Recently, I was working with a group of people and we all contributed towards the family pack at El Pollo Loco. It's been a minute or two since I had their chicken and it left me unimpressed. Why? Taste, texture, size maybe? What it did, however, is reinforce my preference for Juan Pollo, especially the consistency between locations. Came here two weeks ago and ordered some food. When I got home I realized that the half chicken meal that I ordered was incorrect and they gave me two small pieces of chicken instead. Obviously I wasn't happy about this but when I called in and spoke to the manager he made it right with his great customer service. He immediately apologized (genuinely at that) and offered to redo my entire order including the sides and everything and let me keep what I had already received. The food was super good too. I love this place. I just wish that they hired employees based on how hard they worked instead of the color of their skin. They only hire young Latinos, I applied for the job that is still posted in the window, they never called me. I'm guess it's because I'm blond and blue eyed. Stopped by out of hunger and a fighting will to survive. The name of this restaurant makes you think they've got all their eggs in Juan basket (hehe). But the flavor is missing on multiple levels. I ordered the simple 2 tacos deal off the menu. With the right amount of taco mastery a person could salvage the blandness of the tacos that I was given, but I came here to eat not to rescue my own taco. The service was nice and friendly and very fast. I wouldn't necessarily recommend coming here if the chicken used in theses tacos is any indication of the quality of chicken used in their other dishes. Juan Pollo is a great place to pick up whole roasted chickens cut into pieces fast. It is especially handy for parties. I find the way they season their chickens delicious and the service is acurate and prompt. The chicken is moist, tender and not greasy. Their pinto beans are also good, very authentic. The only thing I don't care for that they make is their potato salad. This is a chain and in my experience, there has not been much difference between locations. They are consistently good. ( I don't speak Spanish ) these two girls are making my burrito right in front of me you can see what's going on.
