Best experience I've had at a Jimmy hulas thus far. We ordered takeout and they were some of the best fish tacos I've ever had.

For me personally, the reigning champ of fast-casual tacos is, hands down, Tijuana Flats. Jimmy Hula's however, has come very very close to dethroning the title for me. Of course, you may think 'another taco place'? and I might say 'Tijuana Flats', but those are both unfair things to say in the face of Jimmy Hula's. Jimmy's is just different, with some interesting fusion flavors (Pulled pork with MAC N CHEESE topping on a taco? OMG YES!). Whereas TF offers outstanding traditional flavors, Jimmy Hula's blows your mind with unconventional tacos, like teriyaki tacos and buffalo chicken tacos. The adventurous flavors also carry over to their burgers... like a teriyaki burger with pineapple... or the burger that has slices of roast pork and ham as well, I have also joked (though not really a joke) that I always wish taco places sold French fries...well Jimmy Hula's not only has that covered, but take it to the next level with a variety of flavors, and offering tater tots as well! The flip side is that ALL Jimmy's basically has are burgers and soft shell tacos. They do have a couple of other sandwiches and the rice bowls... but if you're thinking you want a burrito, or you want one hard shell taco and one soft shell, that kind of variety would not be found here. So choosing between a place like Jimmy Hula's and a place like Tijuana Flats isn't so much about which has the better taco, but what is the variation you're looking for? For more traditional fair offered in a variety of formats (burritos, tacos, quesadillas, etc), something like TJ is a better choice. But if you're looking for a variety of flavor and want to mix it up, Jimmy Hulas is definitely worth checking out. Price point wise, this is typical for fast casual. $4 for a taco isn't so bad because most people can only down about 2. Big eaters (and don't be embarrassed, you know who you are) will ALWAYS complain. Like my co-worker who complains he spends $18 at Five Guys. People who wanna eat large on the cheap need to stay home. read more

First time visited Jimmy Hulas's tonight since they've open here in Altamonte. First off the lot location, they only have one entry and that's from 434. They should have an entry in the back of the parking lot by the Wawa. Service was quick! My husband ordered the Hulios burger and fries, and I had the Wipeout Shrimp taco and Malibu Fish taco. Total of $19.00. My husband wasn't impress with the burger. He said nothing like Five guys or Backyard burger but it's about the same price as those places. He said it could use more bbq sauce. My blackened fish taco was okay. Not much fish with a pile of letuce and it was a little too salty for me. The chips that came with my two tacos tasted old. The Wipeout taco however was delicious! I wish they have some condiments on the table. Couldn't salt our regular fries and no hot sauce or salsa to dip chips. Love the atmosphere though. Will give it another try! read more

Really good food, I love the fish tacos and they are actually inexpensive so that's a plus. Only problem I have is that the sides are WAY overpriced and you don't get a lot for that money. Like a side of fries is more than a fish taco, but they hardly give you any fries. Moral: Just get two tacos (as separate orders so they give you two sides of chips) and don't get any sides. Just had a burger today for the first time. I got tired of the fish tacos so I ordered a Santa Barbara and I was pleased. It was a little top much lettuce and it was wilted because the put the hot burger right on the lettuce. Usually I find shredded lettuce would quicker and should be chilled so it stays crisper. The Mojo Tots were great as usual and the shipping sauce was good. I however would have cooked the Tots longer to make then crisper. Not sure what it is with me today but I seem to be on a crispy kick with all my food. read more

Ignore the lame reviews, my girl and I just tried this place for the first time tonight and it's INCREDIBLE. The food is super fresh. Do you like chill vibes? Do you like island style lagers? Not impressed. The atmosphere is cool but what I ordered sounded better on paper than the real thing. Plus they advertise breakfast but don't have any menus to show me. A cook told a few of the items but that was it. Sooo why advertise breakfast if none of the staff know what's for breakfast. We drove past this place probably 15 times and every time we "thought" about stopping. We tried it for lunch today and it was AWESOME! I had the Pork Pipeline taco which was the best taco I have EVER had. My fiancé had 2 others...Wipeout and a chicken one that I can't remember the name of. He really liked his too. The staff here is super friendly but the food was disappointing. I've been frequenting the Aloma location and even the lake Mary location before I found out this one existed a few weeks ago. I've gone twice and both times were the same. The jimmichurri tacos barely have any meat on them, and what is on them just tastes like steak. I can't taste and chimmi sauce, or maybe it's because there's a pound of cabbage on each taco to make up for what it lacks in protein. I think the other locations may need to teach this one a thing or two. read more

Food is usually pretty good and we order from here through Uber eats fairly often. However, when dining in tonight the restaurant was really dirty. It wasn't busy and the open tables were sticky and filled with remnants of dirty napkins and shreds of food. A staff member offered to clean our table after we sat, which was appreciated, but she managed to spray my kid and I with cleaning solution (unintentionally, but after the third spray I was annoyed). After seeing how dirty the inside was, I can't imagine the kitchen being much cleaner. It will be a while before we try here again. read more

Went back to Jimmy Hula's today with my mom. I ordered the voodoo taco once again but this time it had way too much of the voodoo sauce, an huge portion of lettuce and covered in pineapple salsa, so I could hardly taste the fish. I also got the Johnny Utah taco. It's a great concept but there was an oversized mound of cold Mac n cheese.... Pretty sad because it could have been really good. For an appetizer, I order the zucchini fries. They didn't have much flavor and were over battered, but the sauce they came with tasted great. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. Ordered 3 tacos and mojo fries. Fries never came, asked for a refund and was told it was not possible and to come back another time and I could get fries for free. Seems like very poor customer service to forget to to give a patron all the food they ordered and then tell them they can't have a refund... for the food they never received. Jimmy Hula's... I can't believe after being a regular here that I totally didn't review this yet!! Tsk tsk..I honestly thought I already did. Anyway, what's not to love about this place?! Absolutely nothing!! This place is a great pick me up after a long day at work, a place to chill, catch up with some good conversations and company. The decorations here are so much fun! They have all kinds of string lights all over, surf stuff, African mask, Hawaiian decors.. you name it--I mean just a hodge podge of different things. It's also a very colorful place. Every time i go, i notice something new from the decorations I hadn't seen before. There's indoor seating and outdoor patio seating for those nice Florida weather days. The food here is really amazing! Known for their fish tacos, and some amazing crema sauce they use! And if you're a vegetarian, they even have a taco on the menu called "tree hugger". There's food for everyone. The prices are reasonable. The place is not small, and not big either- Just small enough for intimacy and yet big enough for a family too. My other favorite thing about this place is the reggae music!!!! I love me some reggae... it really helps me relax and unwind... and I don't know of many mainstream places that play reggae! I am so happy to have Jimmy Hula's in Altamonte! The location could be better but a place this good can really be anywhere. The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly. Jimmy Hula's has a very laid back, California beach atmosphere. We tried the crack'd corn appetizer, mojo fries, the epic fish taco, the luau taco with steak, the wipeout taco, and the Jimichurri steak taco. Next time we will try their burgers. We did NOT have one thing that we didn't like, but we DID have favorites. Out of those 4 tacos, my favorite was the steak jimichurri and my Fiance's was the Luau with steak. The fries are perfectly crispy and the mojo dipping sauce was SOOOO flavorful! It tasted even better than I thought it was going to. Really good place! Right at the corner of my place. I go between 2-3 times a week. Pros: Their fish tacos are amazing. Big portions, amazing taste and all for a good price. Two fish tacos should be enough to fill you up (about $8.00). Their service is pretty fast. The guys taking your order are very friendly. I haven't found better fish tacos in town. Cons: Sometimes it might feel little warm but it goes with the tropical set up they have. Overall: A Really Good Place!
