3rd time I've been here and usually I would give it 4 stars. This time I came to a corporate event and had a concern. Journey is the restaurant venue connected to the Golf Course and the Casino. Most everything is very fresh and nicely presented. I helped myself to the hot plates (Pulled Pork, Salmon, Chicken) and just after the salad bar they had poke, which is fresh tuna that's season but eaten raw. They looked elegant in these tiny wine cups, but they were made of plastic, not glass. I'm guessing it was an oversight, but poke should be chilled at the very least. On a warm day and in plastic cup (not on ice) was something they should rethink. Like I said, I would usually give them 4 stars but thought I should let you know. read more

Played course once, Friday 6/30. Was a good value at the twilight rate, but prime time green fees are too high in my opinion. Difficult but fun layout. White tees recommended for bogey golfers. I would play it again (at twilight rate). Pros - Spectacular views from several elevated tee boxes. - Fun layout, lots of true doglegs, elevated tees, water features. - High-tech touch screens in carts, allowing you to find distance to any target. - Excellent course conditions; fairways were in very good shape. - Exceptionally comfortable golf carts. Cons - NO WATER COOLERS ON THE COURSE!! Before the round they put two small bottles of water in half-melted ice in the cooler on the cart, and last time we saw drink cart was around 5th hole, never saw it again. Advice to players: before you tee off, take six or eight more waters, and more ice, from the coolers by the snack shack. Then replenish ice and waters at the turn. Advice to Pechanga - put a few coolers out there! - Carts sometimes stop working in areas that are clearly drivable, including areas that are clearly marked for cart traffic. Have to put car in reverse and back up until it thinks you're back into proper area. - No footbridge over creek on #13. If your ball is on left side of creek (as mine was) there's no obvious way to get to it. You have to be pretty agile to hop over and back via the rocks. This is a very unsafe condition, they should put in a least one footbridge before someone gets hurt there. Nits - Extremely windy. Nothing they can do about this, just be advised and play accordingly. - Very hard to tell the difference between silver and white tee markers, they look pretty much identical. Obviously whites are the next ones after the black but it would be easier if they had more distinct colors. - Wouldn't let us drive cart into parking lot after the round. Had to lug clubs uphill to the lot. - Funky vertical scorecard; recommend the standard horizontal layout. read more

One of the nicest courses in Socal. You really need to play this course. It is priced as a nice course for if you buy a 12 round package with a few buddies it works out to be $75 a round and a great value at the price. The best $75 course you will ever play. We have play Journey 6 times now and the course terrific on all areas. The people, challenge, the fairways and green, the carts. Nice job folks. read more

Played the course today and was impressed with the layout and the atmosphere. First class amenities and the employees were all very helpful and professional. The course is beautiful, the only drawback is the distance between several greens and the next tee exceeds 200 yards. If you're looking for photo ops, this is your course. read more

Came here for breakfast, although we weren't helped right away with our drinks, etc. someone eventually took care of us and made sure we were all good, and apologized and was very nice. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was nothing less than absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the waffle with fruit on tap and he said it was extremely tasty and loved the whip cream on top. Also, the tea was very very good. Definitely recommend, definitely will be coming back again sometime. read more

Started our day off minus two ride-alongs since they don't allow ride alongs which we were willing to pay for. I mentioned other resorts allowed ride-alongs for a fee and The "golf pro at the register thought it best to think and say, "well not at our level do we allow ride alongs", basically he thought that other resorts were beneath Pechanga, the course was decent minus one hole with a temporary green and some patchy dead spots. The layout offers some challenges but overall landing spots are much safer than they appear when on the tee box, trust your distances and markers and you should be fine. BTW if a customer is willing to pay full price for ride alongs and you end up with no additional wear and tear to your golf course I feel like it would be worth it to your resort. Or be willing to offer something else besides a direct no. Hospitality at a resort is about finding solutions not saying no, well at least at the Level I've experienced elsewhere. read more

Loved it! Had Sunday brunch recently and couldn't have been more pleased. The menu was well planned with something for all but not too much. I was on vacation in Temecula and had an available day to play golf. My 11 week pregnant wife was going to ride along with me and enjoy the beautiful course and landscape. We had a delicious breakfast at the course and then headed out. This is an amazing golf experience from clubhouse on! The course is meticulous. Very challenging but the views cannot be beat! The front nine played a bit longer than we expected and we decided to call it quits at the turn. The clubhouse was more than accommodating and handled the situation completely professionally. I can't begin to explain how impressed we were with the entire organization, from John at the clubhouse to bob the starter. Top notch organization from start to end! Can't wait to return!! read more

We stayed at the Pechanga RV Resort where someone recommended to try breakfast at Journeys. What a wonderful place to have breakfast and get away from the noise of the casino. The view of the golf course is beautiful. We had a nice relaxing Sunday breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and service was great! We will definitely return to try more thing on the menu and enjoy the beautiful view. read more

You really can't beat this course! Its in beautiful shape and perfectly manicured. Amazing views and very friendly service. The carts have giant GPS screens and have super comfy custom upholstery. The course is extremely challenging with huge elevation changes and strong winds. Not for beginners but incredibly fun. Make sure to bring some extra balls. The course itself is pretty nice and challenging but the staff wrangling you into the golf cart with a complete stranger and someone that you just don't gel with was horrible. Painfully long round. Even if we didn't have to wait on every shot it still would have taken 5 hours. They need rest areas on some of the drives between greens and tee boxes. Ridiculous. BEAUTIFUL course! Well kept and the service is phenomenal. The greens are fast, fairway and roughs are lush. The scenery is breath taking! Although I've only been playing for 3 months, I shot a 115, but lost 10 balls. I've heard stories of people losing more balls so I felt I did ok staying on the fairway for the most part. Great course, beautiful views. The course is in awesome shape. We played earlier in the year when it was cart path only and wow what a difference! I recommend bringing a few extra sleeve of balls as the ponds and bushes sucked some of ours down. There is balls available for purchase from the shop but as expected will cost you a pretty penny. Both cart girls were lovely and personable and took great care of our group all 5 hours we played. Enjoyed a awesome lunch and fun convo from the snack bar from Chef Jamie and the sweet young lady working the register Preyopa. Awesome golf staff, awesome time. Never unimpressed!! read more

Father's Day Brunch was disappointing. We had heard very good things about Journey's End at the Pechanga Resort and Casino by searching through the reviews posted. I reserved a table for 5 of us for Father's Day Brunch Buffet yesterday at 1:15 pm. We were greeted at the hostess area and then seated. The seating area was about 1/2 full as this was towards the end of the service. To my surprise the 5 of us were seated at a table for 10 and in the very back of the restaurant . I was a bit taken aback, but figured it was going to be busy with other reservations and walk-ins. Our waiter did come by to take our drink order and I was surprised that our ice tea's arrived with very little ice and with a uncovered straw already in the drink. I will say the food was very good in general and there was a nice selection of different types of food to choose from. The desserts were beautiful also. One thing I found totally unacceptable was that our waiter was not attentive at all. We had plates stacking up on our table that should have been cleared more quickly. We also had to ask for refills on the ice tea more than once. I did see a manager/supervisor close by, but his back was turned to us as well. I had to get up and flag someone down to help. If it was busier and the wait staff was in the weeds I would have understood, but when they tack on a 20% service charge on your per person price of $39 and we don't even get basic service, it is totally unacceptable. We all drove from several hours away to enjoy a Father's Day Brunch together in a beautiful setting, but all of us left very disappointed. We will not return. read more

Just played the "Journey" golf course at Pechanga.. I played the winter time twilight rate of $65 which starts after 12pm. The course is very challenging and VERY well maintained with perfectly mowed fairways and smooth, quick greens. The course has a lot of elevation change and is very "Target" oriented, making you really think through your shots. The clubhouse is extremely nice - overall making this course worth the drive out to Pechanga. For this price this is the best golf value I have found in southern California. Just call before you make plans to make sure they haven't recently punched the greens. read more

First off stunningly gorgeous course in immaculate shape! However, we booked through Golf Pass/Golf Now and when we got there, it was pouring down rain. The guy at the pro shop said that they wouldn't give us `a rain check and that they weren't closing the course , so we couldn't get a refund from GOLF Now. So. We started playing and the rain continued raining harder. Couldn't hold the golf clubs it was so wet, water pooling on some of the greens, so you couldn't put, sand traps had standing water. After 8 holes we were drenched, cold, and the rain was coming harder. So, we gave up and went back to the pro shop. The guy at the pro shop said tough luck, no rain checks, or refunds.. wasn't the level of customer service you would expect at a high end course. Every course I have ever played at would have not sent you out in those conditions and would have given you a rain check. To bad, it was a gorgeous course, or so it appeared through the sheets of rain!! Very disappointing!!! read more

What an amazing course. Beautiful and serene. Challenging, but fair. Except the greens. Greens always break just a little more than you think. So give it an extra inch of break and speed than you normally would. OB areas are for lost balls. Don't go looking for it. OB areas are full of prickly plants, rattlesnakes, and I saw a coyote walking around. GPS on carts were state of the art. I haven't seen any like it, very nice. It plays a video of each hole as you drive to it. The views from some of the elevated tee boxes are amazing, as you can see for miles and miles. A great place to play. I played at twilight for 1/2 price of typical rates at 3:06 pm as a single and finished at 5:45 pm. Not many people are out there and even playing 2 balls at time, I flew through the course. There are good restaurants in the casino there, one good one that popped on the GPS was an italian spot called Paisano's ;) Bring extra balls here, OB will steal them as well as water here and there, as well as those elevated tee shots are not toward wide fairways. read more

Love the food. Its great cause there is no kids running around. Its quiet! relaxing. I have seen a kid or so. But there are behaved. its only once in a blue moon. The food is very good, turkey burger I recommed. ahi tuna sandwich is awsome. Waffle fries is to die for. They have breakfast and lunch only. Get there before 3:00 last meal of the day. Regular buger's are very good too. I dont golf but I love to see the View and eat in a quiet atmosphere. Sports TV's all around which I dont care but if you have to know the score of golfing or what ever sports its there. $10.00 til 18.00 a plate, but its all worth it. Had breakfast here this morning with a good friend. He had the Huevos Rancheros with a side of bacon, which he completely devoured. I chose the 3 item egg beaters omelet with mushrooms, tomatoes and cheddar. I selected the fresh fruit instead of breakfast potatoes and an English muffin. They added two silver dollar hotcakes which was a nice surprise. My only disappointment was that the tomato filling were microscopic in size and quantity. Come on chef, put some tomatoes in my omelet as ordered! Otherwise everything was superb. Great waiter, super friendly and attentive. Beautiful cafe, spectacular views of the golf course and surrounding mountains! Plan to return soon, I've heard their burgers are excellent. Don't think I'd ever go back to the Pechanga casino cafe, there's no comparison whatsoever. It's been disappointing the last few visits. The golf course cafe is light years better!! read more

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Journey and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waitress was Kaylyn. She was a delight. Our dinner was excellent. We arrived a few minutes early and warmed ourselves around the indoor fire pit. For 19.00 dinner included turkey, stuffing, beans and some awesome sweet potato/mashed potato combo. Dessert was extra and awesome. My only complaint was they charged for soda refills and we were not told in advance it would be an additional charge. As a member of our group finished his coffee we moved back to the fire pit so they could clear our table and enjoy their own Thanksgiving dinners. The bread pudding was to die for. We have dined here many times and have never been disappointed. read more

The Journey, you'll know why they call it that. It's a long day playing this track. It's kinda a stupid layout. And the people who work there are snobs. It's not worth the rate....at all. Great practice areas though. For the price, spend a little more and go play Torrey Pine North, pretty much the same price. This track is overrated and overpriced. Not worth it. read more

Would really have enjoyed this course but for the fact that we had to keep our carts on path due to a rainstorm 3 days earlier. Somewhat puzzling since the fairways were dry and in great shape. After eight holes, however, we pooped out. Too much walking for this 81-year-old who's used to riding on fairways. Another foursome partner was nursing a foot injury and extra hiking proved too much. We challenged the unfair cartson-path rule and were given a raincheck. Loved the layout. Too bad we had to deal with an unnecessary rule. Plan to return, however, and play a whole round. read more

I played here on a Sunday with 7 buddies using an UnderPar coupon for unlimited golf. The course was beautiful and in great shape, but the golf staff was terrible. I have played well over 250 golf courses in my life from the best to the worst, and I have never experienced anything like what happened the day we played. When I arrived in the morning, I was putting my shoes on in the parking lot and the cart attendant came out and asked if he could take my clubs. I said sure, thanks. Then he saw I had a cooler in my trunk and asked if he could take that too, so again I sure. I go inside to the pro shop to check in and met Kevin, who seemed less than happy to see us. He wasn't rude but not pleasant or friendly at all. After checking in I went out to the cart area to get my clubs and head to the range to warm up. Our bags were on carts ready to go but my cooler was missing. I asked the kid who took it where my cooler was, and he said its in the pro shop office, that there was beer in it and they don't allow outside alcohol. I asked how he knew there was beer inside and he said that he looked. I looked at my friends shocked and said why didn't you just say so in the parking lot instead of taking it and then confiscating it. He had no answer. So I went back into the pro shop and told Kevin that my cooler was there somewhere and I wanted it back. He replied you can have it back after your round. I said I had other things in there I needed and he said, there is nothing in there you need and you can't have it back. I said there was an apple and snacks too and I wanted them and would put the cooler back in the car. He said again in a very rude tone, nope you can't have it back until after the round. I was dumbfounded! Instead of having a big argument over a cooler and risk getting kicked off the property I let it go. Once on the course, the cart girl was non-existent for the first 7 holes, once she did arrive she was nice but the beer selection was awful, which she acknowledged. If you like water beer such as Coors Lite and Bud Light you're in luck,the premium beer was Newcastle. Once we finished our 1st round we wanted to play a 2nd in the afternoon. Keven told us to check back with him at 1:50 that at this time it was open but if someone else (I assume meaning a new paying customer) booked the tee time then they would bump us. Fortunately that didn't happen and we teed off at 1:50 for our second round, but not before having more trouble with the golf staff. We wanted to play from the Copper "back" tees on this round. The starter immediately wanted to know why and what our handicaps were. I told him we were all single digit players and he said "there is a big difference between a 2 and a 9 handicap" . I explained to him we were all around 5-6. He was not happy and said we would not have fun and that we had to keep up or else. I explained we would be just fine and knew how to keep the pace of play. Two of our friends didn't play again so we only had 6 players and we went out as 2 threesomes. They put a single out last minute just before we teed off which was fine. As our 1st group was teeing off I see the clubhouse manager come out of the clubhouse and watch us hit our tee shots on #1 (the steps from the clubhouse are right a the base back tee the 1st. He seemed very interested and not happy, I presume to make sure we could play good enough, but didn't say anything, During our second round we got backup up on the 6th tee box, as our 1st group was waiting for the single they put out! There was nobody behind us so we figured if a single player couldn't play faster than a threesome, that we would just play the rest of the round as a six-some, which we did. Not only did we keep up we played through another foursome at the turn, A Korean group who look a bit shocked when they allowed us to play thought and we had 6 players. We assured them we they would not wait for us and they didn't, we left them in the dust. The course is great (not worth $250) but $80-$100 definitely, just beware of the grumpy staff. As for playing the Copper Tees (7200+yrds) it is not that difficult, and does not play near that long as many of the shots are way down hill and down wind. There was only one of two shots where a 220+ carry was needed but if you can do that it is not that tough. The bar and restaurant were great and the beer selection and staff were much better too! read more

My wife handles many Japanese tours so we decided to take a look at this golf course in case some tourists were interested. We haven't played here yet but walked as far as the first tee to see that it is a beautiful golf course. Disappointed because we asked the staff if we could see the driving ranged and they said we could not. Never really got a clear answer as to why. We felt a little unwelcome so we've been playing at and recommending Temecula Creek Inn down the street, which is a more easy going atmosphere. read more
