We ordered a large M&M (1/2 mushroom 1/2 meatball) to go last night and it was ready in 15 minutes. The pie was delicious. Just the right amount of toppings including a tasty sweet sauce, not too much cheese and a nice medium thin and bubbly crust. The two brothers make the pies right there at the pick up counter and are always working hard. A very pleasant staff ready to serve await their customers. Pizza is available at almost every corner so you have to be good to compete. I recommend Jimmy's to locals all the time. An added plus is that they are Johnson Building Band fans! read more

Do not have anything bad to report here! :D We arrived to a short wait...waitstaff were extremely friendly & kept my 3 & 4.5 yr/old busy while we waited...creative & funny! :] Dining room is small...probably 12-15 tables (mostly 4 tops)...but sat quickly...10 min @ 7:30 pm on Friday night but trust me...this is the locals spot for pizza...many behind us in line & willing to wait! Sat...ordered a pitcher of beer for $8...salad & ff for kids...all arrived quickly with a Lg. Worst pizza delivery ever. A cheesy mess stuck to the top of the box with two pieces of raw bacon on it. Gross. Never again. Will stick with Bella Napoli. I guess I should make it clear, Jimmy's doesn't deliver. We had Door Dash deliver our pizza and their customer service was 100% wonderful. They aren't responsible for this mess of a pizza with 2 pieces of raw bacon on it. Too bad Jimmy's doesn't care about the pizzas it's sends out. I have been to this restaurant twice in a week. I must say the pizza is AMAZING....and so is their tomato sauce. I am a person that has horrible acid reflux and heartburn...and out of all the Italian restaurants I've been to; their sauce hasn't bothered me one bit. Tonight...Mom and I both had dinners. She had the linguini and meatballs and I had the chicken parmigiana. Both dinners were plentiful and the sauce was heavenly. The other night (several days ago) we had pizza...we had meatball and sausage with extra sauce and it reminded me very much of Jerry's Shakespeare pizza in Stratford from years ago. Just a great tasting pie, perfect crust and tasty sauce. We had two of their soups. The pasta fagioli was good Mom and me agreed but a little too spicy for me. Tonight we had the chicken vegetable soup and it was AMAZINGLY TASTY!!!!!! Mom had a mug and I was greedy...I had their $8.00 dollar bowl...and let me tell you it was well worth the $8 dollars. You also get salads with their dinners and both salads were quite nice. Now as for the service....our waistress' name was Theresa and she was AMAZING too. On the ball, courteous and all I can say is A-1......THE BEST!!!!!! Jimmy's is lucky to have such a GREAT server. The pizza is solid. I tried the bacon mashed potato and liked it a lot. Low-key though... they have the best subs. Specifically their buffalo chicken and steak n cheese ones. They're also around 8 bucks each and they're big, like you can split one with someone. For the buffalo chicken I recommend to get lettuce and tomato and provolone cheese. For the steak my brothers got American cheese, mayo, hot sauce, and peppers and onions. Either way you can't go wrong with these subs. New haven style pizza is thin crust, not thick crust with sauce to the middle. There is a virus going around, don't give attitude when people ask simply "are you wearing gloves to protect your customers and prep your food". Worst pizza in Milford. I would eat at Bella Napoli before I ate here again. We went in at about 8 on a Sunday. The rudeness of the "waitstaff" (14 year old girls) a huge turn off. They didn't even ask once if our food was ok or if we needed a drink refill. Our food was slammed down on the table like they were in some type of rush. The pizza..well I've never been served raw bacon on a pizza before last night. So disgusting. Their sauce is also nasty. Tastes like prego from a jar. Also had a Caesar salad. Nothing special. It seems like there is no consistency in the pizza here. We ordered one pizza on a friday night. We asked for it to be a little well done. Generally the pizza is pretty good here. But this night it was pretty bad. The crust was half the pizza. The pie was way under cooked. I know these things happen but when you pay 20 bucks for a pizza you expect what you ordered especially at a place that gets so many great reviews and awards. Would not be my first choice again. Another good visit the pizza we ordered was great. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is do to the issues regarding sanitation. At one point a server dropped straws on the floor and picked them up and put them back on the counter. They should have discarded the straws. Another time a different server wiped down the seats of chairs and then proceeded to then wipe the table top down with the same paper towel. It should have been done in reverse order. We love pizza from Jimmy's. We order pizza here probably once a month or so and have turned several friends into Jimmy's fans as well. The pizza is always crisp and never soggy. The toppings are plentiful and evenly distributed. Our favorite (compromise) order is a hawaiian style bacon and pineapple pie with red sauce. It's sweet, salty and so yummy. The sauce is lovely, not heavy with spices or filler, just a nice tomato sauce, they probably make it themselves. The last time I picked up a pie, I asked where they procure their delicious sausage and I was told they make it. Sure enough, a gentleman was actually mixing meat and spices in the machine and I saw it being extruded. The place is simple, no fancy frills, but they serve great food and do it with smiles. We are fans and recommend it highly, more than any other pizza joint in the region. read more

This place has endeared itself to me and more than justified its getting bumped up to a full four. Firstly, in my initial review I was probably unjustly overlooking the fact that it is first and foremost a pizza place, and the pizza is damn good, and true to the New Haven "Apizza" style. Regular ("mozzarella" in local parlance) has always been excellent whether plain or piled with tons of toppings. Especially delicious is the white "Jimmys Special" with Bacon and fresh tomato. Never got around to trying the house rendition of the New Haven Classic White clam pie or any of the other seafood pies. While I still say that the place is perhaps not quite right on par with Sallys, original Frank Peppes, or (my newly discovered contender for best pizza in CT and perhaps the World) Zuppardi's, it is a very very good substitute, and a fantastic pizza choice when in the area. Plus, in one area it certainly rises above all of those legends, its beer selection, which consists of a nice variety of craft brews and goes way beyond the unfortunate limitations on all the menus at those places. The chill atmosphere, friendly staff and charmingly crusty owner all make the place feel as comfortable as a friends basement from your teenage years. Furthermore while I did say in my previous review that much of the non pizza offering were quite good, particularly the fantastic chicken parmesan, I dropped the rating down to 3 in large part due to the fact that the pasta served on an occasion that we had a huge party served at the restaurant was uniformly overcooked and as a result WAAAY beyond Al Dente. Looking back this may have been due to the fact that we threw the place off with our gigantic uber-family size order, and this may have been an unfortunate and unusual mistake that resulted. Again, all of the sauces were very tasty anyway. So please disregard my previous harsh review and definitely check out this great local pizza spot if you are ever lucky enough to spend anytime in this cool & down to earth city. read more

Over all a GREAT pie! Worth going out of your way for. A super casual place, draft beer and a good assortment of bottled beer. The Pizza: I had a Margarita style (I forget their name for it) pizza, but added sausage to 1/2 of it as it was said they make their own sausage. Excellent wonderfully cooked crust, wonderful sauce that complemented the pizza vs. over powering it. Only thing that that kept it from 5 stars is I wish they would have been a little more liberal with the fresh basil and the "home made" sausage was kind a meh.
