no hassle and a minimum time investment that gave me several hours back in a very busy day. Thanks, guys!! read more

I had no appointment made. I pulled up very spur of the moment for a cosmetic issue under my car. Upon pulling up, showing the issue needing attention, they had me pull forward, encouraged me to stay seated comfortably in my vehicle while they took care of the issue. This all took less than 10 minutes. Everybody was super kind, very fast and did an incredible job. The service was quick however that ultimately contributed to my issues with my visit today. I was asked which oil I wanted for my car in a rude manner and received the wrong oil. The service had already been done once I was told the price so I thought oh well. I told the man I wanted to use a coupon and was told that it would be applied. Upon leaving and seeing the statement printed out I saw the coupon was not added to my service and I ultimately was up charged for an oil that I did not ask for. Based on the last couple of visits within the last month. The first time, I pulled in to have a headlight bulb changed, for which I'd brought my own. They did it for free, and impeccably friendly service, particularly for work they didn't make a dime on. At that time, they noticed my battery was very long-in-the-tooth, did a courtesy check on it, and pointed out it was sick (no surprise). Honestly, I was pretty sure it would be overpriced to have them sell me and install a new one, so I balked, said I'd think about it. After checking prices, found out their offer, on a 5-year warrantied battery, was as good as getting one at the cheapest place I could find, so I decided to go back and have them do it. Also noticed a $4 Rain-X service and had them do that, along with a courtesy request to Windex the INside of my front windshield. Whole job took a tad longer than I expected (maybe 20 min.), but friendly and clear about their work, as always. Manager Ron a pleasure to deal with, as well as the mechanics. Lobby among the cleaner and more pleasant ones I've had to wait in. Definitely a recommended organization and location. read more

I have been going to Jiffy Lube at 2711 West Anderson for years but they have lost my business now. On February 8, 2018 I had an oil change for my car but because the car has been leaking oil I have had to go back to Jiffy Lube 3 times in the past five months. The first time I went back they said the person who did the oil change forgot to wash out the oil pan. The car continued to leak oil, and the 2nd time I went back they tightened the screw in the oil pan. The car was still leaking oil so I went back a 3rd time. This time they put silicone around the oil plug which is something they should never do. They also cross threaded the drain plug for the oil pan. Additionally they didn't put in the plug in the oil pan properly. The plug was sticking out an inch. They tried to hide what they did but they couldn't even do this right. My car is still leaking oil. Every time I came back I spoke to the store manager, Ron Rasmussen, who offered no apology. Apparently this is business as usual for this Jiffy Lube. I will never take my car there again. Not only have they lost my business but I have been telling everyone I know about my bad experience there. Once again, Ron and team have saved the day. I have been coming to Ron religiously for 10 years (no matter what part of town I move to). I was south of town and decided to pop into another Jiffy Lube. Stupid. First, please make sure and call any Jiffy Lube before you decide to go for an inspection. I went to two and then called another, and no one would do the inspection after 4pm. Super frustrating. I called Ron at this Jiffy Lube location and of course he said to come on in, no problem. In and out in ten minutes and he even checked all the fluids and the tires. Highly recommend and will never even consider 'straying' again. read more

Thought I'd be there forever considering how many people were there, but I was in and out within 1 hour ! Got an oil and filter change. Only reason it's not 5 star is because the guy told me I needed an air filter and I said no. I pulled it to check after I left and it wasn't even dirty, still very white. Horrible service. We took our car for a simple oil change. After we left we got 3 miles from the store before our car broke down and no longer starts. In addition almost all the dashboard warning lights are on. The manager of the store is not a good person. When we called he said he "didn't even know where the battery was on our car so it's not his fault" They obviously messed something up and refuse to take care of it. One of their employees came out to check on our car and basically tested the battery which was fine and then tried to "fix" parts under our hood by whacking them with a metal pole, I wish I was kidding. Avoid this location and Ron the manager at all cost, you are better off driving with dirty oil in your car then letting anyone in this shop even look at your car. read more

I took my 2000 Ford Expedition in for an inspection and an oil change. The guy working on my car broke my gas cap, then failed the inspection because it wouldn't fit in their inspection machine. They told me go to Auto Zone and buy a new gas cap, despite having a fully functional cap when I went in. He put the original cap back in my car, which I found out later meant cramming it back in to the point where I took it back and the assistant manager had to use a screwdriver to pry it out. I went back a third time and had the whole thing refunded. The manager was nice, attentive and generous and I wish I could give him my business again, but until Jiffy Lube raises the bar for new hires I won't be going back to this one or any other location. Some of the people they hire should not be allowed anywhere near a car. read more

I've been here a few times for oil changes and a state inspection and never had any problems. Any time I've visited or even driven past it while turning into Alamo Drafthouse it's never been very busy and the wait times were pretty good. On one occasion, as the only customer at the time, a worker tried to sell me on replacing some airfilters I really didn't need, but he didn't push it on me too hard. On top of everything, each time I've been either given a coupon or discounted price and the workers friendly and straight-up. This seems like a great, quick place to get routine oil changes or inspections in the area. read more

So I go to Jiffy Lube thinking that if ya pay a little more, yah get a little more. Not the case at this location. I have been going here for nearly the past 2 years now, but my last 2/3 visits are likely my last (unless the manager contacts me, as one of the employees said he would do, but hasn't). I'll probably just start going to somewhere local or another location. Looking at other reviews, what this place says and what they do are 2 different parallel universes. 2 visits ago I had gone in for my routine 5,000 mile synthetic blend fill and everything went as normal, Except when they returned my car to me and I got in and my glove compartment was lame and not closing correctly. It was completely lopsided. Whoever had got into my car to wash my windows or get my cabin air filter knocked the glove compartment door completely off its track/hinges and had not bothered to fix it, and I don't see how it could have been missed. Anyways, I pulled over in a nearby parking lot and it took me about 5 minutes to adjust the glove box door on my Scion tc to get it back in place so that it would close correctly and not be all lop sided. I was not mad about it, just a bit annoyed. It wasn't so annoying that I was not going to go back. However, later that week I received a Jiffy Lube email asking about my service. I filled out the questionnaire and expressed my annoyance with the situation, but was polite and courteous, and recommended that employees pay closer attention and care to clients vehicles. A few days after filling out the survey I received a phone call from the Anderson location manager, Angel. He called me to apologize for the mishap and he offered me a free oil change on my next visit. I told him that I did not need to receive a free oil change and that I was happy that he called me to address the issue, and that was good enough for me. He then said that he was going to make a note in the system so that my next oil change would be free regardless of me declining the offer. I said, Wow! thanks! that's really great!" and told him I will bringing both my car and my wife's car back in the future. So a couple months pass and I drive a few hundred miles over 5,000 and decide it is time for an oil change. I was stoked to receive a free oil change and had even budgeted my monthly pay check accordingly. I went in thinking all was well, I'll get my oil change and be on my way. Nope. Not what happened. I got my oil change done and then when it came time to check out, I told the nice guy at the counter "Hey bud, I should have note in the system that I receive a free oil change. Angel had called me about a survey I filled out online and he said he was giving me a free service." The guy at the counter was dumbfounded, bewildered, confused, afraid to make any decision. There was no note to my name for a free oil change. He literally said "I don't know what to do?" about 3 times because Angel was not there for the day (Where is a manager a 1pm during the middle of the week, and why can't you call him)? Anyways, he said he could not doing anything about it, so I decided to just pay it. The guy at the desk said he would have Angel call me the next day or when he is in next. But yeah, here it is about a month later and I have not heard anything. I have not even received another email from Jiffy Lube. So I'm just annoyed with this place now. At this point I want 2 free oil changes, 1 synthetic blend for my car as promised, and one conventional oil change for my wife's car for the trouble and embarrassment I had to go through that day. Hakeem physically ran over to my car with a quick charger, jumped my battery, I drove us back to the shop, and the guys immediately changed out my battery. Unbelievable customer service. I usually go to the Jiffy Lube on Burnet closer to 183 but this location was convenient at the time. Will not return there. All of the staff was less than friendly and seemed to act burdened that I was there. They did fail my inspection because of one bad wiper blade. I understand that it is a requirement but I'm not going to pay their outrageous prices for something I can easily do myself. So, I've been going to Jiffy Lube for probably about 5 years now for my oil changes. The last time I went they did not vacuum my carpets, which I have come to love when getting oil changes here. Stopped in this morning at the Anderson location to get my car inspected before work. Was EXTREMELY pleased to find some friendly people that were willing to do their job as the store across mopac on Spicewood was not only rude, but didn't understand the actual job at hand here and then denied accountability and that my girlfriend even showed up and brought my car. If you need to get your vehicle serviced on the go, I'd 100% recommend this specific location. These guys were great and the level of customer service was on par or better than I could provide myself. This is a hard thing to find these dats and I hope corporate does everything they can to keep this kind of environment that I perceived here. read more

Was having some trouble with my car and was doing some trouble shooting myself. I had recently taken it to Yost for repairs but was still having trouble. I was trying to take off the fuel filter but couldn't. This jiffy lube was near my home so I stopped by to ask if they could help. They guy gladly helped me get off the filter. He also put in a new one. They wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount for this service and when I mentioned the price was a bit high, he said I could pay him a lower amount in cash, but we would have to make the transaction away from the camera. Then when I got home I checked my Yost paperwork. They put in a brand new K and N filter. I checked because when the guy took out the "old" filter I thought it looked a bit shiny. The point is that they are dishonest. Yes, I should've known there was a brand new filter in my car, but that guy should've been able to tell by looking at it as well. Then to try and charge me for a cheaper filter was dishonest as well. They also cheated their company by stealing cash, which I now realize probably went into their pockets and not the register. I would not trust these people. read more
