Be sure to call ahead, it usually takes ~30 min per order if you call. Takeout only. Service is very polite. Parking is tough because of the area but there are a few spots out front, would generally recommend calling ahead so parking is less stressful. Their menu was a little confusing to me so here is some explanation: K pop chicken- boneless chicken pieces K chicken wings- flats and drumettes (the two parts of a larger chicken wing) K chicken tenders- boneless tenders only K crispy chicken- full wings, thighs, and breast pieces They offer each of these items as a plate lunch too, with a smaller portion of chicken that comes with rice and salad. I personally like the K chicken wings for the variety and higher meat to skin ratio but my husband really likes the K chicken wings. The skin is shatteringly crispy and flavorful and the meat is juicy. Their honey shoyu sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and salty. You can also request the sauce on the side. I've also had the fried rice which was decent and generously portioned. We once had a complimentary house salad given to us which was unexpected kindness. Overall they do a great job serving up a delicious craveable food that keeps us coming back!

I heard that they're closed for summer break, but I also heard that they're close permanently. Regardless, if you place an order on an app, good luck getting that refund! It took me over an hour chatting with different Uber Eats customer service, escalating the issue, and I finally received the refund days later because I refused to let it go. The food itself was just okay, but my husband was a fan. I didn't think the fried chicken was anything remarkable. If you want decent Korean fried chicken, go the little spot inside Paloma food court.

Although the prices have gone up, and the plates have gotten a wee-bit smaller......and when I say "smaller", I mean from ridiculous, to only massive now. Lol! True, KJ's Local GRINDZ does do other items, but Frrrrrrried Chicken is my crack, and every time I come here thinking I will try something else, once I open my mouth & speak, some how only "Frrrrrrried Chicken plate", only comes out of my mouth. Lol! Anyways, KJ's has been around for a long time in the Kaneohe neighborhood. It's your typical local style eatery serving local style plate lunches. Looking at the menu on the picture window...I had to wonder is Uncle: Korean...African-American...Deep South gentleman? Well, I think he's Taiwanese. Menu revolves around chicken. They have plates, sandwiches, and slushies. I got the Taro Hokkaido Slushie for takeout. It was okay...I can't tell you what it tastes like...other than that it was sweet. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was unassuming. It was slightly spiced...a bit different than I am used to and it had a bit of a kick. I would not order anything spicy from their menu. Piece of battered chicken breast that was both juicy and flavorful. A real surprise. Service was just under 15 minutes...I walked in and ordered takeout. There was one order ahead of me. I uploaded this picture into chat gpt with the business explanation of the pinking in poultry and according to AI, "Pinking" can happen in cooked poultry -- but what you're showing in the photo does not look like harmless pinking. Here's the difference in plain language: Harmless "pinking" (still fully cooked) * Happens from smoking, high heat, or certain proteins. * The meat is fully opaque, firm, and cooked through. * Only the outer edge or near the bone looks pinkish. What your picture shows * The meat looks translucent, soft, and raw, especially near the joint. * There are dark, bloodlike areas around the bone. * The texture looks undercooked, not just color-changed from chemical reactions. Even with pinking, cooked chicken never looks glossy or raw in the center the way yours does. I decided not to go back to the counter because there was a language barrier and I felt the woman wasn't listening to me in the first place anyway. Threw pretty much all the food away and left hungry and down $20.

Koala Moa is located in Kalihi now, I remember they use to be on Nimitz when I visited Koala for the very first time, I remember seeing the chicken being cooked when I pass Nimitz, they cook the chix right next to the shop. They do sell out, depending how busy they get- best to call in to reserve, happen to me few times when they ran out of chicken, guess me going late in the afternoon is not a good idea. You can get the chicken, ribs, in a mini, combo, jumbo, or regular plate or as a side, either way you choose it all comes out the same. Depends on what type and amount of proteins you like. The sides are corn, salad, white or brown rice, and mac salads. Other ban chan available for purchase. The best value is the double combo plate, which comes with 1/2 chicken, 1 lb ribs and 5 sides for 35.99. - just cook your own pot of rice and get all sides of mac salad and salad. My favorite are the chicken and ribs combo, I must request to get the well done chicken ( burnt) note, * the chicken comes in whole, you have to request to chop up to pieces for $1. The chicken is hot, fresh, moist and has the right flavor and smoke. The ribs are my favorite, its tender and love the lemongrass flavor ( I just need a good fish sauce & cucumber salad when I eat this ribs) The salads are my favorites too, I love the dressing! Very tasty! When I am nearby Kalihi and want Huli Huli rotisserie style chicken this is a must stop for me and the lemon grass ribs will be a bonus. hehe. Placed my order then given a number and my cup pre filled with ice which took the moment to fill with either soft drinks or Cane's Iced Tea which is what I did just unsweetened was good and took a seat at one of many is what I do like about Raising Cane's and the decor and vibe is very friendly and vibrant as I got instantly greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Everything was very nice and fresh, fries were hot and crispy nothing really negative to say...just that it was boring for me personally and yes the order came rather fast making me think it was already made and kept warm didn't bother me the choices was very minimal and no other added flavors like hot and spicy or sauce options during this hot summer was made even on this National Fried Chicken Day.

The chicken skin had a nice crunch to it and the meat was juicy (not super oily, but juicy.) The mashed potatoes and gravy weren't bad. They were not super fluffy but a little more on the dense side. (Nothing bad, just dense.) The gravy was somewhat runny with just the right amount of saltiness. The spaghetti was surprisingly good! It's been a few years since I've gone to a Jolly Bee and I had imagined the spaghetti to only be sweet and savory. It was actually pretty good! (Not in an Italian way though. It was a little spicy, which I loved! I wasn't expecting it to be spicy so it was a very pleasant surprise! It was a tad sweet...just the right amount! (There isn't a 3-piece combo on the menu, but the server was kind enough to accommodate my request for an extra piece of chicken.) It came with a container of gravy that made me wonder what it was for, immediately. Then I remembered all the commercials and YouTube videos where food reviewers either slathered their chicken with the gravy or they dunked it into the gravy. I was so hungry that I forgot for a few seconds that the gravy was for the chicken, thus I drank most of the gravy!! The dining area is constantly cleaned and draws a diverse crowd. Because it is at the beginning of downtown it does attract some homeless people as well. But, that's life in the big city, right? When I went to the restroom I found it amusing that a male Jollibee employee was changing his shirt. It seemed he was done for the day. Overall, it was a pleasant meal. I arrived around 5:40 PM, but getting into the parking lot took longer than expected because of the very long drive-thru line and limited parking. Once inside, I waited about 5 minutes at the counter before anyone acknowledged me. I was the only customer waiting inside. I even stood near the online pickup area for a while, hoping someone would ask if I needed help, but several employees walked by without acknowledging me. Two cashiers looked in my direction multiple times but continued their conversation instead of checking whether I was waiting for an order. I finally interrupted to let them know I was there for an online pickup and gave them my name. Unfortunately, there seemed to be confusion about my order. One employee pointed to another, who then pointed back to the first employee while continuing to prepare food. No one was able to tell me whether my order was ready. Thankfully, an employee wearing a different colored shirt (a manager I'm assuming) noticed I hadn't been helped. She immediately apologized, asked for my name, checked on my order, and informed the kitchen that more chicken needed to be prepared. Shortly after, another manager also stepped in, apologized, and helped get everything together. I finally left with my order at 6:09 PM, nearly 40 minutes after my scheduled pickup time. The food was fresh, delicious, and the restaurant itself was clean, which is why I'm giving 5 stars for the food and cleanliness. However, this isn't the first time I've had to wait an unusually long time just to be acknowledged for an online pickup. In the past, my food has at least been ready once someone finally helped me. This visit was different because not only was I ignored, but my order also wasn't ready. I understand that restaurants are fast-paced environments and that unexpected staffing shortages can happen if someone calls out sick. However, there appeared to be plenty of staff working during my visit. My concern wasn't the number of employees--it was the lack of communication, urgency, and teamwork. I believe additional customer service and workflow training could help employees become more productive and ensure that customers, especially those picking up online orders, are acknowledged promptly. A simple greeting such as, "We'll be right with you," or "Let me check on your order," would have made a significant difference. Good communication goes a long way and leaves customers feeling valued, even during busy times.
