(The Short Story Review, Continued) After getting my "complimentary" Dasani bottle, I managed to get a laugh as I noticed the once oft advertised slogan on the back of the two wayward employees' uniform shirts: "Freaky Fast. Freaky Fresh". (-8) 2 customers, almost 25 minutes later? And our sandwich still needs to be made? Not so much, then, on the former claim. Unable to assess the latter claim quite yet. Finally, "Spicy Italian" also bends and snaps for his agua and leaves with his dinner. Only us now. Praise the sandwich Gods we are sharing one giant sandwich. Who knows how much longer two regular ones would have taken! Especially since the guy in training has asked me at the point of sale to verbally tell him what add ons I wanted, insisted he "got it" even though I told him it was a lot to remember. You got it. (-9) Customers are forced to pay for the sandwich before it is even made. Come to think of it, every other fast casual, create your own customizable, cafeteria style place requires that you pay for your food when it is finished, and not before. And of course the only place that makes you pay for it before is the only place where it would have made the difference. Because then customers would have the opportunities to escape when they realize exactly how long it's going to take! (-10) I hate to report I was correct when I tried to have trainee wait until he was making the sandwich to ask me to tell him what add ons I was desiring. No surprise, the manager now wants to know, again, which ones I want. And sadly, because of the blocked once customizable area, I was obligated to walk back to the menu in the front of the store to refer to the list. Before I get to the actual food, (+1) I do wish to compliment the cleanliness and cleverness of the dining area. I suppose the "cleverness" had always been standard for the "hipster" and "philosophical" brand image for them, and I have always taken pleasure in reading the various tin signs and the quotes printed onto some tables. Wish I could report that we had our food and all was forgiven. We were so hungry we started eating it in the parking lot, even though we had intended to go home. (-11) Soggy bread already, maybe because it took 20+ minutes to complete the sandwich "building" process! Meat was thin and much less generous in quantity than I remember. Vegetables were definitely less plentiful than other competitors, most notably the far more value friendly Subway. Even their most similar in taste profile competitor, last name Mike's, had ingredients that are notably fresher. They also only offer two bread choices, wheat and white (French). Also would have been nice if they could offer to heat the sandwiches. Bread was therefore cold and tough. Ingredients mushy and lacking in the freshness department. Well, there is the assessment of the latter employee uniform shirt claim, as promised. What else good can I say? (+2) Both men that served us were quite friendly. Theywere nothing but polite and seemed to be doing what they thought was best. I might have let this all go out of good faith if not for two things. One, I do feel a higher obligation to report the truth and maybe even warn my readers and other potential patrons. Secondly, the manager did highlight the option to provide feedback on the receipt and even went so far as to indicate it, even requesting, "Tell us how you like the sandwich. Go to this website, tell us how we did!" I wish I could believe he said this because he knew the truth and wanted to be held accountable for some less than stellar decisions made. But I am afraid the truth is that he has no idea how badly he did and I therefore feel it is the right thing to do to let him know. I go to this location quite frequently, but the delivery is getting bad. It's very disappointing that they not considering quality when they deliver. If I pick up, or eat there it's no problem, but get delivery and receive the wrong order, stale chips, and old lettuce. No refunds either! read more

Great service, well mannered and funny. This was my first time at Jimmy John 's. They helped answer all my questions in order to find a sandwich that was right for me! I got the Italian Night Club which was pretty good and my boyfriend loved the JJ Gargantuan. I wish they had more bread options though, that really disappointed me. They have an area to pick up your preordered food and even curbside. We ate there instead of taking it with us and the store has a nice vibe. It was clean, well lit, and had many interesting signs to read on the wall. Our table even had a nice quote on it. There were a variety of areas to sit down. There was a bar stool table, a few booths, and even a normal table with chairs. All of the areas could fit an entire family or even a work get together. Great restaurant along the side of the busy 281 highway. It's at a super convenient location with plenty of parking. You can easily get in and out of the area without too much traffic. I came in late night on a weekday, so the restaurant was fairly empty. The food came out lightning fast as usual - about 3 minutes or so. They had day-old bread for $.50 so I picked up a loaf as well. I forgot to tell them it was To-Go, but that did not stop them with great customer service in offering me a bag to put my sandwiches in. I love the soft thin bread they give you and I always enjoy their tuna sandwich. The tuna tastes fresh and the veggies are never limp. The best part is the consistency along with the price point ($10-15 for two people for a sandwich). I love Jimmy John's. Don't get me wrong. I love it. But this location is struggggggling. Ordered ahead of time for delivery. 2 hrs a head of time for a 6pm delivery! 6:15 I call them and the sandwiches aren't even done and they don't know when they'll be able to get a delivery out. I offer to pick up. 25 minutes later I get there the sandwiches still weren't done. I get it was a "catering" order of 10 subs cut into 3. But still.... Not happy. Me: hello I'm wanting to place a order for 25 sandwiches Her: omg this lady is ordering 25 sandwiches, I don't want this call, you take it. She doesn't even know what she wants. Outstanding customer service! I walked in with less than 10 minutes to closing. I knew this was a jerk move but I was craving Jimmy John's. I asked if they were still open or if I was too late. All three employees smiled, and told me to come on in. Not once did they complain or make an ugly face at me. In fact they were singing and enjoying being at work. I've never had a problem with customer service at JJ but we had the unfortunate circumstances of being served by a gentleman with tattoos and glasses who flat out just treated us like shit on the bottom of his shoe. My friends were upset when leaving and so was I because of the way he treated us. Never have I been treated so poorly when giving my money to someone fulfilling a service.
