Been coming here for years but lately their quality has gone down. Went in today and the chicken was so dry you couldn't even eat it.

I just bought a family pack which includes three large sides. I asked for one large potato salad and one large rice. I then asked to split my third side in half, also rice and salad. They've done it in the past but depends on who's working that day and their mood. Needless to say they refused to accommodate my request with no explanation. read more

Got food poisoning from eating old chicken. Walked in with a mask on and instantly got dirty looks and felt discriminated. Ordered the mini pak (whole chicken and 3sides) from menu. I was only given one small plastic container of salsa with meal. I requested an additional salsa for meal and was disappointed when told I would need to buy additional salsa cup.These are the most frustrating thing I find when going to restaurants and spending $20-30 bucks on food ( in this case a chicken) and staff being so cheap and unappreciative to your patronage would rather lose a customer than provide you extra condiments (salsa) that cost pennies. Got home and opened packaging and found three chicken legs and only one breast. Not sure how that happens but whatever. I won't be going back to that place. Don't get me wrong... food was delicious.... Just the poor service and lack of attention in packaging meal tells me something is not right with that particular store. Crispy, tasty, flavorful chicken always. There white is taken up a notch with tiny chopped green onions,pieces of shredded chicken! Their potato salad is always a hit at our house ,its a must. Pinto beans are average, they can work on them by giving them a more favorable taste ( add some chopped Serrano chiles and whole ones cooked in oil) that would be bomb! ****** Their salsa is good, but they need to give more than one per chicken. I eat here often and it's always good. This was a bit different I ordered for 80 people so I'm always a bit nervous for these types of events. I have to say EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT ON POINT. Chicken was excellent, potato salad was perfect and I'm not even fan of it, the rice was great again this was a large order so you could imagine one worries. I even had it delivered and they were right on time no delays and everyone loved it. It was my first event and ordering from here but I was not disappointed at all. I LOVE Juan Pollo. They have the best food at the best price. The beans and rice are my favorite sides. The rice literally melts in your mouth it is so moist. The chicken is amazing. I could eat it everyday. I actually would if they had more locations. The skin on chicken is the best I have ever had. The handmade flour tortillas and salsa add the perfect finishing touches to your meal. You can get a whole chicken, three sides, salsa, and tortillas for under $20.00. Hmmm first time here. I've been to another one of their places and I liked their chicken so I was happy to find this place close to our new home. Came in and the lady at the front counter wasn't exactly welcoming but not rude just straight to the point "what would you like". I'm fine with the lack of excitement on her part but then an elderly gentleman had finished eating and placed the tray with the plate and stuff from his meal on the register counter. The lady RUDELY pointed at the trash and loudly told him to throw it in the trash! THAT bothered me. Her tone and demeanor were unacceptable. We had Juan Pollo when attending a birthday party in La Puente recently and my kid loved it! She asked for a second piece and she's a pretty picky eater. I was happy to hear that it was from Juan Pollo because I knew we had one close to home. I decided to swing by this week and pick up Juan Pollo for dinner, I figured she liked the one from the Juan Pollo in La Puente, the one from LA Mirada will be just as good. Not quite! First of all you can't call and place an order over the phone for a regular family meal so its ready to pick up and go, which is fine but just inconvenient. What brought me to the two stars is the chicken. It was really dry! You're literally forcing the chicken to go down. My daughter took three bites and left it. The sides were decent but the chicken was a fail. Looks like I need to go to La Puente for good chicken! read more

I got 2 chicken soft tacos with corn tortilla (extra charge) and the tortilla came apart before putting any salsa. Chicken and salsa were good and so is the potato salad. Wish tacos had double tortilla to avoid them breaking apart. read more

This place use to be a great spot to get chicken and rice until last night. I had this most uncomfortable experience ever and not by the establishment but who they allowed in there . I had purchased a dinner and was waiting for my food and some man was allowed in. This establishment seems to have Knowledge of this customer for the cashier told me about him after I had an uncomfortable experience with this customer touching me inappropriately. The cashier informed me that he tends to harass her too . This place should protect their employees and their customers from feeling violated in a place where they go to simply pick up their food . Please do better for I do not want this customer to do this again to another person !!!! read more

Best customer service!!!! A shout out to Evelyn, great smile and natural engagement, not busy and was talking to her fellow associates when I entered but quickly made adjustment to ensure I was greeted immediately and taken care of. Just after I received my order a gentleman who worked there was at the door getting ready to start work I think, mind you I was still a good 8 feet from the door but he waited at the door so I could leave without touching the door...may not sound like big deal to i you but for me this showed the dedication of the staff to deliveR what I know to be excellent customer service. I ended up here by mistake. I looked up directions to a nearby pollo place with a similar name. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I purchased the whole chicken with 3 sides deal. The chicken had a good citrusy flavor and was moist. The potato salad was delicious. The beans were average frijoles de la olla. The white rice was a bit dry but it had good flavor. I remember loving Juan Pollo as a kid right here off of Valley View and Imperial. We were super stoked to see it reopen not too far from home! We got our usual (two whole chickens, large sides of rice and potato salad), but we ended up disappointed. The potato salad was dry and had way too much carrot. The rice was close to the original recipe, but it seemed way too sticky. Their tortillas are prepackaged, and I'm guessing they come frozen and they just stick em in a steamer. They all stuck together and were coming apart in pieces. The salsa was damn spicy, which was refreshing. We were just disappointed that a family favorite after so many years changed so much. We asked for the special that was advertised in the window, and were charged a different amount. Even the guy behind us was charged almost $10 more than the price up on the board. I'm super bummed that the joint isn't what it used to be. Maybe if we go back it'll be different and/or better. But it left a less than familiar impression like it used to. read more

We usually go to the La Habra location because we live in La Habra but decided to go to the new one in La Mirada. Turns out, the La Mirada location is a bit closer. We got the small family pack and it was as good as it always is. The chicken was moist and the skin was full of flavor. Does anyone know how they marinade their chicken?!?! BOMB! The beans and rice were great! I honestly am not a big fan of re-fried beans but these are delicious. Their potato salad is the best potato salad. And the salsa is so good! I love how they put carrots in it. We always get extra salsa too. We always take our order to go as the restaurants don't seem inviting or comfortable to be in (and there's beer at home) therefore only 4 stars is given. But the food is always good. Came in tonight and experienced an extended wait. Most people don't understand food service and understand sometimes you can get slammed at the worst times. This was one of those times. Why the 5 star rating you ask? Customer service and how they handled the issue. Manager handled all complaints in a professional manner and made sure to stuff some extra food into our box. A nice surprise when we got home and made the trip worth it. People were pretty fired up about the wait but again, handled extremely well. Bravo! read more

My first time to visit this food chain. I was enticed by the ads on their truck that says "The BEST Tasting CHICKEN" so I thought of giving it a try. Besides, I was hungry. The place was relatively clean. Restroom as well. There were only 2 customers by that time (4pm on a Friday). I told the cashier it was my first time and she offered me options. She was very friendly. I got the Lunch Special and the service was quick. The chicken looked appetizing and it had the roasted chicken skin just right and crispy the way I like them. However, it was too salty. The salsa was fine. Potato salad was ok. Their rice tasted very good. It was the only thing I liked best. It has chicken meat and spring onions in it. Everyone has different palettes and maybe this food chain is for Mexicans/Latinos but not for me. I guess El Pollo Loco is still better for me compared to this place. Called the store at 8:50 (was already on my way just wanted to make sure they were open) a girl answers the phone & i ask if they are still open, she said yes but that they close in 10 minutes. I said, "okay, so 9 pm right?" she says "yes". My dad and i got there at 8:55 & the door was shut. He started waving & the workers inside said "sorry closed". If you wanted to be off early you could have said, "sorry we're closing up early, we'll be closed before 9". I really feel like they closed up on purpose so that we wouldn't be able to go in :/ also if u check online it says they close at 9:30.. not 9. make sure y'all fix your time online as well, some people don't call ahead of time. read more

Not going to lie, it was pretty darn good! For $35 (coupons used), we got three whole chickens, large rice, medium beans and medium potato salad. I don't eat beans but wife said they were good. Chicken was great, rice was amazing and the potato salad was okay. Too mushy for me but that is personal preference. Will be back again and again! read more
