I cannot stress how tasty this pizza is. Crust isn't burn or too tough, toppings are all great choices and on whichever combination. They're open LATE, so when you and your pot-head buddies need to snack, this place is open past 11pm and later. Extremely close and convenient. All around: Great Pizza. read more

While trying to support small local businesses, Joe's makes it very difficult. Clearly ordered a small sausage pizza only to arrive and be told they had it as a cheese pizza. Not correct and not the first time either. However, the issue is not the mistake, just another in a series of mistakes that they have made on our orders, but the shitty attitude of the owners, who do not even try to be sincere in their efforts to make things right. They continue to excuse poor processes and ignorant staff but never actually address anything. Sad to see over and over again. While an established business, if ya just can't get things right, and ya don't give a crap about your long term customers, you are a failure. read more

This is really a 3 1/2 star review, but I put up the 4 stars since I thought they were cool. Pizza was good- but not great (so sorry!). Spinach is not fresh, but rather frozen (could tell by the color, taste, and the way it looks), and the mushrooms were sparse but fresh. The bacon was plentiful...which I loved! Not crumbles of crap, but rather sizable pieces. Don't judge a book by its cover, man. Decor is dated and simple, but I liked it. The looks of the place from the outside confused me (thought it was take out only)...but I looked it up on Yelp and figured out it had a dining area. RC Cola products might tick some people off...but I liked this too. Felt sorta retro ;) The place was pretty inexpensive, and that is always a nice perk. read more

I picked up a pizza before heading to a local park to listen to some music, and was really impressed. My only disappointment is that I live too far for this to become my regular pizza joint. It is hard to review the taste and quality of this pizza because my order was never delivered even though I paid for it! I ordered through the "Slice" App that they push their customers towards. I waited for 90 minutes and finally called and checked on the status and they showed it as delivered. Their delivery person claimed they left it on my stoop, called and left me a message and departed. They flat out lied and stole my pizza and money. The manager admitted the driver was not his driver and then told me "that's why I hate when people select contactless delivery". Then why the F do you offer it if you can't trust your process! Joes's has been around since the 1960s. Great thin pizza. They use sausage that tastes like sausage. I asked them why their pizza is so good and was told that they only use the best ingredients. Little hole in the wall pizza joint. The pizza was good and the owner was very friendly. Those things made up for the horribly slow service. There were only four tables of people and the waitress kept vanishing for 10 minutes at a time. She never refilled our waters and took forever to bring the check. Also loudly complaining about how you can't afford an iPhone to three of the four tables to try to get better tips isn't going to work. The owner who was making the pizza was really friendly and welcoming and made up for the poor service of his wait staff. As for the food, the pizza has a very thin crust and was good, flavorful pizza. The only potential improvement is some slices were thin on sauce. The topping selection is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Had a pie with mushrooms, sausage, green peppers, and onions. They don't skimp on the toppings which is great. The onion pieces are put on in big chunks so be prepared to those to be larger than the other toppings. read more

The last time I had Joe's, yelp didn't exist. I drove 30 miles tonight (round trip), 15 of those with the heat cranked to keep it from getting cold as much as I could before getting home to eat it. This place hasn't changed a bit - ever. The restaurant is a dive, same guy is behind the counter running it ( at least one of them). Good pizza. Terrible customer service. Warning - if they are busy, expect to wait 5+ minutes on hold when calling to place your order. They don't ask if it's ok to place you on hold and if you hang up and call back, they won't give you a chance to say you've already been waiting on hold 5 minutes. Instead, they automatically put you back on hold and you repeat this ridiculous cycle. When I spoke to the manager, I was told this is the way they do business. Really?!! Not quite sure how this place is so highly rated. And not quite sure why my dumbass decided to give them another shot. Tried twice before over the last couple years and wasn't impressed. Told myself that's it.....but I had a taste for a thin crust pizza tonight and figured "what the hell...I'll try". Ordered a pizza for carry out tonight. 16" thin crust with sausage, green peppers, and garlic. Extremely light on the sausage and peppers, and yet as much as I love garlic, it was slathered on to the point where it almost made it no good to eat. Pizza also just too soft on the bottom, especially in the middle, again like a previous experience. Can't see how they can't get a pizza that thin done right but I've given it enough chances now to have learned my lesson. Saw when I went for my pickup a write up on the wall rating them #2 for their style of pizza. The #1 place was Villa Nova which isn't too far from where I grew up. Villa Nova and a couple other places in that area run circles around Joe's......no comparison. Give it a try if you like, but you'll be like WTF??!! And then remember these 4 words of mine will ring in your head afterwards. And that's "I TOLD YOU SO"!! read more

I tried Joe's for the first time last Friday and I have to say it's THE best thin crust pizza I've ever had. I live in Mundelein and Bill's Pizza is pretty famous for their thin crust. I always thought it was the best until I had Joe's. The crust was thin and crispy and had just the right amount of cheese and sauce. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are in every bite. Very friend staff too. I think I talked to the owner when I was there. And one more thing, the pizza comes in a bag! I think it helps keep the pizza warmer and crispier! read more

This is a fantastic local pizzeria! It's clean with a friendly staff and the pizza is DELICIOUS! I loved that they used REAL bacon! They also allowed half and half so we could get what we want. Also had the Veal Parmesan sandwich and it was the best I've had. read more

When I order pizza, I'm not looking for a healthy alternative to whatever is in the fridge. I look for a hot, greasy, delicious, fast meal to pile into my face. Joe's Pizzeria covers that and beyond. Let's just say - I lived in Wheeling for about 8 months before I decided to try Joe's. The strip mall it is located in made me hesitant about trying the food. Needless to say, I was very wrong about my assumptions. The crust is phenomenal... light, crispy. The sauce is, very surprisingly, tasty and has a rich flavoring. And the cheese is, well... greasy and delicious! From the look of the place (inside and out) you'd expect bland, cheap pizza. And it is ONLY the latter - my boyfriend and I ordered a large pizza for under $10. It was huge! We also tried the Italian beef and fries. The beef was great for $3.95 and I wouldn't order the fries again. Great place!!!!!!! read more

The only good thing about this place is that it closes at 2am nothing else. My friends and I have order pizza from here many times and it's fairly to say that 3 out of 10 orders are wrong. It is upsetting to me because it takes about an hour to delivery the food. Then you get something that you didn't order then you have to call, send a picture as a prove that they messed up then wait another hour to get what you order in the first place.
