I had been wanting to visit Johnny Manhattan's for years. Having grown up in the area, I couldn't believe I'd never been -- so we decided to go for my son's birthday. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment, and I won't be returning. The atmosphere was fantastic -- it truly has that classic, old-school supper club feel I was hoping for. Sadly, the poor service overshadowed nearly everything else. We never received bread for the table, our drinks sat empty for long stretches, a martini glass was accidentally dropped and shattered on our table, and two of our five meals arrived missing their sides. The food itself was good, but not great. My son's pizza was undercooked -- the crust couldn't even hold up the cheese and pepperoni. The ribs were lackluster, the fries never showed up, and while my steak was decent, it too was missing a side. The remaining dishes at our table came out correctly and were fine, but by that point we'd been waiting well over an hour and didn't have the patience to request fixes. Overall, the food quality was okay for the area, but not worth the price or frustration. I'd suggest driving a little farther for a better dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant that accommodates a large number of customers both for dining and cocktail lounging. Very welcoming entry door, parking lot, ramp with railings, restroom, and smooth navigation inside of the restaurant for cane or walker dependent customers. A generous menu of assorted food choices and appetizers. Friendly hostess and waitstaff. Great bartenders. Special occasion dinner or just an evening out with a friend are handled well here. Delicious Veal Johnnys entree followed by a turtle sundae was my delight for the night.

We went here on a Wednesday night for our anniversary and it was a great meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly and they were flavorful. The sides were fabulous. The inside is filled with holiday decorations and it's very joyful. Feels like an old high end supper club. They also gave us a small anniversary cake at the end. It was very kind. Only negative was the house salad was not top notch - it was something you'd experience at Applebees or a similar place - wasn't bad - just not great. We will go there again.

We had an incredible dining experience here. Table of 5 sober got to try alot of dishes. The brandy old fashioned were perfect. The server was attentive and friendly and we actually got our own private room. We highly recommend the haystack onion strings and the cheese curd appetizers. The remoulade (?) sauce with the strings was fantastic. One of our diners had the lasagna. It was absolutely enormous and came with a salad and what he described as the best garlic bread ever. He also said the lasagna was the best he's ever had. He's a big eater and barely ate half his meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had an amazing char. The baked potato and the hash brown casserole were both great. We added side scallops and they were huge and tasty. Great meal. Hope to be back soon as there were at least 10 dishes that sound amazing.

We had a wonderful experience at Johnny Manhattan's. The setting is very beautiful - located in the scenic Holy Hill area. Inside the restaurant you'll feel like you're at a swanky steak house. I ordered the lasagna- it was possibly the best I have ever had. The portion was huge and it came with a delicious salad and a slice of tasty garlic bread. My significant ordered the pork chops- he said it was the best he had ever had. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Should be medium well done steak in the photo. What do you think?

We were seated immediately and we ordered the $5 relish bar. I liked it. Very good cheese, olives, pretzels, eggs, celery, carrots, etc. well worth $5. I got their special pineapple old fashioned. It was very tasty. I ordered the baby back ribs which came with mashed potatoes (a tad small portion), salad, and warm bread. The ribs were very tender and delicious. Bread was good too. I wanted more mashed potatoes. Wife got salmon which she enjoyed as well. I got a free slice of carrot cake for my birthday, which was nice. Cake was fair at best. I would return to this supper club if I'm ever near Germantown again. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. It's a nice quiet setting even though it was getting crowded as the evening went on.

We started with a round of drinks, cheese curds, and the complimentary bread and were off to a good start. The drinks were good and the bread was a classic hot supper club bread. A few of us opted for the $5 relish tray and we all felt like that was a waste of money. Maybe $5 a table would be more reasonable? The deviled eggs were what we looked forward to the most but they had zero flavor. There was only one type of breadstick (large, sesame, hard to eat) which was also a bummer. I got the chicken dumpling soup and that only had one piece of chicken and one dumpling. Very bland. For my meal I had the salmon which sounded amazing on the menu, but I was so disappointed. The mushroom/spinach combo was soo salty that it was inedible, the salmon was also incredibly salty with no other flavor at all. I ate about half and gave up. The risotto is another thing I looked forward to and it was also flavorless. Others in my group had the halibut, crab cakes, beef pasta, and a salad. It seemed like all meals lacked overall flavor and interest. Our very sweet waitress did kindly bring my nephew a chocolate cake slice to celebrate his birthday which was unexpected and generous, Based on all the other reviews, I hope that we just got an off night. But based on the food we ate we would likely not return.

Unfortunately, this second dinner was even worse than the first. The rice was undercooked, the short ribs were dry, and the scallops were gritty. I realize that, for some people, the Buy One, Get One promotion is a big draw. However, I suspect that the menu prices are inflated to offset the BOGO savings, so it doesn't end up being much of an actual benefit. My wish is that they would focus on improving the quality and consistency of the food and charge prices that appropriately cover their costs while still allowing them to make a profit. I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon, which is sad because there is so much to like about the location and atmosphere.

The staff let us know they'd put us in a quieter area, due to my grandma, but unfortunately that didn't end up happening. I'll say though, we arrived to a packed restaurant at 5:45pm and by 8pm the place was pretty cleared out! Seems most popular for a happy hour and early super-type crowd. I'd been here once before but this was my first time dining in for food, so I was excited to try out their menu. They offer a hell of a deal for buy-one-get-one entrees! Note their entrees are upwards of $30-50 on average, so if you take this deal you're saving a pretty penny. Here you'll find all of the meat and seafood options to try. In the end I landed on the shrimp & scallop stir fry and boy was it good. Scallops were cooked just right and the flavor was on point. I also had to of course try my husband's steak and it was fantastic. Also fantastic was our server, Shaun. He took wonderful care of our table, and even gave us a great rundown of the entire dessert tray. He knew his stuff! We ended up ordering a handful of sweet treats to end the evening. All in all, this place should be on everyone's list to try!

Great place for a special occasion, but they don't hit it out of the ballpark every time...maybe 4 out of 5 (hence 4 stars). The food at Palmer's has always been very good. My wife and I have only ever had steak here as entrees. My go to is a med-rare ribeye and my wife always goes with a mid-well filet butterflied (I know, I know...shaking my head as I type that). They also have a really good tomato and fresh mozzarella salad that is a great starter (the balsamic is what makes it stand out). Slight challenge noted in #3 1. The Vibe & decor was Nostalgic 1980s Wisconsin supper club vibe with Christmas lights, mirrored walls, and a small vintage bar. Being seated at the bar first was a treat because I got to see all the quality drink ingredients and had a front row to the live music. 2. The Drinks Excellent, high-quality cocktails with house made mixers instead of bottled stuff. The Hennessy Sidecar and Tiramisu Martini were both amazing! 3. The Food My husband ordered a Ribeye & Fries. He said it was the perfect medium, delicious, and had a good crust. His steak fries were piping hot and good! We shared them. I opted to get two appetizers instead of an entree which meant no salad unless I wanted to pay an up charge. I decided on the crab mac & cheese. It was flavorful and creamy. It had real crab meat folded directly into the cheese sauce instead of lump crab thrown on top like other Steakhouses Crab Cakes-Hate to say it but I was very disappointed. They were full of flour filler, there was not a lump of crab to find. I would be surprised if they're even made in house. Looked nothing the image that led to me ordering them. They had so much flour in them that they stuck to the roof of my mouth. Reminded me of Pick N Save's 5/$5 crab cakes from their meat department. 4.Service & Hospitality was top tier. The waitress was kind and attentive. She noticed the crab cakes were barely touched & when I expressed dissatisfaction with them she had them removed from our bill without any hesitation or pushback. Despite the crab cake challenge, the incredible drinks, great steak, nostalgic atmosphere, and stellar service made for a wonderful night out. So, to answer your question... Yes, we will absolutely be back!

Came here with my brother for breakfast. Food: I'm not very traditional when it comes to breakfast, so I like a menu that has a few interesting items. I found several great choices on this menu and decided on the Avocado Morning Benedict. I find that hollandaise sauce can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, so I asked for it on the side. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. Everything was hot, the portions were generous, and the food was nicely seasoned. The eggs were cooked over easy, with the yolks still runny. The avocado and spinach were fresh and served on a toasted English muffin that was nicely buttered. It was an excellent choice. The accompanying American fries got an upgrade with cheese and fried onions. Absolutely delicious! This will probably be my go-to breakfast when I return. Service: We got there right when they opened at 7 a.m. There were already a few other tables seated when we arrived. The service was super friendly and efficient. We needed some time with the menu, along with some necessary small talk, and our server checked back a couple of times without ever making us feel rushed. It was a very relaxed meal. Atmosphere: With the log exterior and large front porch, my first thought was Cracker Barrel. The inside, however, feels a bit more upscale than CB. The interior is nicely furnished, with plenty of booths and tables. There are also tables outside on the porch if you'd rather sit outdoors. The overall design has a country feel and makes for a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a place I'd return to.
