Great service once again, as my friends & I were here for our friend Melanie's birthday. We arrived at a very good time because we got right in & placed our orders. The lunch rush came in right after us! I had the Nacho Fries & a Coke Zero. Just the right lunch & portion for me in terms of meal size. I was content & not overly filled up. Busy but happy ambiance, along with good friends & a beautiful day. What more can you ask for? Joe's always satisfies!
I want to start this review by saying, it's a breath of fresh air to eat a good portion of food and not feel tired or drained from certain ingredients bogging me down! At Joe's Farm Grill, the quality of ingredients does show in every single dish you get. Another thing to mention is, when you're done ordering your food at the register, they are pretty fast regardless of how packed the place is which pleasantly surprised me! For the onion rings, I liked them for a few reasons. Starting off, the onions weren't soggy by any means which I love in a good ring, batter wasn't the majority of the ring which is also a great sign, and lastly the crunch was very nice with them coming out fresh. The Fontina burger has a great beef patty that carries its flavor by how clean it tastes alongside the mushrooms that are the other biggest taste factor for this burger. Finally, the baby back ribs were the star for me personally because you can actually taste the pork for its quality. I usually expect a super sweet sauce that bogs me down after with ribs, but these ones left me feeling able to still go on about my day which I love. They aren't shake off the bone tender but I liked the gentle chew they provide. Overall, I recommend Joe's to anyone who cares more about the ingredient sourcing and quality while enjoying a nice family friendly vibe for a lunch/dinner. They have a great outdoor patio seating for times when it's not over 100 degrees.
This place has a large nice outdoor seating area when weather permits. Walk in and order at counter and wait for food. Food came out fairly quickly first time here in over 10+ years gluten-free bun was OK.
This is one of my favorites spot where you can get fresh, healthy, and delicious meals. They have lots of options to offer; from simple grill Salmon, Burger, Pizza and more. The service is top-notch, the staff s are very friendly and they are willing to help whenever needed. They have both indoor and outdoor area for you to sit back and enjoy your meals. Great vibes, warm welcome, comfortable and very relaxing. If you like the garden feel, this spot has so much more to offer for you, come and try it yourself!
This is definitely a family destination and rightfully so. You can choose to dine inside or outdoors, with plenty of seating in both. The menu is small but designed to have something for everyone, from salads to chicken and burgers or seafood. The fried shrimp platter is wonderful and comes with sides -- i had the sweet potato fries. The waitstaff is very friendly and eager to help you with whatever you might need-- there is a handy hand washing station out back near the restrooms-that is a great addition
6/20/26: I was not expecting this place to be so large. They have an outside patio area to the north with mister's & shade, and numerous picnic tables around the building, also with shade & nice greenery. The service was on top of things & the few staff members we encountered were happy & friendly. There was plenty of parking. The food was good but nevertheless, I was disappointed with my biscuit & sausage gravy scramble. Its description states "loaded with Schreiner's pork bacon sausage". Can YOU spot any sausage in the photo? That's because there was hardly any. Despite that, the gravy was flavorful, and the potatoes were exceptionally seasoned. The biscuit was a bit small for the price. My sister enjoyed her waffles & chicken. Would we return? The jury is still out.
This place has always been a local favorite of mine, and the long lines always show that I'm not the only one. It's a great kind of fast casual type of environment, where all of the food is farm to table. Prices are pretty reasonable, and I don't think I've ever had a dish I didn't like here. On my most recent visit, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken "Gilbert Style," which was a first, and wow, did it deliver. The sandwich was huge, delicious, and I ordered it with a side of their garlic parmesan fries, which are to die for. You absolutely MUST try this place if you live in, or are visiting, Gilbert!!!
This is one of our go-to spots, especially for your birthday since you get a free meal! My husband swears nothing compares to their chicken & waffles they're truly a game changer. If you visit, you absolutely have to check out the bathrooms because it's one of those things you just have to experience for yourself After your meal, take a stroll through the gorgeous Agritopia Gardens to soak in the charm and walk off all the yummy food.
This place is phenomenal. Be prepared to wait around lunch time for 30-60 minutes to order and get your food. It is definitely worth the wait. The portions are all fresh, and we could have easily shared a burger or sandwich. Their onion rings are real, shakes are the best around. And their service, while extremely busy, they have the process down. Very friendly staff.
We saw this restaurant on social media along with other coffee, shops and retail in the area so we decided to make a day of it. We were torn between another very popular restaurant and someone convinced us to come here and we were glad we did. As a walk up counter order service and they give you a buzzer when your order is ready, they bring it to your table along with silverware, water, etc. There's a big indoor seating area as well as a very large outdoor area with misters, which is probably amazing in the fall and spring- not so amazing in the hot summer. It's across from the Agritopia village/farm. We opted to have the apple fritters and breakfast tacos to share the apple. Fritters were outstanding. I believe there were eight fritters to the order with a side of caramel sauce. We ended up taking home half the order. The tacos were OK. We thought the scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry. It comes with three tacos on doubled up corn tortillas which are like the street size tortilla. I'm not sure if having a larger tortilla would be better. They were a little challenging to eat as a taco. They are definitely stuffed with the ingredients. The side of potatoes were delicious. Clean location a really great experience. I probably would come back and try other Items.
Joe's Farm Grill is one of those places that has quietly become a family tradition for us. We pretty much have to go for every birthday because... how do you turn down a free birthday meal? Exactly. The vibes are half the reason we love it so much. Sitting outside, the relaxed farm setting, and the kids being able to run around once they've finished eating makes it such an easy, happy place to spend an evening. It never feels rushed, which is a huge win when you're dining with kids. Food-wise, we have our favorites. The onion rings are fantastic, and the corn dog bites are technically for the kids... but let's be honest, I absolutely steal a few whenever there are leftovers. And then there are the milkshakes. Oh, the milkshakes. They are always worth it. We usually split two meals so we can balance things out. One of us will go for the classic burger and fries while the other orders something a little healthier like the salmon and veggies. That way we get the treats and the tasty stuff without feeling totally overboard. Great food, fun atmosphere, and a place the whole family genuinely looks forward to. It's a birthday tradition for a reason.
I must say the photos don't lie and the smell from the line you can tell the food was going to be great. And if the line is long it must mean it is worth it. I like this place since you can choose inside or outside and it's nice having rowdy kids they have plenty of area to run without disturbing any peace. The owner came and brought menus out which was nice we can look while we wait the line was pretty long this time tho so we didn't end up staying needless to say we will be back, I can't get the smell of the food out my mind and the photos I've seen just look so good! There are some must tries here.
Service Once we found a table a server brought over a picture of water/plastic glasses. Our food came out fast. Ambiance It was unseasonably warm for late February so we sat inside. Several tables were dirty but we found a booth. Outside patio is nice with very large trees. Food We had the BBQ Chicken Salad and the BBQ bacon blue bird. The sandwich came with several side options, and the beet salad was fresh with golden and red beets. The chicken was so dry and chewy in both dishes. The salad had plenty of roasted corn, poblano peppers and juicy tomatoes, there was a smoky barbecue drizzle throughout the salad, but the char marked chicken was so dry and tough. They bring you the drinks (and you can get soda refills). The best thing we had was the beet salad.
Joe's Farm Grill is a destination in Gilbert for very tasty, freshly-made cuisine using high quality, locally-sourced ingredients. It's been featured on the Food Network program "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" for their innovative menu of creative and mouthwatering burgers, sandwiches, salads, and side dishes in a very casual ambiance at very reasonable prices -- considering the generous portion size and quality of the ingredients. One thing that makes it so special is that much of the fruit, vegetables, and herbs used at Joe's Farm Grill are sourced directly from the owners' farm and most other ingredients are obtained from local providers in Arizona. Joe's Farm Grill features a very casual ambiance where you stand in line to order at the counter before staking your claim to a table inside or outside on the patio and a server brings out your meal from the kitchen. On my recent visit to Joe's Farm Grill, I ordered the Garlic Bacon burger ($18), an 8 oz. burger generously topped with bacon, roasted garlic, tomato, grilled red onion, and barbeque sauce, with a side order of onion rings. WOW! Incredibly tasty and so juicy that it's served with a pair of disposable plastic gloves to keep your hands fresh while you enjoy this incredible burger. My dining companions opted for a somewhat healthier selection (as usual) and both ordered the Ahi Tuna sandwich ($18), a generous portion of rare ahi tuna topped with Asian slaw, and wasabi mayo. They both enjoyed their sandwiches very much (but were not quite as audibly excited them as I was about my burger). We also ordered a portion of Spicy Pickle Fries, a VERY generous portion of fresh pickles coated with spicy cornmeal that was quite tasty -- but very salty. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area. Pro Tip: Joe's Farm Grill has a large shaded outdoor dining area adjacent to the legacy 12-acre family farm that still supplies much of the ingredients for the restaurant, but climbing the trees is prohibited. read more

Joe's Farm Grill is a great spot for a family meal, with both indoor and outdoor seating. One of the coolest perks is their birthday deal--you get $16 off your meal, which makes celebrating extra fun! On our recent visit, we tried the Farm Burger, which comes with cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes, and pickles. I ordered it cooked through for the kids, but unfortunately, it ended up a bit dry and they didn't love it. Next time, I'll try medium-well to see if it's a bit juicier.We also shared the trio of sides: garlic fries, sweet potato fries, and fried zucchini. The garlic fries were definitely the standout for me--super flavorful and crispy. I wasn't a fan of the zucchini, but others in our group really liked it.In the past, I've had the Fontina Burger, and it was absolutely delicious--packed with flavor and very fresh, like everything else on the menu. The line was out the door, but it's probably because the food was really good. We got a burger and pizza. It seemed like it's focaccia bread. With the burger you need to ask for it to be well done right? no, I didn't agree. I thought you it says that it's pink but I think it's actually fine if it's pink, don't ask for it well done if you want your burger to be pink then yeah of course don't ask for well done. I don't agree with him here. We also got a shake, and the shake was delicious. It was a cookie one and over all the vibe the service amazing the food was good. read more
I am in LOVE with this adorable place!! I felt like I left Arizona and was visiting somewhere else with all the trees, shade, and general plant life surrounding the area. There is plenty of outdoor seating (picnic tables) under shade with misters. This seemed popular with families of children, so that they could easily run around. There were even some mini picnic tables for kids! Inside, you order at the counter and then receive a buzzer. Once you pick your table, a server comes by to bring whatever drinks you ordered and drop off your food. Their service is INSANELY quick and the food was so flavorful and used local and organic ingredients, which I loved! The biscuit that came with the omelet was sooo yummy, I could have eaten a plate of them! The bathrooms are outside and are super unique with vintage Barbies and The Jetsons playing on a TV, which was fun! read more

Was visiting phoenix for a couple of days and my relatives said this is a must try when visiting the area. My uncle and aunt took me here on a Thursday early afternoon and it was packed! They told me that this is normal for any day and sometimes the line would be out the door. You place your order first and then find your own table. Luckily we were able to find indoor seating since the temperature was high that day. Our party of 3 ordered the pick 3 (onion rings, fried zucchini and garlic fries), farmhouse burger, stuffed lamb burger and the fontina pesto chicken sandwich along with the mango-peach w/strawberry shake and a strawberry shake with chocolate syrup (think chocolate covered strawberry). Pick 3 - portions were huge - i forgot we had ordered sandwiches and went to town on the fried zucchini and garlic fries. Loved the ranch dipping sauce as well. Milkshakes were delicious and portion was good enough to share for 2 people. I can only speak for the fontina pesto chicken sandwich - YUMMY!! The flavors worked so well together and the bun was delicious! The others raved about their burgers as well. sandwich portions are huge - i only ate half since i went hard on the appetizers but it made for a nice night time meal while at the hotel. This was highly recommended by a couple of friends who are local to the area. They raved about this place for a few days before we actually went there for lunch. This place met all the anticipated expectations. I tried their lamb burger with a side of beet salad. It was delicious and very filling. The lamb was well cooked and it was very juicy. I have been told that they grow their own vegetables nearby. We sat outside under the trees surrounded by grape vines, blueberry plants, orange trees, pomegranate shrubs and other plants. There were a lot of birds flying around and waiting for scraps of leftover food. They did not bother anyone. read more

I wanted to bring my friend here because I'd been here a couple of years ago and I remember loving it. I got the veggie burger the last time and I ordered it again because it was seriously the best impossible burger I've ever had. And it was just like how I remembered it! I don't know how they make the patty, but if I could pay money to get the recipe for it and recreate it at home, I would! We arrived a little before 5 on a Saturday and there was a little bit of a line, but it moved quickly. The food came out rather quickly too. My friend ordered the grilled cheese and a side Caesar salad. She also ordered a root beer because she has never heard of the brand and wanted to try it. She loved everything too! She liked how the sandwich was made with Texas toast and not regular bread. I got a side salad for my side and asked for their honey mustard dressing, but was given ranch. No big deal, as I'm not actually a vegan, but it's just something that happened. Anyway, the bun was soft, the lettuce crispy, and the pickle slices were thick. Everything about this experience was really nice. 10/10 read more
Walking into this place the vibes are amazing. The decor is homey and modern and despite the small size inside, the exterior is insanely huge and welcoming. I knew immediately the place had to be good based on the seemingly unending line when we walked in. Half of our party went to try to grab tables and the other half stood in line. We were lucky and got two booths but I could see seating being an issue when it's hot. In the winter there is so much seating outside I bet it's a little more calm. The line moved fast and the customer service of the lady behind the register was excellent! She was friendly and was willing to make suggestions since it was our first time. Other than a little hiccup with our kiddos food taking forever and then being wrong, the customer service was too notch. The food is so good. Farm to table can be hit or miss because sometimes the ingredients are fresh but very plain - not here! Everything was fresh, the flavors were amazing, and extra bonus points for the garlic fries. We will definitely be coming back to try more goodies, especially the famous chocolate chip cookies! read more

Free birthday meal on your birthday with proof of ID! My favorite spot to grab a milkshake! Service is counter-style, ordering at a register to then be served via a number system. Staff does bring silverware and drinks directly to your table once you have decided where to sit. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Beautiful updated patio with additional picnic table style seating, sun shades and string patio lights. Easy to access location, accessible parking available. Stopped by for a family get together on a Thursday night. 100+ degrees in Phoenix and there was still comfortable seating outside. There was small line but it moved quickly. The order process was a little rushed and we had a few issues with accuracy. We ordered one of the sandwiches lettuce wrapped which was served with a bun. We asked for one of the sandwiches with arugula and mustard and both were left off. All and all the orders came quickly and the food was tasty overall. I would return. read more
Love to come back to the farm grill when I'm in the area. The fries are irresistible and was a great pit stop after a doggo walking at the park. The line can be long at times but it gave me the right amount of time to scope everything on the menu and see what was special on the screens. The ahi is always a solid pick as well as the garlic fries. I saw there was a new burger and wanted to try it out alongside the spicy pickle fries. Portions are huge and I like that the soda station and Togo boxes are self serve and next to each other. Great place to bring dogs or kids and fortunately they don't have beers or it would take me forever to leave. The shakes and specialty sodas are still a great drink and treat to have. This is a charming little spot with yummy food. Pros: - Super bright and cheerful place with a great outdoor area (they have misters so it's nice even in the summer!) - Eclectic menu that's done well. Food was delicious and fresh- took about 45 minutes but was worth the wait super busy! There's inside seating in the ac and outdoor picnic style seating with misters. Kid friendly! Bathrooms were nice too. I recommend ordering ahead of time online before getting there so that you don't wait as long. read more
Joe's Farm Grill has been on DDD numerous times and been a favorite for years. When our boys were young, 15 years ago, we loved the drive out to Gilbert and enjoy the atmosphere. The food was also a treat with a beautiful outdoor seating. The area has now exploded with growth and additional dining options. We ventured back to Joe's Farm Grill and the place looked similar to what we recalled. The menu has changed and servers now deliver the food. We ordered and took our seat. We ordered the Gouda garlic bacon burger with tomatoes, BBQ sauce and red onions. The burger was perfectly cooked, medium rare but the Gouda flavor was over-powering. The tri-order sides were: onion rings (perfect), fries (under cooked), and fried zucchini (nice crunch). The food quality was not what we remembered. The BBQ sampler was fair with ribs, pulled pork and chicken tenders. A member of our group ordered the Thai chicken salad. The Thai chicken salad was checked on 3 separate occasions and finally was delivered to the table 5 minutes prior to us leaving (35 minutes later). This is no way to excel in customer service and the fact we had to ask frequently with no follow up or accountability for missing the mark, is not acceptable. It saddens us that Joe's Farm Grill has missed the mark. They do not appear to offer great service and a decreased food quality. We will not be returning to Joe's Farm Grill as it is 50 minute one way drive for us. I hope they right the ship but it starts with management and we found them to be MIA. read more

Their motto should be "common food done uncommonly poorly" Went here for the first time and was severely underwhelmed. We went in as a party of 5 and there was no indoor seating to accommodate our party size. Every table and booth were made for parties of 1-4. I ordered the farm burger and it was dryer than dust. It was nothing more than an overcooked basic burger. For $15 you can go to any other restaurant for something better. At the bottom of an order of garlic fries, there was a pool of grease that was soaked into a good portion of fries. It ended up being inedible. The service was also subpar. We stood in line to put in our order with the cashier and were told that we would have servers bring us food and check-in on us. So at the register we left a tip. In hindsight this was mistake because leaving a tip before the service is provide is a gamble and in this case we lost. No refills on water, didn't take finished plates to make room for desert. Definitely service not worth 15% of our total bill. Overall, it's a gimmicky place given it's part of a farm. Low quality food and low quality service. Don't waste your time or money here. Go to one of the other dozens of restaurants in the area. read more

Overall a great experience, especially as a family. There was a line out the door so I was a bit annoyed when we first got there because I figured it would be a hassle. I was wrong, line moved quick, seating was fast and there was plenty of seating for children and toddlers. Food was really good and they give you little plastic gloves for anything messy. I think our order came out in about 10 minutes which was great considering we have multiple squirmy kids. It was nice they had both an indoor area and outdoor area, gave us a little choice on everything. Should mention this was on a weekend and we still got seated, so very much recommend. read more
Such a fun spot! We came in for an early lunch and noticed a lot of local families coming in and out. Such a wide menu, but the breakfast looked best during our visit! Big portions, easy to share. A long time staple in Gilbert. Joe's Farm Grill is a regular stop for locals and has been featured on Food Network. I've spend many birthday lunches here with friends over the years (free bday meal when you show ID). Joe's has a unique 60's burger stand look to it with indoor/outdoor picnic tables shaded by large trees. Walking distance away is The Farm at Agritopia and The Coffee Shop. The fruits, vegetables, and herbs that are used at Joe's Farm Grill are harvested at The Farm. The line at Joe's Farm Grill can be long at peak hours, but moves quick. The menu is common American cuisine. So think pizza, burgers, salads, ribs, hot dogs, and breakfast. Some of my personal favorites over the years have been the BBQ Bacon Blue Burger, Nashville Hot Chicken, Baby Back Ribs, Sweet Potato Fries, BBQ Chicken Pizza, and the Breakfast Tacos. You can't go wrong with their milkshakes or lemonades. Joe's special "dog days of summer" menu features a variety of gourmet hot dogs during the hot AZ summer months. I've been dining at Joe's Farm grill for a long time. I love the community feel that is always here. My favorite thing to do is grab a coffee from the Coffee Shop and go for mini stroll around the Farm after a meal. This place is simply AMAZING! While we did have to wait in a line, it goes quick and the service is friendly and fast. It was our first time here & we will certainly be coming back! The food is so delicious and the milkshakes are the best I've had in the valley since moving here. And the servings are huge, I was only able to eat half! The place is modern and up to date. I really enjoy that they bring everything to you after you find your seat. Definitely check this place out! It is a bit on the pricier side but it's worth it. read more
As seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Joe's was once a small part of the farm. The picnic tables give that natural feel. Parts of the farm still exist. Gilbert has really grown up around it. At least that is how it looks from the pictures. Joe's Farm Grill is in a category all its own. At Joe's Farm Grill, dinners order at the counter. Food is brought to guest's tables. The line to order extended about 10 feet out the door. Line moved fairly quickly. It was only about a 15 minute wait. Once the food was brought to our table, we were checked on a few times. Being checked on was not something I was expecting. This restaurant has table service level customer service. It's not only the service that was superior, the quality of the food is too. I had a hard time deciding what to order. I finally decided on a patty melt on marbled rye bread with French fries. As noted on the menu, burgers are cooked pink in the middle. Burger was juicy and flavorful. Rye bread was nicely toasted. Bread was crisp on the outside while soft on the inside. Bread was not greasy. French fries were plentiful. My friend said that her food was equally delicious. She is gluten-free. One of the things she loves about Joe's is that they offer gluten-free buns. If in the area again, I would look forward to trying more from Joe's Farm Grill. read more
I was visiting a friend and we went here for breakfast during the trip. I loved the veggie scramble with pesto, a biscuit, and potatoes. Delicious and didn't leave you feeling gross even if you ate your whole plate. It made me want to create the scramble at home...it was that yummy. There is indoor seating and a patio with misters. The servers brought us water outside and brought our meals out in a timely manner. FYI, they have regular coffee, but no espresso drinks. There is a coffee shop within walking distance though, so it's not a big deal. I wish we had one in California. read more

Since I've moved to Arizona, Joes has been on my radar because it is constantly talked about by my colleagues and friends. I made it a point to make it here on a Saturday for brunch. There was a line out the door when we got there and I didn't realize it is not a full service restaurant, you order at the front and find a seat. It took us about 20 minutes to get through the line which was not bad considering how long the line was. We ordered and found a spot outside which there was plenty of space and also very dog friendly. I ordered the lamb burger with goat cheese and Caesar salad. All I can say is that this is one of the best burgers I've ever had. My friend had the barbecue blue cheese burger which I was told, "is the best thing on the menu" with garlic fries. The fries were so good I was eating off my friends plate. After we were finished, we walked around the property and enjoyed the beautiful walk ways and gardens. This is an absolute must try 10/10 spot! read more

Reviewing: Joe's Farm Grill Rating: 4 out of 5 Address: 3000 Ray Rd (Gilbert, AZ) Hours: Everyday 7:30am-9pm People eating: 2 adults and 2 toddlers. Atmosphere: Absolutely stunning outside. LOTS of seating outside for when it's nice out. They even have super misters too for when it's out of you choose to eat outside. Very bright and inviting for sure! Staff: Very friendly. Got checked on a couple times. Food: You order your food first before you sit down. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and ranch, and a butter pecan milkshake. Hey Matt, the Farm Grill is limited (family atmosphere) but the Garage East, also on the property has a brewery inside along with eateries and a wine bar with a nice patio. Even better experience than the farm grill IMHO.
Free meal on my Birthday?
It's a $10 credit towards your bill, but it's only good on the day of your birthday with ID Card.

I'm so sorry I do not know the answer about free kids meals on their birthday's. I'd call Joe's for this answer.

Is there a separate line for take out orders?
Yes!!! Call in your order and pick it up at the window!! This is how we do it even when we are eating there. It saves so much time and waiting in the line!

They have really good burgers which o don't believe have lemon or critic acid. They also have a large menu of healthy choices but I think you would have to go there to determine their ingredients.
Sodium in farm fresh burger?
I'm sure some is in the burger as it is in almost everything. (Unless you live in NY) but it's all fresh food, you will not see a Sysco truck at Joe's! It's high quality meat and food in general.
Does Joe's' have any vegan choices on their menu?
