Stellar service for a tiny kbbq joint that specializes in intestines. Air flow isn't great in here, but we luckily sat right by the door so I came out smelling fresh. What I like about their style here is that they'll cook the super splattery stuff on the side next to you because tables are tiny. That's pretty courteous of them to not want customers to get oil burns. The steak and intestines were great, but I'd pass on any chicken items next time. They give you as much banchan and salad as you want, and there are plenty of dipping sauces. There are also a thousand TVs all around for Dodgers games (blech). Prices are $$$ and parking is non-existent so go for the valet ($5).

Amazing star combo, the beef intestines are crispy, juicy, tender, and delicious! I didn't even want the rice, lol

We came here on Valentine's Day as a party of 7 and quickly realized why there was no wait while every other Korean BBQ had over an hour line. We ordered the $79 Big Bang Combo, and the portions were shockingly small with low-quality meat. We also got the army stew and kimchi pancake -- everything tasted below average. Service was terrible. The server overcooked and burnt our meat, forgot our water refill four times, and had a rude attitude. Worst of all, she used the same tongs for raw meat and then to serve our army stew. When we pointed out the cross-contamination, she acted like it wasn't a big deal. Overall, bad food, small portions, and unacceptable service. Definitely not recommended.

Made the mistake of ordering the Comet and Big Bang combos. I know the Gobchang is the specialty but I was with people who weren't feeling that choice sadly. So both of these combos were pork, chicken, and beef. Pork was not the business. Very dry, and the fat didn't render properly. Same with the chicken as the connective tissue was just too tough to get through by a certain point. Our server was hit or miss. Super nice and helpful but I just was in a picky mood. She gave me some pork belly that was half burnt and half untouched like pls I just want a little crisp here lol. Beef was the strongest and was nicely marinated. The Beef rib though was also very fatty with globules rippled within the meat. The soups were both exceptional and the banchan was tasty! But the meat should shine. Definitely willing to come back for the Gobchang.

Seriously one of my favorite hidden spots in KTown inside a very busy strip mall next to Nadarang!!! If you know you know.....Can you say RibEye CAP!!! Oh yeah!! And they even do eel and intestines if you like!!! Banchan, soups and stews are also an absolute must!!! I especially love the staff and owners!!! Absolutely welcoming and so friendly!!! FYI ask for ICED soju!!!!

OMG! Where to begin! This was my first time ordering food for take out and wow was I surprised. Not only were the food packaged well, but they provided a generous amount of side dishes. The lunch Yuk gae jang was extremely flavorful and the quality of the meat was superb. The infamous gobchang also lived up to its name! I was afraid the portion and texture would be different but it was quite the opposite. They cooked the meat to perfection and it was just as crispy as when I dined in. To top it off, they provided a large container of their famous garlic dipping sauce! Good Korean fresh water eel is difficult to find in LA. There are a few places that sell them but it doesn't taste as good as Byul gob chang. The reason for it is the way they grill the eel. Korean fresh water eel needs to be grilled in a certain temperature to keep the moisture in and crispy on the outside without burning it. Everytime I dine here, the eel is cooked perfectly. And to no surprise, my togo eel was as tasty as always. They provided a big portion of all the side dishes necessary to accompany the eel (garlic, jalapenos, ginger, perilla leaves and the dipping sauce). This place is truly a hidden gem in k-town. The aunties there are always so polite and friendly. It also has a cool-old fashioned vibe which is hard to find nowadays. I highly recommend Byul gobchang!!

Ambiance: it's a traditional style Korean bbq place, right next to one of the most popular ayce kbbq restaurants Service: super friendly and attentively, they will cook the meat for you Food: combo has the best value and the portion is good for 2~3 people Banchan - **** very well prepared, egg rolls, glass noodles, seaweed, kimchi, fish cake, bean sprouts, fresh salad, and cold buckwheat jelly soup, recommend Beef Brisket - **** chewy meat, recommend Prime Ribeye Steak - **** juicy meat, recommend Beef Bulgogi - *** sweet taste Chicken Bulgogi - *** sweet taste Kimchi Stew - **** tofu, onions, rice cake slices, recommend Price: premium quality and reasonable prices, about $50 per person for a fulfilling meal

    Byul combo - the best!!!

Highlights: Ribeye cap, Byul combo This restaurant has been my go-to spot for the past decade, where I make sure to visit at least once a month. Not only is the quality of the meat exceptional, but they also serve the best gopchang and daechang. Here I always start my meal with the ribeye cap, which melt in your mouth. Following that with gopchang and daechang paired with soju makes for an unbeatable combination. To finish off, their yangbap and gochujang jjigae complete the perfect Korean soul food dining experience. The aunties who have been working there for the past ten years are incredibly warm and nice and make the place feel like home. Highly recommend!

I got just 2 main dishes. And those're really tasty and gravy! Even sides are really good. Music/Services great. nothing more or less. I and my family felt comfortable there. Recommand? Yes! If you are curious about the special taste of Korean people. :)

Came here for dinner, we got seated immediately but a wait line started right after we came in. It was a full house w/ maybe 3 servers so service wasn't the greatest but the food did not miss! Everything was so delicious~ Music was a little loud & after a couple drinks, we could barely hear each other during conversation. But the quality of the food made up for it

    Phillip V.

The vibes were typical mom and shop type store. Not too big yet not too small. Food was alright we got the large intestine which I thought was way too fatty with the gunk inside of it. Everything else was good meat wise but now I come to the service. It's cool they cook for you and all but my party tipped a good amount like 15% and the lady's did complain that we tipped too little. That did catch me off guard.

We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

Every Filipino swears their food is better at home and I'm sure it may be, but we need to appreciate places like this that put our cuisine out there and make it this good! I never thought to eat bibinka with savory foods because it's normally a dessert to me, but it is definitely the icing! All the meats were definitely tasty, but the star that made these proteins pop was the vinegar! My youngest said that's just me being Filipino because he said it didn't need the vinegar, but trust me... make sure to use that vinegar. I can probably drink the vinegar because it's that good! The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful cultured decoration that remind you of the homeland. Such a nice option when you want something a little different without going across town. We ordered the coconut beef adobo, pork ribs, and the cornbread bibingka. The coconut beef adobo was definitely the standout for me. It kind of reminded me of Bicol express with a slight tanginess. Super flavorful and really good with steamed rice. The pork ribs were not your typical saucy, sweet, fall off the bone type. These were more dry style with a bark that can be a little tough, but the meat itself was still juicy underneath. The cornbread bibingka was also really good. It felt like the perfect mix of classic cornbread and bibingka, slightly sweet and soft, and the sugar on top was a nice touch. Portions were solid too. My husband and I had enough leftovers for the next day. Overall, really glad we finally got to try it, and we would definitely love to try more of their dishes someday.

Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.
