Just finished my galbi bi bim bop in a hot piping stone bowl and it was fabulous! Just a great place and super friendly too! Yay

The owner was so nice, she told us she has run this restaurant since more than 20 years ago and is also the chef of the restaurant. The Galbi jjim is a must get. The soondubu was also delicious.

Jiggaes that warm your whole being. This family place really feels like coming home. Good banchan spread, purple rice with bite, unassuming neighborhood fixture.

    The best Galbi jim .........!!!!!

Best Galbi Jim in all of LA! As an LA native born and raised and an frequent Travellers to Korea. I can without a doubt say that this is definately the best Galbi Jim in Los Angeles and perhaps worldwide. If your over the hype of Sun Nong dang and want authentic home cooked style Galbi Jim then this is definately the spot to come to

    Galbi Jjim

Seong Bul Dong have very good food, Galbi Jjim is tasty, very good service, very good environment.

Casual Korean mom n pop shop with doenjang-jjigae. Was craving for some Korean soybean paste soup and noticed most of the time I've had that as a side with Korean bbq. Yelped around and found that this place had it. Was a casual place - there is valet parking in the strip mall but opted for street parking. Ordered the combo with bulgogi. Soup hit the spot and so did the bulgogi. Wouldn't mind coming back!

Seong Buk Dong is a casual smaller low-key Korean restaurant. I came here with one other person before the Dodger game. It was both our first time. We both shared their octopus bibimbap and the Kimchi Jjigae. The octopus bibimbap was my preferred dish over the kimchi jjigae. It also had a lot of octopus in it, however, it was very chewy and kinda overcooked. Like the bibimbap the kimchi jjigae stew came out in a hot stone pot. It was super sour and more sour than other kimchi jjigae I had anywhere else. It was served with a small bowl of rice. Both dishes did have a lot of flavor though. Service was extremely slow. It took awhile for them to take our order and to bring out the sides. Our food took a long time to come out. And they didn't really check on us. We had to call them over. Honestly we probably will not be back. There's just other options in the area. oh and we saw one of the valet guys break the side view mirror on one of the cars so I take that as a sign.

Came here for dinner with friends and I'm so glad to have been introduced to this restaurant. This was fantastic Korean home style cooking, through and through. You must try their galbi jim! The meat is so tender and flavorful and the entire dish is simply so satisfying. Highly recommend it! Ideally you come with at least a group of 4 so you can order several dishes to share. Their seafood pancake is also excellent and the quality of the banchan is top notch! They will happily offer banchan refills as well! I can't wait to go back!

Perfect spot for a rainy day! They offer a great variety of Korean dishes, and the dolsot bibimbap is amazing--the rice comes out perfectly crispy and full of flavor. All the side dishes were delicious, and the service was consistently friendly. Highly recommend!

Bibimbap is way better eaten in the restaurant in a hot stone but for taking it to go, it' was very yummy. Sides were also delicious. It was packaged well too.

3rd time here (years gap) and still lovin' it! The seafood pancake is our favorite but everything else is also fresh and spot on. Service is fast and servers are very attentive. The place looks run down from the outside but inside is clean and organized.

On the other hand, there's valet parking for Anju customers by the restaurant, charging cash $6 or card payment of $7. Or if you dare or are lucky, street parking is not impossible. We arrived on a Saturday night at 7pm and the wait was light. Within 15 minutes we were seated. While waiting, there's a comfy lounge with big TV for guests to lounge. Led inside, we passed a photo booth machine, and with an outdoor beer garden ambiance, we were led to our seats. It's totally outdoor, no interior seating. They have a heat lamp for the night. There are big screens, great for the FIFA watching season. The lady's restroom is well decorated. You scan the code on the table to read the menu, under dim light. I LOVE THE MENU!! So many choices! From fusion such as kimchi and bacon pasta to traditional dishes such as seafood pancake and ramen, from grilled items like butter grilled squid to soup items like fish cake stew, they have it all! The Korean alcoholic drinks include soju, flavored soju, 4-5 kinds of Korean beer, and the Makgeolli rice wine. The prices are reasonable for the portions; most big items are 20 or slightly higher. We ordered Creamy Kimchi Bacon Pasta, Butter Grilled Squid, Korean Omelet and Bulgogi Dukboki. They all tasted delicious and the portions are an overkill. For three of us, we barely finished half. Service was like the Korean style, they appear to take orders, deliver food, and disappear. They did give us a new bottle of water. But they disappear until you call them for the check. The waiter was pleasant when picking up payment and engaged in a small talk. This is definitely a place for large crowds. By about 8:30pm, the wait lounge was filled. So I think the later it goes, the more crowd they get.

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
