    Dilly pizza special regular crust

Gotten pizza here a few times mostly to go but this was the first time I've eaten inside. It was a Saturday night and surprisingly not too crazy inside which was nice. They have probably one of the best gluten free pizza crusts that I've ever had. The flavor is great and not too filling. I will definitely continue coming here!

If you're looking for great pizza and don't want to drive to New Haven, or you're just a Beatles lover, look to Jimmy's Apizza! The eggplant was awesome and crust was great. Jimmys has a hometown feel with clearly regular patrons. The walls are embellished with Beatles decor. We loved our pizza and would definitely go back to try their dinner entrees.

Jimmy's Apizza order from last night in Milford CT. 7-11-20 Too burnt to eat.

We support restaurants during this difficult time of social distancing. We've been steady Jimmy's Apizza customers for 10 years. But, seriously! The last three out of four take-out orders have been so burnt on the crust underside that the pizza needed to be thrown out. It just wasn't edible. "Buyer beware!" doesn't mean that while picking up a molten pizza, a customer needs to hazard burnt fingers to check the inside of the pie to check if it's solid black carbon. We expect more from Connecticut pizza parlors. Clean your ovens, Jimmy's Apizza! This is just lazy, wasteful business practice.

Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA). Delicious pizza with craft beer is always an excellent pairing! I had a really nice experience at 8 Thousand Pizza and I hope to return with my family.

Paying by the ounce. Service was nice and attentive. But you have to go up to the counter to order. Many of the betas were out or empty. I did like that. They had a wide selection of glasses available for the different styles of beer.

Before ordering, we informed our waitress that a member of our party has a severe shellfish allergy, including all shellfish and anchovies. Since she was new, I took extra time to clarify the allergy and discuss safe menu options. We determined that I could not order anything fried, including chicken cutlets, because the fryer is shared with shellfish items such as calamari and shrimp. Unfortunately, this is a challenge we often face when dining out. Given the limited options available, I ordered the ravioli with Sunday sauce. However, I became very sick that night. While I cannot say with certainty what happened, I suspect there may have been some form of cross-contamination in the kitchen, whether from gloves, utensils, or food handling procedures. What made the experience even worse was the interaction with the manager, Cindy. I found her to be rude, dismissive, and lacking the customer service skills expected in a hospitality setting. Rather than showing concern for a guest with a serious food allergy, her attitude left us feeling unwelcome and unvalued. Based on conversations with others, this behavior unfortunately does not seem to be an isolated incident. Between the apparent lack of allergy safeguards and the poor customer service we experienced, this visit has left us questioning whether we will return. Food allergies are not preferences; they are serious medical concerns that require careful attention and respect.
