Chill, homey and GREAT coffee. I came here in between meetings and what a great spot I picked. As soon as you walk in, it's an extended living room/kitchen/ bar feel. (You'll know what I mean when you get in) There are tables, bar area and couches set up so you feel at home. There's also outdoor seating too. I ordered a whole milk latte and added an extra shot. The baristas were so friendly- nothing fake though. I definitely want to try the food here because the people nearby were trying something that smelled delicious. The parking was a little hard but hey, totally worth it to come here! I will be stopping by again :) read more

Local here. First time customer. Asked for a Mexican Mocha, the barista said he could make it happen. He took my order, hot, with oat milk, and HALF SWEET. When I got to work and took the first sip it was like I had just drank out of a bag of sugar , couldn't even taste the espresso AT ALL. I was super disappointed, the name of the cafe is "Jitters", I know it's been in the O for a loooong time AND I paid $20 for my order of a latte and a couple of pastries. I ended up throwing the latte away cause it was literally hurting my taste pallets. The two stars are for the pastries. read more

Came here twice on a vacation with my family. I prefer to support small businesses over big coffee chains. First, the COFFEE IS SO GOOD. The barista def knows what he's doing. The scones are also delicious! The lady that took our order was very nice and answered all my questions. The only negative which was reason for 4 star is I was in a hurry to get on the road back home and it took 42 minutes to get my yogurt and granola which was ridiculous; however if I was in town again I'll def grab a latte and a quick baked good again. read more

I have been going to Jitters since I was in high school (that was over 10 years ago!) and they have only gotten better with age. I have loved bringing my children here to share in my nostalgic memories. We have recently moved out of town and I will miss my beloved Jitters. I hope to stop in again some day soon. A Great Cappuccino! I love coffee. Born and raised in Seattle I predate Starbucks and love finding the local shops like Jitters that have resisted being sucked into the Borg. I or de red a Cappuccino and it was made perfectly. Right foam, right ratios, and the roast and flavor of the coffee was smooth, complex, and balanced as it should. As a bonus, the staff there are friendly and kind. We stopped as a quick recharge on our way south. Will definitely stop again. read more

I stopped by this coffee shop because I was in the area for work and I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is the cute coffee shop of your dreams and prices are very affordable. I got a medium hot coffee and a croissant and my total was $5. On top of that this is some of the best bean juice I've had not to mention they hand bake their pastries every morning unlike Starbucks who buys them frozen and just heats them up. 10/10 u should go here read more

Oh my how have the coffee gods descended from above and gifted us with this elixir. I truly am a coffee nut who truly appreciates an amazing cup. Well I shouldn't say "nut", let me be politically correct about this, I am a coffee aficionado. Clayton and crew of baristas at Jitters will make sure that first cup is the perfect cup. Myself I am a Hammerhead type of guy with 2 shots of espresso. Basically this is the cup of all cups is the true definition of the word "Jitters" . After I have consumed a half a cup I feel so anxious, I feel like I can run a marathon without breaking a sweat. That my friends is where you know you're awake and ready to take on the world. Jitters menu is impressive with the different ways and flavors you can enjoy a cup of coffee, or tea. Lets not forget about their chai tea and smoothies that are also on point. What more can you ask for? Oh wait I have a little more for you. Another plus is their breakfast options or that display of treats one can indulge in. Variety is a choice of life is what I like say, so please go inside take in their unique decor, and enjoy a cup, or a bite. You can even do both if you want, no pressure. read more

This place is cute and has some good strong coffee. I love the funky music and the gritty decor. The staff gets along very well it seems and there was some banter back and forth. I did wait a solid twenty minutes for a latte, on a day I didn't have to wait an hour for meeting this would have been a big issue for me and I would have had to leave. I'm not sure if this was normal, but it was vexating. The coffee is good and there is quite a bit of seating. The locating is a few blocks from the coast and a five to ten minute walk to the pier. They mostly serve pastries, so I have zero options for food hear. I've actually been here a handful of times since my original review, and waiting 10+ minutes for a drink is the norm here, so if you're in a rush I'd avoid this place. If you're hanging out it's good local coffee. read more

Okay, I don't know anything about 2020 changes, but I will say this place holds a special place in my heart. Our little family has visited this spot the past 5 Years on our annual vacation and it never ever misses the mark for us. Location right on PCH is great, so are their hours, open early and a perfect stop before we hit the road. Service was great, super friendly, and my mocha was perfect. Large, strong, chocolaty, a perfect combo. Prices are fair and I love that they offer larger size drinks as well. Location itself a bit dated, more like in someone's old living room and they can get pretty busy. Still, well worth a stop for a caffeine fix while in the area, always great to support a local business and they work hard here and deserve it! read more

Ok so this is not my first review of Jitters and it will most likely NOT be my last but wanted to update. So I started going here a few months ago because I heard they had a great vegan breakfast sandwich which they do. I usually get a matcha which they make perfectly every time. The matcha is quality! Now they have a new menu which consist of this incredibly addicting breakfast burrito AGAIN vegan and you can even get it with a gluten free wrap. I also pick up meals from One Kitchen Collaborative which are AMAZING. Today I decided to try the coffee which I hadn't yet and that led me to CALL Jitters and tell Clayton this was the best cup I have ever had. The staff is amazing and you become family to them as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I don't think they will let me live there but if they would allow it I would be tempted. We use to live just blocks away from this awesome coffee shop, we LOVE the drinks here, consistently yummy! I love meeting my girlfriends here, when they come down from the OC. Although now we live about 25 miles away, we still make a point of visiting at least once a month. The drinks are just too good! Love it! read more

Yummmmmyyyyyy!! This coffee is good! Strong and brewed correctly it's our new go to spot for the brown brew. They also have kombutcha on tap. Clayton was who served us our oat bar and coffees and to say he was nice is an understatement. He came out and chatted with us for quite some time. Quite a knowledgeable and intelligent person. If you want a good cup of coffee go talk to Clayton and have him serve you up some brew:) read more

Great place for perfect coffee and yummy breakfast! Really laid back and cool vibe. My husband said he felt like we were in Portland. I tried the white lighting coffee half sweet with coconut milk and it was perfection. The avocado toast was the best I've had! It looks like a salad with so much greens and tomato and adding an egg is an absolute must! My hubby enjoyed his caramel macchiato and breakfast sandwich (which is two sandwiches btw, at least with an English muffin it was). They are dog friendly which is cool if you have one with you. I would definitely come back! read more

This is my go-to coffee shop when in Oceanside, although I see there are some interesting other competitors! When I walk in, I think of Louis CK's joke about a dude making his coffee, because his place is that cool. It has a weird eclectic ambiance. It's a salmony pink-orange inside, with mosaics, local artists artwork, plants, mismatch furniture...it looks like the inside of a gypsy's house, I just love it. They happen to serve one of the best damn white mochas of my life. That's all I order when I go, and then I'm sad when it's gone. This time I got the pleasure of introducing my daughter to this awesome place and she loved it, and the white mocha; she got her own! They do offer an assortment of "different" snacks and beverages-I wish I could comment on them, but I am always in and out with above said beverage. One day I will try other things :) read more

I love that this place is locally owned, weird and homey. The people that run it are very nice, not pretentious and will get your order correct. They offer some homemade baked goods like scones and muffins. I enjoy the living room feel to this place. They offer casual, eclectic indoor seating (chairs of all varieties and a couch) and garden-style 2-chair tables outside. The iced coffee I had here was good. I wasn't sure if the beans were over-roasted, but there was a slight burnt after-taste. Maybe the coffee was old? Bonus about the iced coffee? They use coffee-cubes!! No ice cubes to water down your beverage! AWESOME! I had the Avocado Toast with an over-easy egg on top and it was dee-licious! It was $7. No bad for breakfast. I can't wait to go back and start making this place my local coffee joint! read more

This is a very confusing coffee shop. You are met at the door by a table with no menu, no prices and wrapped in plastic pastries. There were people inside but we weren't sure if they had to pass the gauntlet to get inside! Coffee weak, latte super sweet without flavor. In Carlsbad for work and found via yelp. Opened at 6, doesn't serve real food until 8am on Saturday mornings, not sure of other days. They did have a few pastries and bagels in a case. The service was great, the place is super neat. They have a very neat building, tons of books and a comfy couch. They played some more eclectic music but it wasn't too loud so no issues. I don't think I'll make it back but I'd say if you want a small town coffee shop with good service this could be your stop! read more

Very quaint coffee House! Most interesting attribute was the ice cubes in my iced coffee! I've never had coffee ice cubes but what a brilliant idea! They melt and the coffee gets stronger! Always drove by this place heading to work so decided to give this place a try. I got the vegetarian breakfast sandwich and it was hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had! Coming from someone who eats meat more than someone should, the vegetarian sausage was far better than any sausage I've eaten! This place might be the reason I slow down on eating red meat. Lol Also, decided to try their white-lightning coffee! Highly recommend it! Besides the food, the customer service was amazing! White lightening coffee drink & the savory danish totally rock my Saturday mornings!! Only minus is that dogs come inside the cafe & staff plays with them... makes me wonder about pet hair/dander in my food... but everyone seems to appreciate the pet love there. It's beautiful inside and there's tons of seating with even more outside. Quiet music. Many outlets available for customers. Highly recommend for studying. I found the service to be friendly as well. However I really did not enjoy the coffee as it was extremely watery. Unfortunately it was more expensive than a fancier latte I had from Camp Coffee that same day. I would come back and try some of the food just to be able to enjoy the space but likely won't get coffee again

The beverage's subtle sweetness came from the vanilla bean syrup. Both the vanilla flavor and sweetness was very limited in a helpful way. It allowed the espresso and oat milk flavor to stand out, which made the coffee drink enjoyable to drink. They put just the right amount of ice and the drink was refreshing. Oh yes, I also had a zucchini walnut loaf with the iced espresso and it was very good. I do recommend it. Both actually. The hospitality was good. It was not as upbeat as the last Better Buzz visit in Imperial Beach, but good enough. The service was very good. They had my order ready even before I sat down at a table. I was like, "let me chill a moment," which was a joke of course.
