This was an Email to corporate- and only got a generic response back. Same way all their responses on here are cookie cutter. We were traveling on 7/23/24 and specifically planned to have a stop at a Jimboys for tacos. Having only been to various other locations over the past 30 years, we just followed Apple Maps to the closest Jimboys. Fairfield was disappointing. Now that I look at the Yelp reviews, I see that we are not alone in our dissatisfaction. We wanted to share this information because this location is doing a huge disservice to the Jimboys name and reputation! Issues of note: *The AC was set to 85 degrees (I could see that from where I was sitting), and it was very uncomfortable. I can't even imagine how the employees felt. We ended up sitting outside in the horrible heat, because at least then there was a breeze! *They charge for condiments such as jalapeños? And according to other reviews: onions, etc as well! Looking at the Jimboy's app, it's not common practice to charge! I guess that's their franchise decision to make, but wow 45c for a tiny cup? Pretty lame. *The ENTIRE salsa bar is GONE! Nothing. Not one item. It's just sitting there empty. Cheapskate is all that tells me. *We had to go back inside and ASK for taco sauce. Annoying, but whatever. Glad we realized it. If we had driven off and realized it later, that would have been obnoxious. Even Taco Bell knows to ask if you want taco sauce! *Skimping on the parmesan cheese is just another cost cutting measure. At the end of the day, I just wanted corporate to know that the Fairfield Jimboy's is disrespecting the historical and amazing business that it otherwise is. read more

First the bad news, there are no Jimboy's Tacos in the greater bay area. The good news?! What makes a great road trip?! The food! Drive to Fairfield, get a six-pack of tacos. Even better, get 2 six-packs! Eat the first six-pack while you're there and take the other six-pack home. These tacos re-heat great in the oven! 300 degrees for about 10 minutes. You're welcome. Been coming here for years. I went here last weekend. Had a few people in the lobby eating. I decided to stop and grab a combo to fill me up on my way to Sacramento. Was extremely disappointed and should have just waited to go to the jimboys in Sacramento. The tacos were barely full of ingredients. Taste wasn't off i was just disappointed. The fries, which were wierdly cut potato wedges, had so much seasoning salt on one side that i couldn't finish them. This is a new one for me since i hate wasting food. I decided to try out Jimboy's Tacos again since they first opened several years back. My first time trying Jimboy's Tacos was at a Sacramento Area location but I couldn't remember I had them so today felt like a first time experience. Today I ordered 2 of their Original Tacos with a side of guacamole and Queso Fries. The tacos were a bit too greasy for me and the dusting of Parmesan Cheesbout side the shell was a bit messy and didn't taste any distinct flavor with it but I'd rather not have it, if I decide to order it again. A friend of mine said she agreed but said the Shrimp Tacos are good so maybe that's what I'll order if I decide to eat Jimboy's Tacos again. I wish they had Nacho Dries on their menu and would order it if the do or if it an off the menu order request. Overall it wasn't the worst I've tried just a little tweaks her and there would probably have me as a loyal customer. My overall rating is 3.5 . Last night for dinner Sunday 03/26/2025 I decided to have Jimboy's Tacos. I ordered a Cgrilled Chicken Quesadilla with extra Grilled Chicken with the condiments in side container and an Order of The Loaded Taquitos 1/2 & 1/2 also Ty the sides ina side containers but I guess the Cashier or employer didn't get the Memo because the sides were inside the to go container which makes me. Little angry because employees don't pay attention to do so. My mentality is they simply don't care to pay attention because with Minimum Wahe doesn't motivate them enough to do a good job. IMO they figure they're getting paid so why please the customer? The Grilled Chicken Quesadilla ordered was delicious and each slice was nice and thick filled with the perfect amount of Grilled Chicken, next time I'll ask for extra cheese too. I went to another Jimboy's Tacos awhile back. The food was so delicious. Unfortunately they don't have and locations where I live, or anywhere near. I looked forward to coming to Norcal, so that I could enjoy it again. Today was the day. I went to the location, and placed and order, and paid, I asked the cashier "Do I need a code for the restroom?" Cashier said "The restroom is temporarily closed." I asked "that's not cool, Do you know if there is another restroom close by?"  (I wanted to wash my hands before I eat.) Cashier said (in a rude mocking manner) "No." I said "Ok," and l literally waved it off, and turned around to walk out the door to look for a restroom." Cashier said "Do you have a problem?" I turned back around, and said "Excuse me?" Cashier said "What are you going to do about it?" I said " I was going to look for a restroom." Cashier accuses me of flipping him off, and I explained that I didn't then, he mimicked my hand motion, acknowledging he knew I didn't flip him off. The cook guy comes out from the back and starts in on it. (check the camera, I didn't flip anyone off.) I explained to the cook that the cashier was being rude, and at this time the cashier hands me a $10 and told be to leave and never come back. I take the $10 bill and turn to walk to the door, and the cook guy comes after me. The cook guy is still asking "what is the problem," "what do you want" I explain "I wanted the restroom, but this guy was being rude about it." The cook guy says "The restroom is out of order," "why are you still here, why aren't you leaving" I explained that I was answering him, because he was speaking to me...then I walked out, a little confused, and very disappointed. I still want some of those Tacos, and hope to find another location while on my work day today. Is the restroom out of order, or is it temporarily closed? Which is it? Either way it is a health code violation. Updated: California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law - Section 114120 requires restroom facilities. So, the owner has been emailing me. He calls me a liar, but refuses to point out any part that is not true. He now is trying to claim "white privilege" on me...so I guess he is a racist? I am not, my wife is Mexican. (But he obviously doesn't know that.) I also don't think only white people wash their hands before they eat, but he seems to think so. He claims to know the laws, so he must have intentionally broke it. For anyone that might think "white privilege," it doesn't exist for me...I work 60-70+ hours a week, my greatest joy is to pay for tasty food like those tacos. Online order: quick, easy, and simple. no pinching, weird scrolling (yes, it's still a thing with others in this day and age). very mobile friendly. can't ask for anything more in my humble opinion. Pick up: the food is ready when they say it's ready. the way the staff packaged the 6-tacos (his) and fish tacos (hers) was built for traveling. shocking, I know. pinch me. I couldn't believe myself. Food: *consistently* (keyword) delicious. we live approximately 35 minutes away and food quality does not suffer. the hub will even leave a few to microwave and eat at work the next day and according to him, food quality holds!! First when I was very young back in the 50s the first Taco I ever saw or ate moving from the Midwest to California was my parents stopping at a Jimboys. As a little kid from the Midwest I was in love with a new taste and smell and eating experience. I have eaten at Jimboys 100s of times since then and it's always been my favorite Taco. I know where a lot of the locations around Sacramento area are so if I'm close when I head home I have Jimboys with me. Then finally you went further than Davis to Fairfield with a Jimboys of my own. I did have to drive that far away any longer to enjoy the Jimboys that I loved. I have had a few hiccups with the service over the years but never with the ground beef tacos. Now I take my kids and grandkids to Jimboys they all have a favorite item there. My daughter is like me a ground beef Taco. My Son in Law Steak Burrito my grandson loves the Tahoe grilled chicken Burrito and my granddaughter loves the grilled chicken Taco. The only thing I could ask for is to bring back the salsa bar. I made my monthly trek to Jimboys Tacos yesterday in Fairfield. I grew up on Jimboys Tacos and they have been my favorite for years. Unfortunately the Jimboys in Fairfield has gone downhill fast. First they eliminated their in house made salsa selections. Upon entering yesterday we saw a sign that only cards were accepted and we had to place our order ourselves. Once our tacos arrived, I knew immediately that something was off. The tacos were burnt and tasted of stale grease. They were so crunchy that the taco broke apart on the first bite, spilling out the contents on the paper sleeve. The rest of our tacos were the same. I am so disappointed. Terrible customer service and corporate does not care. We waited 40 minutes for two tacos that were prepared incorrectly. The staff offered to remake one taco, when we pointed out that the other was incorrect also, after handling cash, the same worker took it back in the kitchen, put cheese on a cold taco and tried to re-serve the same taco. I asked for a refund and the cashier, Andrea D., argued that she would only refund one taco because they were already remaking the other one. She eventually refunded both and threw the money on the counter. She would not share the name of the owner or district manager and flippantly told us to look online and call corporate. I have contacted corporate three times via email and by phone with no response. I then attempted to call the location directly and was hung up on immediately when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Finally, after the 3rd call someone who identifies as a manager, Alondria, was very rude and unhelpful and also did not want to offer her name. She said "ok so can I talk now" after I explained this issue. Then stated "If you got a refund, I can't do nothing else about it." This is the level of customer service and professionalism at the Fairfield CA location. Still no response from corporate. There are good taquerias in Fairfield, avoid this place at all costs. I literally placed a doordash PICK UP order and I checked our order as soon as my man got in the car.. one item (a burrito) was missing so I told him to go back in and let them know.. the people working HAD THE NERVE to say "contact doordash and they'll refund you." The chicken tacos are bomb. The ground beef tacos are way too salty we couldn't eat it. Which has salt usually is never a problem for me. Also the kids meal comes with a churro that has no sugar on it, I guess their kids but my kids know how a churro is suppose to come. Also it comes with beans or rice not both. Closest Jimboy to the Bay Area. Stopped here and placed an order to go, I was surprised at the very long wait (over 30 mins) at a non meal time - 4 pm on a Saturday. When I got home, unfortunately not everything I ordered was included. I understand that mistakes happen, and I didn't have time to check my order before leaving because my children were getting very antsy. I did notice another customer checking their bag before leaving, so lesson learned. This Jimboy has a rougher clientele than some of its other locations, there are homeless in the parking lot (where are they not in the Bay Area?), but the overall vibe was a bit off while alone as a woman with my small children. Having grown up in Sacramento, I don't remember not knowing about and eating Jimboys--I've had tacos at so many area Jimboy's. This particular location is really, really good. I've been here three times on trips to or from the Bay Area, and feel confident in saying that this is the best location I've ever had. it's consistently really good. This place is now my go to taco joint when in the area :) I even back tracked to come eat here while driving from San Francisco back home to Seattle. I was starving and god knows why I found myself at the worst Del Taco ever (the one in Vacaville off Peabody) after having to deal with the ignorance of the staff working and blatant disregard for customer service I left and found myself at Jimboy's thank god!!!! These ground beef tacos are super yummy great flavor and just the right amount of juice in the meat...you know when you take a bite and get some juice in your meat but not enough to make your taco shell soggy. So I'm updating my review because I just finished eating half of my tahoe ground beef burrito and boy am I disappointed! My wife and i were trying to celebrate cinco de mayo but that failed! I prefer no lettuce so not as full as would be with it. No drive thru service. Staff is very friendly and nice. Didn't take a long time to get it. Since my friend said that it was pretty good, I agreed to try it out. The food here is pretty average, which isn't a bad thing. It fulfilled the need of me being satiated, but its average, Americanized Mexican fast food. The staff that we interacted with were fairly friendly.
