I used to live near here and went to this Jiffy Lube once a few years ago. It was the worst experience ever. I just wanted them to check my engine and get an oil change, but ended up getting charged stupid stuff like engine cleaning. I don't remember what else. The worst thing was seeing several mechanics hovering over my engine, whispering, and glancing furtively around. Seriously? That should have warned me something was wrong (besides the stupid charges)--but I was very naive about cars at the time. Turned out very soon after, my car had heating problems that cost several hundred dollars to fix, and a nightmare in wasted time and energy to deal with. It's bad enough to be charged unnecessary services and to be overcharged for needed services, but for mechanics to deliberately mess up a customer's car is way beyond unethical. Within a few years, the car's transmission was dead. This car was less than 15 years old. Took my work vehicle in to get a standard oil change which you think they would be able to do but some how managed to mess that up. Jiffy Lube employees are absolute cons, two weeks ago I took my car to change the oil, first the guy tried to sell me every service possible besides oil change, i had to decline every single one, then they told me my break light is out and my license plate light is out as well. I agreed to have them change it, to find out a day later that they never even unscrewed the light bulb that illuminates the licences plate, in spite of the fact that they charged me the money to do it. I took my car back and complained to the manger, his response was" mistakes happen". I will never take my car back there ever again. read more

I came here for a routine oil change and ended up with my car needing to be towed to the dealership. They suggested that along with my oil change, I should get my battery changed. Unfortunately I agreed to let them. They did the replacement and then blew the main fuse. After the mechanic kept walking back and forth across the street to get the advice of an outside body shop, I finally told him to stop so I could have it taken to a REAL professional. This Jiffy Lube in one of the better ones. Been here several times and 90% of the time they are professional and do their job correctly. Other times they don't clean the windows but make them more dirty or forget to reset the oil change indicator or forget to check the tire pressure per my instructions. But I find them overall very good and will go back. Just check their work and have them show you what they change out. They are honest and in my opinion will not oversell you. read more

I brought my Audi Q7 and Toyota Prius here for a oil change in August. Over the weekend I got a fine from the city due to oil leaking in my drive way. I took my cars to a mechanic who let me know that whoever did my oil change last did not put the bolts back on my Audi correctly, resulting in the oil spill. He then told me I needed a oil change because my oil was low and burnt, black. I let him know I had just taken it in to Jiffy Lube 3 weeks prior, he told me that they had absolutely ripped me off and we're known to do so, typically with women. I am here now, at this Jiffy Lube location. I pulled up at 11:56, it is now 1:31. When I arrived I asked to speak to a manager, they asked what it was regarding, I told them the situation, they told him what was going on. He did not come to my car for almost 30 minutes. They have now been working on my car over a hour, they said that they will tighten everything and clean it up... how this is taking over a hour, I have no idea. I have not seen the manager/supervisor since I spoke with him. No one has come to me with information, I have had to flag them down several times in order to find out what is going on. When I asked why it is taking so long and why the manager has not come to speak with me about the situation they said that they will file a incident report to keep in the back. So, I came to jiffy lube for a oil change, they did a shit job, their shit job caused my oil to leak all over my drive way resulting in a fine from the city. I now need to have the oil cleaned, which will cost more money. Jiffy lube has taken 2 hours to "fix" the problem (tighten the bolts). They said they will not be putting anymore oil in my car, that the oil level is fine for the miles driven. I have not been issued any sort of refund or apology. read more

Very bad customer service experience, I went in for a standard oil change; I normally go to Valvoline but I had a coupon for $18 off any jiffy lube oil change at this Location; so I was in the area and went in for an Oil change, he tried to tell me my Basic Engine needed synthetic oil for $80; I have had the car for 3 years now and I have only done conventional oil 5w20 an never paid more then $38 for an oil change He told me I needed to sign this paper and so if anything bad happens to my car I cant say it was because I didn't pay for the $80 oil change; I timed them it took 40 minutes, after being told it would take less then 20 minutes... Valvoline is always 15 minutes or less. Then he comes back and says "YOUR MISSING YOUR TRANSMISSION TUBE CAP" and did some weird creepy smirk/laugh; I just asked him so you lost it? Had him show me the missing part while he continued to think it was funny or something. I came on here to check the reviews other people had and I am shocked this business practice exist in Thousand Oaks, I am thinking of going to the Better Business Bureau now. There is something very unethical about this place and I am not the first one to obviously come across this unfortunate practice. Trust the other reviews; pass on this... go to a local mechanic, or a competitor... I am done with Jiffy Lube for life after this BS. read more

I was long overdue for an oil change and routine maintenance and was short on time, so I went to Jiffy Lube on my lunch break. After my service was complete and driving home, the car began to stall and several dash board lights came on until the car died right in front of my house. I immediately called the shop and explained the issue. Without any hesitation, and in the pouring rain, Steve the manager drove to my house and personally guaranteed he would fix it. Several hours later, and I'm sure quite a bit of searching and repair, he returned the key and the car to my house for no additional charge. It turned out an acorn became lodged in the air intake. Had I taken it to the dealer, it would have most certainly cost me north of $500 to diagnose and repair. Got my oil changed yesterday. I have a Corvette and am VERY picky with any work done on my car. This model Corvette actually has a complicate oil system and requires expertise to change the oil correctly or the engine can suffer catastrophic failure. If you want to keep your car in one piece - DON'T EVER GO TO THIS JIFFY LUBE. They are crooks and scam artists. I stopped here because I got a message on my dash display that I was low on oil. They claimed they had no record of my visits yet I've visited this Jiffy Lube and the other one in Thousand Oaks for years. They made me complete a whole new client record and then PRETENDED to give my Corvette an oil change. I asked for Mobil One [the only authorized oil for a Corvette - even says so on the oil cap]. They charged my almost $100.00 for an oil change I DIDN'T GET! Not only did they NOT put Mobil One in my Corvette - THEY PUT IN NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Oil at all! After waiting and having the people that were supposed to be changing my oil continue to stop and come in the office to check on the World Cup game I was offered a discount for my delay. I don't know why I keep going back?? It's fast, usually and that might be the only reason! I was there on Saturday to get my oil changed. That went without incident except I was there for over an hour. I went back today to have my tires rotated. I left my car and it was done when I got back... no problem! When I went to pay I wasn't allowed to use the coupon. "Oh that service isn't allowed with that coupon." It doesn't say anywhere that you can't use the coupon. I decided to try this Jiffy Lube for a routine oil change, as I now drive by it a lot on my way to my new gym. While on one hand they were fast and courteous, the upsell started as soon as I sat down...you need filters, special fluids, etc. I said ".....let's get out my manual". We did, and only one of these items was actually due....the cabin air filter. I ok'd it, and got a bill for $39.99 for the part (probably cost them $5, or $10 if I wanted to get crazy), and $30 in labor for something that at most took 5 minutes, so a rate of over $300 per hour. I called for a quote on an oil change for a 2007 prius. My previous shop charged me 39 dollars, the tech on the phone told me that it would be 100 dollars. When i asked why it was so expensive, he said it was because the car needs a lot of oil, which blatantly isn't the case. they claim to charge 19 dollars for labor. the car takes 4 quarts of oil. That comes out to 20 dollars a quart for the oil. The same oil can be purchased at autozone for 4.50 a quart. For professional scam artists, they're pretty bad at it. read more

This should be 0 stars. Do not trust your car here! I took my car in for an oil change on my lunch hour on 11/16/15 and I was upsold on services I was told I needed, including a fuel system cleaning - they said it had scored 4/10 and need to be cleaned. After all the upsells, the total cost was $428. Because of the extra services, it took longer than expected and I was in a rush to get back to work, so when I got in my car and saw the engine light on (new problem), I figured it was just a sensor issue and I would come back after work to have it checked out. When I started my car after work, it turned off right away (this is a 2013 Chevy Cruze I bought brand new 2 years ago). Weird, because they put a new battery in at lunch. I start the car again, make my way down the road but my car is bouncing up and down, idling strange and ready to shut down. I keep it running, make it through the light onto Thousand Oaks Blvd toward Westlake Blvd and I can't brake. My brakes are not working. I swerved to miss hitting a car and went up the median . I had to turn the car off to stop. After traffic passes, I start the car again to get to the Shell station across the street. I made it across the busy intersection, pull into the gas station and still no brakes. I have to turn off the car to stop. I called AAA for a tow and they took me to the nearest auto repair garage - Preferred Auto. I get a call from the mechanic in the morning and tell him what happened and the services that Jiffy Lube charged me for. They call me back an hour later and advise me to call Jiffy Lube to ask how they perform the fuel system cleaning. I have my fiance call them and Jiffy Lube said they put an additive in the gas tank and they disconnect a brake vacuum line and spray cleaner through it. I call the mechanic back to pass this on. The mechanic tells me that my brakes and engine failed because my brake booster hose was BROKEN AND SUPERGLUED BACK ON. This is a critical part of the brake system! My entire intake manifold and hoses needs to be replaced and I need a realignment after going up the median. Other damage has yet to be determined. My current estimate is approx $1500. We called Jiffy Lube, they apologized and said they would cover all repair expenses and reimburse me for the services. Then when they get the repair estimate for $1500, claim that the mechanic is gouging us and they can get the parts cheaper. They offer to reimburse $850 IF I sign a release of liability. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? They caused me to lose my brakes, which could have killed me or someone else and they are haggling over the cost of the repairs?? When asked how they would handle the technician that did this, they said he would be talked to. They have no regard for human life, no morals or ethics. This review is way overdue, My friends prompted me to do it to notify the public of my experience at this Jiffy Lube location. I went in for an oil change since I had a coupon. The clerk kept trying to sell me things I didn't need, then he brought out an old dirty air filter with leaves in it. I was like "that is mine? I just change mine a couple months ago, it can't be that dirty" He replied "yes it is" I asked how much for a new one & he replies $60, I was like no way I paid $20 for mine at the auto parts store. I asked if he could just blow the leaves out and he said no, that would ruin the filter. So I went on my way bought another filter came home to change it & I noticed it was just like new. I figure what happened was he was showing me somebody else's dirty air filter & said it was mine. He lied & I was glad I didn't fall for his trick. Was told my car had an oil plug that was the wrong plug for my car. They refused to change my oil saying to do so would strip threads in oil pan forcing me to replace the pan. Took car to previous place I had oil changed and changed oil - no problem, no leaks, no new oil pan. They also tried to sell me synthetic oil saying Jiffy records showed I bought synthetic oil the last time, which was UNTRUE. Needless to say, I will not come back here. read more

These guys are fair and honest business and they do a great job changing oil. If you need your oil changed and you can afford the maintenance on your vehicle, this is the place to go. If you can't afford an oil change because you leased or got a huge loan on a fancy new car or huge truck you can't really afford, please learn to do it yourself and stop cutting these guys down. I've been going to them for years because I work full time, drive a dependable old car and I commute long distance to work and I just don't want to get dirty. I don't have any extra time and I'm not rich. I'm a secretary (assistant, excuse me!) Last time I went in, the handle on my hood release broke off. As I said, it's old (2003 Honda Civic w/130 k miles). At first I thought I'd just super glue it on and told the mechanic, no problem. Silly me. Then I realized Super Glue will not hold a broken hood release handle in place. Oh no! What now? Well these guys always make sure you are happy. So while I was filling out the survey they email to me after every job, I told them about it. They called me the next morning, ordered the part (about $20) and did the repair (dealer wants $210 in labor and parts). I didn't even have to show them my reciept. Luis met me in the parking lot and told me Carlos (manager) would set it up for me and call me. I showed up on Saturday at their location on TO & Erbes. The mechanic went to work, had to remove my entire front bumper and head light and then put it all back together. He (James) had me out of there in time for me to get my dog to the vet for her shots. It took about an hour and a half. I walked up to 7-11 for a hot roll up and came back and they were done. No id or receipt was required from me. These are really nice guys. They work very hard for a living and I really appreciate it. And hey, I got a brand new hood release installed and all I paid for was my terrific oil change! Wow! I hope they break anything else on my car cause I know they will replace it with brand name parts and I just love the great job they do. I'm going to keep my car in good shape and keep showing up for oil changes with them every 3 months (along with the coupon they email me). Thanks, guys! read more

After a bad experience at the jiffy lube in Moorpark a few months ago, I was wary of trying any jiffy lube ever again. But when it came time for the oil change, I decided to give this one a try since it's near my work. What a great experience! Sure, they have to go through the standardized up selling, which is annoying...but all employees were upbeat, explained everything thoroughly, and we're very polite.
