Jockamo is frequently noted as Indy's best pizza place. I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to that title but its definitely a great spot. I judge pizza by (A) the crust and (B) the toppings. Jockamo gets its best grade on the toppings. Lots of high quality ingredients and exotic combinations. Go bold and try one of the specialty pizzas - you can get boring pepperoni anywhere. My pizza was half Thai (peanut sauce) and half Bollywood (think Indian Chicken Masala). Both were good and went great with a glass of Chianti. The crust is a little bit on the so-so side. Its a standard thin crust that's almost like eating off a cracker. I prefer my crust a little bit doughier. The neighborhood is a little gem stuffed inside arguably the most dangerous part of Indianapolis. Irvington has lots of neat eateries and places to grab a coffee nearby - so make sure to visit those too. read more

I've had good pizza from here about 3 times but this last time was not good at all it was absolutely no flavor to it, nothing special at all for the price. If I want just a regular bland nothing special pizza I can get that for a lot less money. It was really disappointing this time I don't know if they're Under New Management or they changed ingredients it's just not like it used to be I will not be spending my money on it again read more

Oh Jockamos... You have my heart! If you, like myself, are a sucker for a great pie, good cold local brew, aaaand amazing service, stop what you're doing and get your hiney to Jockamos. It's nestled right in the heart of bustling Irvington. Which in itself is a fun little spot to spend an afternoon. You're always welcomed with a warm and friendly smile. Every time I've been seated pretty quickly even when with a larger group. They have a great selection of local brews on tap and the menu options are mouth watering. I've been in many.... And I repeat MANY times and have never once left disappointed. I've tried it all!!! And you can't go wrong. Their Cheese Louise is a cheese pizza on steroids. It's smothered with cheddar, huge chunks of ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella, smoked gouda, red onion AND bacon y'all!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Some of my other non-traditional favorites are the Thai, Baja, Luau, and Slaughterhouse Five. But honestly.... Who am I kidding. It's all good. Their customer service is absolutely amazing! I ordered three build your own pizzas, breadsticks, 2 sauces to go with those one was Alfredo sauce and the other Marinara sauce. I ordered the cookie, and the carrot cake and both look amazing I can't wait to bite into mine. They were very accommodating and I will never forget. Definitely going back. Update: 2/25/22 - the pizza was amazing. The sauce perfect. The crust perfect. The breadsticks perfect. The carrot cake seemed amazing as I watched it get devoured quite fast and my cookie was a little dry but that might have been my fault. It ride home from pizza place on top of a hot oven box pizza inside..... definitely going back. read more

Jockamo pizza is great! After we went to watch some friends play in a kickball tourney, we were looking for a place to eat. Jockamo was the first choice. For a week night, this place was hopping! Thankfully, for our party of 25, they gave us the entire patio. The service started off a little slow and it took a long time to get our drinks, but after getting them, the service improved. There were even other servers jumping in to deliver food, refill drinks, and tend to our needs. Thanks, Jockamo Pizza, for a great place to hang out and for continued consistent service. read more

I spent almost every week for 18 months in Indy back in 2014-2015 and fell in love with this place. I go here every time I come back (I live in Dallas area) and have the spinach salad and the Cheese Louise. I have tried to recreate this pizza at about 10 places. It is never as good! Service is always consistent and I love all the local art that is on the walls and for sale. Go here, you won't regret it! read more

One of the best reasons to get out of your pajama pants and drive to pick up a pizza!!! I chuckle... everyone knows that the reason you order a pizza is because you don't want to get out of your pajamas. But when it comes to that "extra" mile just to enjoy some of the BEST Pizza in Indianapolis you do things like this!! Even the art on the walls; which is for sale...this place is always busy, goes to show you that they know something about making spectacular Pizza. They offer such unique toppings like fresh garlic, even sun-dried tomatoes, but then again I usually don't branch out to anchovies or anything, but the staff is on point, exhilarating and upbeat you can drink a beer and enjoy a neighborhood gathering place at its best. We ordered a 16" half creole shrimp, half BBQ pulled pork pizza and an order of Spinach Artichoke bread. Let me tell you, the Spinach Artichoke Bread was awesome!! I didn't use the dipping sauce but my husband did and said it was quite Oregano and Basil flavored. I liked it without! The pizza was awesome- we LOVED the Creole Shrimp pizza!! What?! Yes, it was delicious, creamy, fresh, and just amazing. The BBQ was good but we wish we could have had a whole creole pizza. It was delicious. I ordered a Lasagna pizza with extra ricotta cheese and a Caesar salad with anchovies for carry out. Pizza was great tasting and the I definitely got my anchovies for my Caesar salad. Only thing I didn't care for is they cut a large pizza in a party cut unless otherwise requested. Which I did a little too late. At the end of the day it's only a difference in cut, it doesn't change the taste! read more

I Lve Jockamo's pizza. When we moved to Irvington 2 years ago I asked if our home was close to Jockamos / it's important!! I have 3 favorite pizzas there: Cheese Louise, Slaughterhouse Five, and Lazyboy in no particular order. I love their lunch specials 1 piece of pizza and a side salad with a drink. Their breadsticks are just ok for me, I like a little more chew with my sticks but their creamy Parmesan dipping sauce is the bomb! If you're not in the mood for pizza (you might be sick, just sayin) I really like their hummus plate. The hummus is made in house and it comes with pita, diced onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The best part? I'm in IRV - they deliver! Mind blown - add pepperoni to the Cheese Louise! read more

I found this place to be pretty delightful. The manager at the hotel in which I was staying recommended it to me. The pictures on yelp didn't look the best. However the presentation the food was much better in real life. It was pretty delightful and the service was great. They also have quite a few brews on draft as well. read more

When the pizza is so good you forget to take a picture until you've ate most of the 12 inch ! I have been to a couple of the Jockamo's locations and love the food and service but the Irvington location is our fav! Service, food, and atmosphere are above expectations. Does not matter your taste in pizza, they have it all. From your average pepperoni pizza to the Slaughterhouse (ALL the meats!) you will find a favorite here! And for the healthy peeps, they have an amazing pine nut salad that is definitely a go to for me! Parking is usually hard here since it is on a busy street but the lot in the back and the stores next door are cool with using their parking. If you haven't tried this place, check them out! The selections of unique pizzas were really incredible. And so tasty! Good drink options, very friendly and helpful service, and great food. I did feel quite cramped in the space on a busy Friday evening, I just didn't care for that super open concept style where all the tables feel smashed together in the middle of a bright room. But lots of people aren't bothered by that kind of thing, so it's just a personal preference. read more

I usually dine at the Jockamo's in Greenwood, but decided to travel to the east side today and grab lunch at this one instead. The place has a front and rear (parking lot) entrance and is divided into several rooms including the main ordering counter/dining room, and a large bar area to the west. Since I was dining by myself, I opted for the no waiting seating in the bar where they have some 4 top tables besides the chairs at the bar counter. I was greeted and had good service throughout the meal. I went with a lunch special since I wanted pizza (I usually get sandwiches in Greenwood) but not an entire pie. The daily special was a tasty bacon cheddar slice that was really good. Because it's thin crust, I was able to fold it, but did have trouble keeping the chopped tomatoes in the fold. Still, the flavors were nicely balanced and when combined with a small side salad, made for a filling lunch. Checkout was quick and easy and almost made me wish I didn't have to worry about calories since they have a great assortment of sandwiches and whole pizzas. Review #2287 read more

I haven't been since pre-Covid until today. We got to sit outside and everything exceeded our expectations. Since we hadn't been in so long we wanted one of everything. We started with the spinach artichoke bread. It has been a favorite of mine for many years. It isn't something I would normally order because I'm not a fan of spinach artichoke dip, but this bread will leave you wanting more! Next, we each got a small Greek salad. Everything about it is delicious! Lastly, we got the Cheese Louise pizza. It was just as tasty as I remembered. There's just something about the ricotta cheese, bacon, and onions combined that makes it one of the best pizzas in Indy. I'm hoping to return many more times this summer. read more

Meh--the service was great, the breadsticks were good. The pizza ....foe the price I thought it was below my normal standards ....and I love all pizza. The sauce was bland, the peppers on top were crunch barely cooked just the entire pizza was just bland. The pizza I got was suppose to have spicy peppers, pepper jack cheese and Italian sausage. No heat, no flavor just meh. They may have been off due to the Halloween festival but we went in at like 11am and there wasn't really anyone inside the restaurant yet. So idk if they just had an off day but unfortunately I won't be going back. read more

Our go-to pizzas are the Cheese Louise, Lasagna, and Luau + a side of breadsticks with nacho cheese and marinara. The bf loves adding a side of crawfish so he can layer it on his slices. We recently tried the sub sandwiches -- meatball and chicken-bacon-ranch -- and wish we'd have tried them sooner. Great flavor, crispy bread, just an all around great choice. For appetizers, the spinach bread is pretty good but the goat cheese dip is a must (I'll admit we never have enough pita though but just use our breadsticks if needed, so if more than 2 people enjoying it, order extra pita). Friendly service, delivery in 45 minutes usually and pizza is hot and fresh. Enjoy this IRV staple! read more

These were the highlight of the show. The pork on them was thick, the slaw was fresh, and the bao bun itself was fluffy. We split two dishes for dinner- the short rib and the chicken udon noodles. The chicken udon noodles were fantastic- packed full of flavor and tons of toppings in it. The short rib fell a little short of my expectations, but I had high expectations to begin with. We have had the short rib multiple times in the past- and normally it is a hunk of meat, similar to a roast. Now, it is strips of tiny pieces of meat with a bone attached to it. If the owner/general manager is reading this- GO BACK TO THE ROAST STYLE- the strips of meat was too much work to eat. Still packed full of great flavor though. I had the bridge to Anshun for my drink. I had never had Baiju before, but glad I tried it. It was a tangy drink that was also sweet- would say it's a must try. Overall, some changes since our last visit that weren't expected, but overall had a great evening here. Can't wait to return.

It had been before the pandemic since my last time in Indianapolis and much has changed on the city's dining and drinking landscape. Following a recommendation from a bartender at Sundry & Vice, I made my way to BODHI. I didn't have reservations, which I'd strongly recommend, since the place was packed on Wednesday night before 6PM. Fortunately, I was able to snag a seat at the bar, which was ideal since I was dining solo. Upon scanning the hip, high-energy, yet petite dining room, I had a sense of deja vu about it before realizing that I had been in this space before back when it was Black Market. I started off with a cocktail from Bodhi's intriguing and expansive drink list, a 7 Realms of Happiness, made with Old Hamer Bourbon, Faccia Brutto Centerbe, Cappelletti amaro, saffron honey, and lemon. My thought was that it's their twist on a classic Whiskey Smash. It was bittersweet, yet balanced, and simply a delight. As for the food, BODHI's menu is concise hitting the most of the Thai food usual suspects. I had the Papaya Salad and the Shrimp Green Curry. The papaya salad came out first. I was pleasantly surprised by its plating, looking much more like an elaborate entree with its cashews, watermelon radish, and chicharrones than the humble side salad atop a leaf of lettuce or cabbage that I've usually received at virtually every Thai restaurant I've ever been. It was just a pretty plate as it tasted even better than it looked. It was fresh and flavorful as those flavors popped from the perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, spicy, and funky. It was the best rendition of a papaya salad that I've tasted. My bowl of curry was no less successful in balancing those diverse Thai flavor profiles. Unlike some/many other curries I've had where it seems like a bowl full of sauce with bits and pieces of protein or vegetables, Bodhi's rendition achieved the perfect "solids to sauce" ratio. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the curry itself was bold and bright on my tongue. It was a delicious spoonful. I loved it! For "dessert", I had a second cocktail, the Garnet, a booze-forward whisky drink made with Mars Iwai Tradition, Pinhook Rye, Akashi Ume Plum whisky, Veda Mushroom Liqueur, Balsamic Vermouth, celery & orange bitters, and topped with a Moon Smoke Bubble. It was very unique, tasty and satisfying, if not a bit difficult to describe. I would maybe compare it to an Asian-influenced Vieux Carre and I thought it was excellent. Service from Carli, the bartender, was stellar throughout my night as she was friendly, helpful and exceedingly outstanding in making my drinks. A definite rock star! BODHI was outstanding. I'm not sure how to best describe the place. Was it as an amazing Thai restaurant that also does incredible cocktails or an amazing cocktail bar that also does killer Thai food? Regardless, I could not have enjoyed my experience more. If/when I'm back in Indy, BODHI is at the top of my list for a visit!
