I tend to only do reviews when I'm either very happy or somehow upset. In the case of this Jiffy Lube, I'm extremely happy! I ended up here because their competition down the street, Midas, has their hours online everywhere as open Sundays. Being a true procrastinator because I'm a woman and dread dealing with auto repair guys that think I'm a homerun paycheck, I had put off my oil change till it was absolutely necessary (as in, the car was constantly reminding me that I had the choice of changing the oil or getting stuck somewhere) and needed a shop that's open Sunday. Needless to say, the Pasadena Midas doesn't know their own schedule. I drove 16 miles from S. LA only to step into 100-degree heat and discover that they weren't really open Sundays. Of course I was pretty irritated. I happened to find this Jiffy Lube about a block away. I'm glad I did because their service was amazing. I saw high standards of cleanliness and courtesy, as in they hold doors and are nice to people. They matched the coupon I had from the other place and got me in and out in about 20 minutes. When they went over the free inspection, they said all my systems were good and just to make sure to keep up on regular maintenance. Since my car has over 150k miles, I anticipated a laundry list of upsell and pressure to change and fix things, but they showed they're honest as well as very very fast. So in the future, I'll be coming back and making the drive from LA. I can honestly say Jiffy Lube Pasadena was the best experience I've ever had at an auto repair shop. I wouldn't normally go to a Jiffy Lube, mainly due to my loyalty to my long term mechanic and suspicion of chain establishments, but I didn't have the time to go/drop the car off and wait for an oil change at my regular shop. I went there before work today, and they changed out my oil, topped off the coolant and did so efficiently and professionally. A PRE-CANCER WARD. I went in for an oil change for my car. I tried to sit in the waiting area, but it was filled with tobacco odors. There was one other customer in the waiting area, but she was not smoking. I asked if there was another waiting area and was told I could go outside. I did and it was fine, but I gave for worse. When the oil change was done, I entered my car. My car reeked of tobacco. The oil change was fine and the price was good, but there are plenty of other Jiffy Lubes. If you don't mind inhaling tobacco vapors, this location is fine. I, personally, will not go this Jiffy Lube ever again. read more

The staff at Jiffy Lube store 1027 WALNUT & HILL Pasadena, Ca.....had the best customer service and professionalism I've seen in any business in a long time. Upon arrival I was greeted with a welcoming atmosphere. David, Richard and the rest of the staff took care of me which I greatly appreciate. I was explained in detail what was going to be done with my car and what was needed. The waiting area was very clean and comfortable. I watched tv and drank hot coffee which was available to me. I think this is probably the best service I've ever experienced at a oil change. The entire staff was helpful and super respectful. They explained everything and every charge and were very thorough. They even changed my headlight for me at no charge since I couldn't get the bulb out when i tried myself. I highly recommend and will be back. I had a bad experience with Pasadena Pep Boys where they had my car for an oil change that I had made an appointment for at 11:30am and kept my car til closing only to find they couldn't change my oil because they stripped my drain plug and had no solution. Jiffy Lube not only took the time to take the stripped drain plug off, but they generously replaced the part and performed my oil change at a discounted rate. José at this location was fast, funny, and friendly! I expressed to him my concerns on the oil change prices and he gave me options that I was most comfortable with. From my experience, every time I've gone to Valvoline to get an oil change they always try to haggle me and pressure me to get the most expensive option for my car. Although José did assure me that they carry premium oils that will make my car run better, smoother, and longer he found the right oil that option for my car that I was most comfortable with paying for.
