I was so glad to finally try the new location and it's a vast improvement over the last restaurant that was here! The inside is clean and spacious with just a touch of homey decor. Perfect for a diner! We were seated and greeted immediately by a server who took our drink order and handed us menus. I ordered the German Omelette with coffee and wheat toast. The food was delicious and made fresh to order. Our drinks were never empty and the servers were kind and attentive. My wife suggested going here for a late lunch/early dinner and said the prices were good. Apparently, the prices were good for breakfast and the food was fresh/fresh-cooked. Lunch seemed to be of the canned and frozen variety and just kinda meh at that? Service was ok. It was super busy when we went as well. I think I'd go back for breakfast to try them out then. I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times with different groups of friends. Everyone that I bring all of us enjoy the food. The service is impeccable, they are always walking around asking if you need anything or coffee. Your cup is never empty at this restaurant. The food is delicious and the biscuits and gravy full portion is huge. It is enough for two people. Our orders have all came out correct. This restaurant is very reasonable priced . First time at Johnny's with coworkers. The service was speedy, the waitresses were very attentive with checking in to see if more drinks were needed. The food was home cooked vibes. First time visiting the new location and noted the layout is very similar to the old establishment that occupied the spot, Mia's. Similar to Johnny's old location, they have a combination of tables, booths and bar seating but less cramped. Since I was alone on this visit, I took a seat at the bar and order one of their breakfast specials for $8.50. The special I selected included two eggs, four strips of bacon or sausage links, hash browns and toast. I'm a pretty simple guy and that's how I like my breakfasts, simple but tasty. The plate was delivered and looked awesome; it could have been a picture on the front of the menu. The two over medium eggs where cooked perfect with a nice creamy yolk. While everything looked great, the taste lacked flavor. The sausage was very mild and missed the consistency of a good sausage where the skin snaps. The hash browns looked like they should have a crispness to them, but it was missing and there was no potato taste. The rye toast was ordinary and I found that I was charged an upcharge of $0.50. When I got home, I looked up their menu and it does mention there is an upcharge for the rye and I must have missed it prior to ordering. Added cost for a nice crusty artisan rye, heck yeah but not this stuff. I was hopeful this could become my "greasy spoon" go to, but it failed in this attempt. I'll try again in the future and see if improvements are made. I understand operational and food costs have been escalating but seasoning the food is cheap and to spend $9.59 (after tax) for a very pedestrian breakfast is disheartening. Come on O-town, we can do better. read more

I always give restaurants three tries before posting. This restaurant is probably one of the best in Orlando all three times, prices, are great, service is unbelievably good. Your coffee, or beverage will never be empty. The place has to be one of the cleanest restaurants I've been in. The quality of the food and the value is too good to be true. This place has some of the best food at the best prices I've seen anywhere around Orlando. They really take pride in what they do. I will never understand how people rate other restaurants with so many stars. I guess they've never tried johnny's once you try johnny's. You will rate the other restaurants with a F. Friendly efficient service, terrific food, reasonable prices. My wife has been searching throughout Orlando for crispy corned beef hash, and she finally found it at Johnny's! The veggie omelet with crisp hash browns was perfect -- filled with lots of mushrooms. There was plenty of room and easy access for my wheelchair bound mother-in-law. Beware of the customers I got chased out of there before I could finish my breakfast by a hostile, political-zealot fellow customer who picked on me while I was sitting at the counter trying to mind my own business, and then threatened to fight me in the parking lot when I replied to his profane insults. He obviously is a regular--with some pull--because the waitresses asked him by name to settle down, but could not stop him; and then, when they rang me out at the register (for a meal I could not finish,) they apologized to me as if they've seen this before. read more

Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday and we were quickly seated. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and they were often rotating making sure that coffee was filled and nothing was missed. There were two downsides, the air was blasting at us against the wall where we sat and we were freezing the entire time even while wearing long sleeves, it was rainy and chilly on Sunday. I am often cold so I moved to the side were the vent wasn't as strong and my partner sat where it faced, he is not easily cold and even he was ready to eat and leave quickly because he was uncomfortable. I usually struggle to finish my meals but the portion size was much smaller than expected even though it is the largest breakfast platter, so I was able to finish my meal without hesitation but this left my him wanting more as he is used to more food from diners. The French toast and pancakes were small but tasty. Overall a great experience and will be returning but will be more cautious of where to sit and might order extra sides. It is a cute location to visit and great pricing so I do recommend it. read more

I went to Johnny's Diner Sunday morning with a total of party of 6. We came around 9:30 and were seated immediately. It was already packed and we seemed lucky to get a table as there was a wait a little later. The servers were attentive and food came out fast. They came around often asking for refills. Food was fresh and reasonable price as well. I had the breakfast combo which included two eggs, two blueberry pancakes and two bacon strips. I'm vegetarian and I asked to substitute the bacon strips for hash browns and there was an up charge which I found odd because if you're substituting for non meat items it should just be a swap to accommodate vegetarians. I hope they are more mindful of vegetarians and in the future don't charge to swap out the protein. I also didn't see iced coffee on the menu which I enjoy. They gave out regular creamer and I asked for flavored and they did bring out French vanilla. They give maple syrup and butter for the pancakes in packets vs a jar of maple syrup.
