Seeking a quick stop on a road trip, we attempted a quick burger at a fast food chain known for burgers and root beer only to find diet root beer and they were out of beef patties? We picked up some food from J's and it took almost an hour to get our food. When we got our food home our order was completely wrong, we didn't feel like going back and waiting an hour to get the correct order so we ate what we got. The burgers were dry and over cooked, the chicken was rubbery like raw chicken and tasted like a dirty grill. read more

Awful service!!! They mess up our to go order every time and ruin our dinner because we have to eat half of it cold while they fix their mistakes. They shove onion rings in a bag and it becomes a mushy mess!! This place used to be good but it sucks now! They lost my business after this last awful experience. read more

Service was good, a bit slow but I believe fries are cooked when ordered, always hot and fresh. Ordered two combos with jack cheese. Got them with American cheese. No big deal, but the reason for a 3 star rating was the American cheese used. Imitation cheese, it doesn't melt properly when hot and kind of clumps on the meat. If you guys start using good cheese I will amend this rating to 5 stars. Don't cut corners with the quality of the food, a 5 cent savings on a piece of cheese could cost you a customer. We stood around waiting for a table for several minutes while staff seemed to ignore us. Finally, I approached the bar and basically cornered a server and asked if there was a hostess. She looked at me like a deer in the headlights. After getting our table, we waited at least another 10 minutes. Finally, one of the servers walked by us and looking over her shoulder asked if we wanted to order something. She continued walking and came back yet a few more minutes later to take our order. After 25 minutes, the waitress came back with food. Unfortunately, it wasn't ours. Meanwhile, the other waitress and bus boy walked behind the dumpster for a smoke. This gave me plenty of time to see all of the wonderful tattoos and piercings which could be found in abundance. After 30 minutes, the ice in my water is nearly melted. If this were Leo's Coney Island (see my review), we would have been done eating by now. Still no food. After 45 minutes, I've read all my email, sent out a few. This may the first time I ever stiff a waitress...but wait, I can't. We haven't even been served. At 48 minutes, I ask the bus boy who is returning from a second smoking break if they had forgotten us. He sends for the manager. The manager and the waitress then come to the table to convince me that they are no different than any other restaurant in Traverse City and that the kitchen is very small and they are very busy. Sorry, I'm not convinced. At 51 minutes, we are served. The food is fine. The waitress then disappears and we are stalked by the bus boy who stands over our shoulder as we finish our meals. Here is the problem. First, it's very clear that the restaurant is not equipped to accommodate the number of tables it has. Second problem is the management really doesn't know what a well managed restaurant looks like. read more

We stopped by to have lunch on the recommendation of a co-worker. First of all, it was freezing cold inside and we ended up sitting outside in the sunshine to just warm up. The girl taking our order spoke very little English and had to use a calculator to figure out change owed. Mexican music was blaring from the kitchen that was very annoying. Placed our order with no onion and both burgers were loaded with onions. The hamburger meat was good and the bun was delicious. We ordered one order of fries and it was more than enough for two. We might go back again to give it another try, but in n out still gets my vote. read more

This place is a booming business!! I mean great prices, accommodating staff, friendly atmosphere, they have a lot of great things going for them. Here's where my critiquing comes into play: the fries are the small julienned crispy friends, although they come in a great portion, mine and my family's were overlooked and I had the garlic fries which were pretty good minus the seasoning salt being a tad bit overpowering. My chicken strips were cooked to perfection and I was soooooo amazed and I know I'll go back for more chicken strips. The BBQ sauce was underwhelming. It missed that sweet and hickory side of the sauce. My parents loved the veggie burger and the double cheese burger, they did say well done and the burgers were a bit burnt but seasoned well. I will go back for their chicken strips and I'll try a burger and a milkshake next time I go. read more

Second time here . Was good. I asked for Medium Rare and thats what I got. Onion rings could've cooked a tad more. But over all tasty! I wanted to tip the cook, but apparently you have to put it in a jar so they can split it. I didn't want to tip the cashier. I handed the cook the tip and I over heard the cashier ask her "what was it, a five"? So I guess it was put in the jar anyway. Not happy with that part of it ..but food was good read more

Fries are cut fresh! Chocolate shakes are super chocolatey! Kids burgers are as big as adults lol! Burgers are awesome!

I've been here about 7-8 times now, both alone and with my kids. Have gotten food to go most times but have eaten in a couple. This place is the best deal in town for burgers. A combo of cheeseburger, fries, and soda is $7.00 out the door. The burgers are good sized and tasty and the serving of fries is big and good. It's not the most comfortable place around for dining in, but that goes with the price. Cushy booths downtown would mean higher prices. A couple of the cashiers seemed a bit clueless early on but staff seems to be settling in. And, happily, they seem to be getting busier all the time so they should be around a while. read more

Small hole-in-the-wall burger joint next to Takkens. By far the best price for a REAL burger in Paso. Small menu, mostly burgers & fries. I've visited twice and ordered a double cheeseburger each time, and they were both absolutely delicious. The service was good and they cooked the food fast. As of April 2016, the double cheeseburgers are only $4.85, about the same price as fast food but infinitely tastier. If you're looking for a real, hand pressed burger but don't want to spend a lot, this is the place. Will keep coming, and would recommend to anyone. read more

My review has more to do with the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant than the food itself. Sorry....but that's just me. If I am not comfortable when I walk in, I usually wont go back. The windows and front door were very dirty. I will admit we were there around 7:45 pm and perhaps those got cleaned after close up. Also, the floor was dirty, but again, perhaps that got clean afterwards. The music was awful. Too loud and it was not in "tune" so a LOT of static. Food: 4 stars. My cheeseburger was great, and my husband said his hamburger was very good as well. However, his fries were old and really dark looking (like old potatoes). Minus one star for that. Will we go back? Yes, I think so. I want to see if it looks better during the day time. read more
