I have been to this establishment before and the food was okay but not today. We ordered an appetizer which took for ever to come out and when it came out the food was cold. The server told us be careful it's hot . The only thing warm was the mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce. The calamari was cold and so were the nachos . The waiter said he would bring us plates since we were a party of 5.... never came back. Our food came out and was so so. Sad part is they never gave us bread sticks like the other customers nor napkins. We also saw the staff arguing with each other which was not professional. The waiter who we had messed up on someone's order, which can happen. Food is horrible but Raul brings in the people. New managers or people in charge are very bipolar. The service is the not the same, I've walked out from hearing managers yell at employees. I'm a paying customer I come to enjoy not hear they're troubles. Pasta needs to be better, first off. So we go to see Raul great regulars enjoy seeing Raul for the last 9 years as regulars. This new splitting restaurant was enough change for loyal regulars, but now new management and crew is different energy. Decided to go here for the first time. I walk in and was immediately told by the hostess for a party of two there was a 10 minute wait. Well, what I didn't realize the hostess was preparing silverware and made me and my party wait till she was done with her task before seating us. There were open tables all over the place... Then says any questions and drinks.. no let me tell you what is good, nothing... her face read im annoyed. She asks if we are ready to order.. we barely sat down.. how would we be ready to order? She comes back way later, we order the food. She then asks annoyed anything else.. I ask for the stuffed mushrooms again same attitude annoyance. Okay.. she brings everything out I'm still being polite to her and trying to figure out what the issue is. Then she says let me get you the bread, never brought it out, but brought her attitude instead.. Okay... fine... maybe you were having a bad day... Then we go to pay... she takes the bill and my card to go close out the bill. Comes back with an attitude again, and this time instead of handing me back my debit card gives it to the other person in my party when she could clearly see my wallet on the table. It took everything in me not to make a scene in the restaurant. How are you going to be in a customer service job and treat people like crap Andrea? Attitude was bad, service was bad, you clearly didn't give a damn and you expected a tip? I hope you took the advice I left on the receipt to heart, there was no need for it. I patronized the Downey Johnny Carino's numerous several times in the past 4 years, always takeout. The pizza I'd order was basic and nothing extraordinary, it's on the bready side actually. Aside from the kitchen staff-the cooks, to be precise-who have an odd and discomforting habit of looking out (or, staring? They certainly look long enough, every Single Time, as if they're trying to recognize the subjects of their "interest." On different occasions I mentioned it to at least 3 different servers) from their open-spaced kitchen in the rear of the restaurant to the takeout waiting area at the front door to see who ordered takeout. The weird staring cooks notwithstanding, what really ruined the place for me and the reason I stopped going is the following: I would tip out ($7 to $10) whichever server would bring my takeout less than $30 order from the kitchen counter in the back. It was usually different servers, but there was one who would consistently take my order and with whom, I thought, mistakenly, I shared a professional rapport. I went in there one hot summer afternoon a few months ago. I was carrying heavy bags. I sat down to get a breather before ordering. The server was with a departing dine-in customer, helping her pack some things. I got up from the take out/waiting seats and stood in the front counter area, but still I stayed in the background in an effort to make my presence known to the server. The lady she was serving took a decent amount of time so once I realized the server saw me, I sat back down thinking I would soon be able to order and to also order a cold Coke-which I needed badly-I was very hot, sweating and feeling weak. As the customer walked out, the server was helping her to the door, a tall guy with a kid walked in. I was sitting there, waiting for the server to finally take my order, but she didn't even look at me. As soon as she walked behind the front counter, she quickly looks up and takes the tall guy's order, treating me like I was the invisible man. I was not about to shout that I was next because I just wasn't feeling well enough to potentially get into it with her or the tall guy. The restaurant was not at all busy either. So I walked out and I'm not going back. There are simply too many other restaurants around than to put up with servers who are oblivious, unappreciative, and unprofessional. read more

I was pleasantly surprised as the food was not as bad as I had expected it to be. The menu has a large variety of items. I asked our server if we could apply the voucher towards their special 2 for 49.99 menu and she said yes! With this special you get 1 appetizer (calamari or mozzarella sticks), 2 salads (house or caesar), choice of 3 entrees (cheese tortellini, spaghetti with meatballs, or chicken fettuccine alfredo), & dessert (chocolate cake, cheesecake, or tiramisu). In addition we ordered house cabernet (which was very good) and our server charged us the HH price of 5.00/glass! Our server Alejandra was very nice, efficient, and provided courteous service! If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine this place isn't it but if you're seeking a reasonably priced "good value" meal then it won't serve you wrong! read more
