I am a huge burger fan so of course I've been to all the local burger joints in my area. I'd say John's cheeseburger is the best. I don't know what they use for their spread but it taste way better than Paul's Place and Athenians. Their prices are fair as well as their portions. Since the remodel the inside is so nice!!! Highly disappointed!!! We've been coming here for years. Their sign reads that they're open till 9 PM. However, we arrived at 8:15 PM on Saturday, July 20th and they looked closed. All the chairs were on the tables and we can tell that the air was off. Hopefully, the employees just had a busy day and they ran out of food. If not, may need to consider going elsewhere. I've only eaten here twice. Each experience was great! My first time I order the Double Cheeseburger combo - very large. My second time I ordered a Cheeseburger combo - perfect size. Just an FYI - all hamburgers come with relish (I hate relish with a passion). All the employees are very kind and attentive. Great for breakfast and lunch! We go for their great breakfasts on the weekend with the family. Lunch gets kinda busy but the food is totally worth it! Lots of seating for small and large parties. The tables are easy too rearrange to fit your needs. Best thick french fries around! read more

I've had my last "on again, off again" relationship with John's here in Cypress. I used to work right over there :::pointing:::: and was a frequent customer. But out of every few meals, I ended up feeling not so bueno. The pricing is very good on many of their meal specials ($7.95) for a main course, soup or salad, a roll, and vegetables. The staff here is awesome, kind, courteous, prompt, and the restaurant is clean. But, when I'm up part of the night "on again, off again" with tummy problems, I can't give this place more than a "meh." What I had was pretty standard fare: chicken fried steak, mashed, green beans w tomato, roll, and chicken and rice soup. It passed the smell and taste test. But, being the operative word, something was off. So, for me, no more visits to this John's Charburgers. read more

Johns is a solid burger joint trying to be a Mexican/diner/Greek restaurant. It's been there for years, although has recently undergone a rennovation. It is also sporting one of those nifty Coca Cola Freestyle machines now. It is clean, and the service is very good. It is an order at the counter establishment, then take a number and find a seat. The food runners bring you your order, and are quick to ask If you need anything else, and offer to refill your beverages. The food is a solid three stars, and I will admit that I usually order the same thing, because a club sandwich is a pretty safe bet. So it's not a place that I would drive across the county for, if you find yourself in the area, and hungry, it is a solid option. read more

I didn't expect it to be good at all but it was. It's surprising how much is on the menu. Just a burger and fries for me and it was good. Service is really great. they keep coming over to take your cup back for refills. They also want to talk to you and make sure you enjoy your meal. Where do they find these nice people? Apparently good help is possible to find. Or maybe they hired all of them. John's is more of a burger style joint than a sit down dining experience and I am happy about that. After a much anticipated remodeling of the place. My wife and I went there this evening. When we opened the door we were startled at the place. I do not know who sold the owner a bill of goods at the remodel but it looks TERRIBLE and not real functional either! We used to go there all the time and MOST of the clientele seemed to be seniors. We DO NOT like to sit in HIGH chairs and HIGH tables! At least we do not like it! They have a TON of now open and unused space in the middle the place! What ever happened to comfortable window booths? None seemed in evidence this evening! We left without even trying the food.. If I wanna stand to eat I will go to a fast food joint! Mmmmmmm...that's a tasty burger. I know it sounds like a line from "Pulp Fiction," but that's what I love about John's. Their hamburgers are soooo good. For $4.95, you can get the John's special, 1/4 pound burger, med fries and a med coke. It's a little extra if you want cheese. The burger comes on a large sesame bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles and an awesome burger sauce. I don't know what they put in the sauce, but it's the perfect blend of ketchup, thousand island, crack or whatever it is they put in there that hooks you. John's also serves dinner plates such as ham steak, fried chicken, gyros, pork chops and a variety of mexican plates. They also make a full line of breakfast dishes. The diner is super clean and has a lot of booths. When I go, I always see families and it's usually really packed at lunch and Sat., Sun. breakfast times. So if you're in the Cypress area and want a change from the fast food cycle, give John's a try. read more

Stopped in while in the area working and the first thing I noticed is how clean the place is. The second thing I noticed is their massive menu and then finally the bald guys chomping down on their lunch with their side arms. I can see why the boys in blue like this spot. I had to try their staple, cheeseburger fries and a drink. The burger was good but their fries were excellent. They were so fresh and tasty. John's is one of those places in your neighborhood that you always pass by and think, "I need to try that place some time." Well, if you're in the area, then follow through with that thought. It's a typical greasy spoon with an extensive menu ranging from Mexican to American to Greek-style dishes, but all are prepared quickly and served with a smile. Have never been disappointed with any of the menu items ranging from breakfast to dessert and just regular good 'ol combos of burgers, fries, and a soda. I've been to John's half a dozen times in the 10 years I've lived in Cypress, but that's because I don't eat out a lot. But today I had the breakfast quesadilla, which is so huge and inexpensive, I'm coming back soon to sample more of the menu. It's served with a small amount of a green chile salsa, which gave a bright edge to the dish. It's a tiny complaint, but the quesadilla has little pieces of sausage in it and they kept falling out. The sausage was savory, not spicy. Recommended. My friend and I sat a chatted in a booth for over an hour and so we left a small tip, mostly because a server brings the food after you order and offers drink refills. read more

I have been oging to John's for years now. My favorite dish is their Philly Cheesesteak Salad. It is Titanic and will make you happy. I ocassionally get teh Southwestern Salad too just to mix things up. However their breakfast is spectacular, and their lunches are really good too. So far there hasn't been anything on the menu I have been unhappy with. The food comes quick, the servers are attentive, and it's not expensive at all for what you get. The only caveat, and this has been something that has always bugged me since I've been going there is they don't take credit cards, only cash. There is an ATM but it charges $2-$3 just for the pleasure. If they took cards, I would be eating there much more often read more

However, they forgot the cheese, and the quality of the patty was just OK, not much flavor as it was a typical grind that was previously frozen. There is a male employee who works in back kitchen who never works. While all other employees work hard this male employee is always goofing off. He sits at dining room tables or sitting outside back kitchen door playing with his phone. Always between 3pm to 5pm Fridays Nov 26. Especially when boss is not around. We can eat until stuffed and have leftovers to take home for $30 for a family of 5. What a deal! The food is diner favorites but some surprisingly quality items.
