Jin Ju Korean BBQ was seriously delicious. From the outside, it looks like a pretty standard Korean BBQ spot in Koreatown, but the food was much better than I expected. We only ordered two servings of pork galbi, but the portion was very generous, and the banchan came out nicely as well. The inside is not fancy or trendy, but it was clean and had that familiar classic K-town Korean BBQ restaurant feel. The pork galbi was exactly what I wanted. It was just the right amount of sweet and savory, making it perfect both as a drinking food and with a bowl of rice. The meat was also nicely thick, so it felt very satisfying. The service was also excellent. I did not get the name of the lady who helped grill our meat, but she was incredibly kind and attentive. Food was delicious and amazing! It was a big pricey compared to the quantity you get but the taste is good. We came all the way from the OC to try it since my husband said he heard the place was good. Staff was a nice guy and helped us cook it. He came back every so often to make sure it didn't burn. Tonight we had a family dinner at Jinju Galbi. I had been here once a few years ago and remembered the food was delicious and the service was friendly, so we decided to come back. Our server, Kay, was absolutely amazing and made the entire experience so enjoyable. I love dipping my meat in sesame oil, and even though I didn't ask, she noticed and kindly brought some over on her own. She was incredibly attentive and thoughtful--truly top-notch service. We went to Jinju Korean BBQ for pork galbi and pork belly. I can't really say which one is my favorite because they are neck and neck we wouldn't which is better. They are both so good and this place has really good quality meat with very compelling price too. I feel always satisfied after have a meal here. Our server Kay were very much attentive and so fast. The eel was next-level. One of the staff grilled it for us right at the table, and it came out perfectly crispy on the outside and buttery tender inside. Not even a hint of fishiness -- just clean, rich flavor. The thick-cut pork belly was juicy and full of flavor. Also grilled at the table, and you could tell the quality of the meat was solid. As for the pork ribs -- I know other places in K-town are more "famous" for them, but honestly, Jin Ju deserves just as much hype. Deliciously marinated, definitely worth trying. Oh -- and the steamed egg. We're both really picky when it comes to steamed egg, but this one was perfect. Fluffy, clean, no weird aftertaste. Easily one of the best we've had in K-town. ‍ The staff was great -- really friendly and attentive. They made the whole meal feel even more special, which meant a lot since it was a birthday dinner. Small tip: they offer a 4% discount if you pay with cash. The closest ATM isn't super close, so bring some cash ahead of time if you can. A couple of us went to this lovely little spot after a day of rehearsals and I'm so glad we did. Our lady was SO nice, she explained everything and cooked the meats so well and was so attentive when we asked questions. The food was delicious and the Galbi was marinated to perfection and melted in your mouth. She also gave us a free bottle of soju and delicious rice and bean soup which was SO YUMMY! Jin Ju is located in a sketchy area of East LA on the outskirts of Koreatown. The establishment has a small valet parking lot and most diners are locals as who would go there right? The meat quality is very good and the helpful staff cook the meats for you - regularly flipping and cutting the meat for you into bite size pieces. They' even trim the burnt carcinogenic end pieces away for you to eat. We had the Beef Brisket, Seafood Pancake, and Marinated Pork Ribs. Our favorite was the Brisket, then Pork Ribs (a little dry but tasty - suggest Pork Belly) and the Seafood Pancake (expensive and not enough seafood but plenty of green onions). The meal comes with Banchan, Steamed Egg Custard, and Salad. No rice paper though. Service excellent however we'll probably try other KBBQ places before going back. read more

Have been to this location twice, and have been blown away both times. The service is impeccable--everyone there is friendly, kind, and extremely attentive. They cook meats for you, refill banchan (side dishes) whenever you ask, and even cut off the charred parts of the meat that sit on the grill too long. The food is delicious! The marinated pork ribs are to die for and the brisket is great quality and well marbled. Both times I have been there they have included complimentary steamed egg, and this most recent time we were treated to soybean stew. So good!! The restaurant is clean and bright, with many options for drinks, including water, barley tea, beer, soju and korean wines, all at reasonable prices. After the nurse john show at the wilshire ebell theatre we were looking for a Korean bbq restaurant nearby and found jin ju. The area at night was a lil isolated and .maybe.. scary . My sister had told me they had pretty good marinated pork ribs - soy sauce marinated style ribs. I personally like thick pork belly vs. thin ones and if you like me, you will like their pork belly. My two kids really loved them. Then we had the marinated pork ribs which I was looking forward to. They're more like the soy sauce marinated ribs you would see in Korea vs. spicy ones you see in K-town. We ended up ordering another order. I will say their ribs are not as sweet as Ham Ji Park ribs. If you like more flavorful marinated ribs, you may prefer Ham Ji Park, but once you try their ribs, I think you'll have days where you will crave for Jin Ju ribs and other days for Ham Ji Park ribs. I came in to Jin Ju on the evening of Aug 10th with 5 of my bestest friends. We were really hungry and didn't know what to order. Our server was very informative and helped guide us through their menu. We ordered Beef Brisket, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, and the pork short rib. Plenty of side dishes filled Our table in the beginning. Then the brisket came, it was perfectly rolled and round. Our server began filling up the grill. At first our table was confused and didn't know what to do but our wonderful server helped us and cook the brisket for us. Shortly after the beef bulgogi came out. At this point I was in nirvana and perfectly satisfied. Then the pork bulgogi came to the table. At this point I was able to feel my breath slowing and my heart pounding. We ended with the short rib. Sweet, tender and soft short rib. WOW! I thought I was full but hit a second wave because the short rib was oh so fire! If I was a selfish POS I'd give them like a 3.5 rating with "meh" type review... just to keep you all away from it lmao. Real talk, it's my go-to KBBQ spot for the simple fact they don't overthink or overdo anything. It's not the cheapest nor the priciest but (from my untrained yet been around long enough to appreciate) their quality of meat is fantastic. The marinated short ribs/Galbi is my favorite but you really cannot go wrong across the board in terms of meats. That said, the star of the show for me aside from the Galbi (and fresh banchan, not to mention standard for KBBQ but delicious nonetheless salad- a MUST if you're eating the Galbi imo, the flavors merge so incredibly well) was the SOY SAUCE CRAB AND SPICY CRAB. I don't know which I like better, or if they still offer both even as it's been a while since I've been there. Came back based off of our previous 5 star experience... this time it was fairly disappointing. They got busier and now they compromised the service and quality. To get a quicker turnover the meats are now precooked and just left to warm up on the grill in front of you. Service is present but constant requests... no water refills, no bonchon refills. Some orders were also not fulfilled. . Since it got busier air quality is poor with poor circulation ventilation. I don't foresee myself coming back for a third visit. read more
