I went here around 6PM on a Thursday, and we were the first ones here. The employees were nice and the music selection was great. It is a mixture of all genres. The inside is kind of small, but decorated with cute lights all around the ceiling. The prices are great for what you get. They have happy hour, on certain food items and drinks. Everything we ate was delicious! We had the green apple frozen beer, soju, pork belly with green onions, kimchi pancake, corn cheese, spicy chicken, dumplings, and spicy rice cake. The parking is a bit challenging - they have their own lot but there are other businesses that occupy the spaces as well. And street parking... good luck! One of my favorite pochas in ktown to visit during the weekends. Jjan is super hip, trendy and ultimately has very good food/alcohol drinks that you can indulge in. They usually have a sign up sheet at the door that you have to check in first in order to get a table. For a group of 4, we only had to wait 20 minutes around 8pm on a Friday night. They also have outdoor seating for when it gets busy busy. Frozen cider beer is absolutely a must try on your next visit! This gastropub is one of my favorites. The atmosphere when you enter is a laid back bar. The music is upbeat but not in your face. They play mostly korean music but also some top 100. The staff are very welcoming, and it is easy to call for them, since they have a bell that brings the wait staff to your table. I find it quite efficient. But JJAN is not known only for being a bar. Their food is what sets this place apart from the rest. Their rose tteokbokki is by far the best item on the menu. It's creamy, sweet and tickles of spicy towards the end. It gives a cheesy consistency without the cheesy feel. Eating it makes me feel like I'm in a warm bed on a cold night, nice and cozy. I could eat this again and again. I also had the claypot spicy chicken stew. That was good but not as enjoyable. The chicken was overcooked, and the stew was spicy and hot, overwhelming your palate with its spice. It is great for the sinuses while hot. However once the soup cools, the sauce is very sweet, and it bursts with flavor. Very interesting and divisive food when hot and cold. I brought my friend here, and as you can tell from the photos, we couldn't finish. The meal is on the pricier side, but if you think of a meal as two, it is well worth the money. read more

The steamed egg was mad well and fluffy The corn cheese was well balanced and didn't taste overly like mayo The Tteokbokki was one of my favorites! The sauce was really well made and had a lot of depth. Other places taste only of gochujang and corn starch, but this had umph to it. We added ramen and cheese to ours. The kimchi pancake was also well made. It was good on its own, but I wish we had dipping sauce for it. The cheese bath spicy chicken was also one of my favorite dishes here as well. We kept dipping the other foods into this sauce after we finished eating the chicken. The fried chicken here was extremely disappointing. It was very very dry and barely had flavor. We were expecting a soy glazed type of chicken, but it's just standard fried chicken - worse than popeyes and the coating didn't adhere and just fell off. The clam soup was very good! Coming out, it looked like clams in water, but there is so much depth in the soup while maintaining a clear broth. The clams were tough, but the soup was very nourishing.
