Husband and I were in the area and craving a good Mexican breakfast. Juanita's has a very extensive breakfast menu with tons to choose from- they have a wide variety of both Mexican and American options. My husband went with their chorizo breakfast burrito and I decided on their "Huevos Locos", which was potatoes, bell pepper, onion, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, and two eggs of your choice. I asked to sub the mushrooms for zucchini and they happily obliged. Juanita's serves complimentary refried beans with their chips and it is so delicious. They also have an amazing self-serve salsa bar with options for everyone. Our meals came hot and fresh. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband's breakfast burrito was massive! Dang this place was tasty! We were heading up the 101 on our way to Oregon and stopped off in Santa Rosa for lunch. What a nice little spot this turned out to be. I got a steak and eggs breakfast burrito which made me very happy because I love steak and eggs in a breakfast burrito. In the Bay Area, I've found most places that serve breakfast burritos only do chorizo, no other options. My husband got the shrimp tacos and is still raving about them. He says they're everything you want a shrimp tacos to be. We also loved the salsa bar. So many tasty salsas, we tried a bunch of them. The food was decently priced but the 2 beers we ordered actually doubled our bill, haha. I guess that's what you get for not asking the price of a beer before buying. Overall a great meal and if we are driving through again we will definitely seek them out again! read more

I don't know why I haven't written a review for Juanita's yet. We've been here a lot. And there are lots of great things about it. For one, they have great tortilla chips. I mean, really good! They're thick and warm when they come out, well seasoned and it comes with bean-cheese dip, right when you sit down. I think this says a lot about the people who run this restaurant. Thick, warm chips with bean-cheese dip when you sit down. They want to feed you, and they want to feed you good! And then, on top of that, they have a wonderful salsa bar. I like the verdes the best, but they have other tasty ones. And then, I love that they have a huge menu. I usually like to look at the whole menu when I go to a restaurant, to pinpoint on the most yummy thing on the menu. (I get food FOMO) But holy heck, I would be there forever if I read every menu item! This place is like a Mexican-American diner. They have Mexican food, they have American food, and the menu goes on and on. There are like... 10 types of breakfast burritos alone, and then another I dunno... 20+ other types of burritos you can get! What do you want between a big tortilla? They've got it for you. And it's not just about burritos. They have a full breakfast menu -- Mexican and American breakfast. They have dinner plates of all types. Menudo pretty much all the time, and other yummy specials like quesabirria on their board. So then, why four stars? They don't have the best carne asada, and considering carne asada is such a staple, I can't give them the full 5. But their carnitas and al pastor is good. I love their al pastor tacos plate - 3 tacos + rice and beans for like... $12.99 (last time I was there) - which is sooo much food for the value (nowadays at least). Other go-to's here for us are the breakfast burritos and nachos. (It is huge, with lots of cheese and fixin's) Service is always friendly and prompt. And at the end, they give you a yummy fried tortilla dessert. They're pretty great, so go check em out! read more

I've been here a few times over the years. I usually come for breakfast or lunch. They make a fantastic breakfast burrito. Today I stopped in for lunch and tried their carne en su jugo. Which is a soup that features steak, bacon and a beef / tomato broth, along with a little garlic, and cilantro flavors. This soup was fantastic! They serve it with lime and dried chiles that you can add to your liking. I did add some of the lime and chile and it kicked the heat up just a bit which I loved. Overall, my soup was fantastic, the service was great and I really enjoyed my lunch. Amazing tacos and price cannot be beaten. Free chips if you order more than 2 tacos, and their chips are fresh, warm, and crispy! Love their amazing salsa bar as well. The carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor were all flavorful and I can tell everything was freshly made to order. Would love to come back here again when I visit the area. Service was great too, no complaints! Parking can be a challenge since there's not many spots in their parking lot. There is a mall across the street though. read more

We waited an hour and 25 minutes to receive our food at lunch time today, with absolutely no explanation as to why. There were at least three cooks in the kitchen, so it's not like they were short-staffed because it's a small kitchen and was probably at capacity, and the restaurant was full, but if you can't handle full capacity, don't admit full capacity! When we finally got our food, it was so late that we asked them to just pack it up so we could bring it home and get the baby down for a nap. When we got home, we found out that they had forgotten the burrito we had ordered for the kids, so I had to scramble to make them food. I'm so disappointed and angry and won't be back. They compensated with a free horchata, but it wasn't even that good. So go at your own risk, I guess. read more

Juanita's Yelp ratings don't lie and everyone seems to know it. We ordered online through grubhub and our order was ready when we arrive at the scheduled time. The placed was packed with happy customers. A friendly staff member showed me where my order was waiting for me. The cocktail de Camarones was one of the best I've ever had. It was super fresh tasting with lots of shrimp and avocado. The order also came with chips and two types of homemade salsa, fresh limes and Tabasco packets. DELICIOUS! Pack jammed with flavor, eggs cooked perfectly, ham, amazing, everything about this burrito was exceptional. They grilled the outside of the flour tortilla which means a lot to me:) I also was able to take home some of their salsas on the side from their salsa bar. They have an extensive menu.. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I was looking at these reviews before I even went to their taco truck and everyone speaks so highly of the food so I decided to try it and the Carne Asada is absolutely disgusting. It was so cold flavorless and burnt probably the worst meat I've ever had from any type of restaurant. Hopefully the restaurant is better than the taco truck, but I would double check your food before leaving the taco truck just to make sure the temperature is correct and is to your liking and I have in the car so it's not like I drove far away and the food just got cold. read more

My fiancé and I tried this place for the first time. Started with FRESH squeezed orange juice mimosas and an iced tea. I can be picku about iced tea, this one was a hibiscus I think...sooo good! One thing that I loved about growing up in San Diego was being able to get a great Carne Asada burrito 24/7. Once I moved here 30 years ago, I discovered "burritos" here had fillers of rice and beans and not the San Diego style of burrito filled just with meat, guacamole & pico de gallo. At Juanita's, you can get that San Diego style burrito by ordering a "taco burrito" and requesting guacamole be added to the inside of it. When the burrito came out it was still huge, but just filled with the good stuff. I felt like I was at home in San Diego and showed my spouse, due to the heat of the meat, the guacamole will melt and provide some tasty juice as you get to the end of your burrito. Me and my boyfriend come here often, it's very underrated because there food is absolutely delicious it taste way better then any restaurants in Sebastopol road. It's a rather chilly October Friday 9:15am. Time for a hot, starchy and filling meal. Juanita's is the ticket. The room is packed with a lively crowd. The vibe is homey. The staff are all happy greeters with smiles. Fellow elite Yelper Barbara S. & I are seated immediately and asked what we want to drink. Carrot juice for her, big orange juice for me. We peruse the lengthy menu. The juices arrive in 4 minutes. They both are fresh made from real raw carrots and fresh squeezed oranges. My $6.50 large size is GIANT! (16 ounces). And it's the best pulpy OJ that I've tasted in ages. Barbara gets the huevos rancheros, I get the chile verde 3 egg omelette. I go to the salsa cart near the front door. Open the stainless steel top to find a dozen great looking salsas and some escabeches. I take little cups of pico de gallo, pickled onions, fresh radishes, salsa colorado and some super spicy salsa habanero. All made in house, all are legit. I taste them all before the food arrives. Yummy! The breakfast feast arrives. Our plates a big & loaded. My pork chile chunks inside the eggs is meaty, flavorful. Barbara says her medium over egg yolks are a little too runny for her liking. I say that's what the excellent moist corn tortillas are for, to mop up the goodness. We eat, we talk. I get full to bursting having again finished my plate down to the porcelain. (I have OCD and never leave food on my plate, a mental conditioning from my chiding parents). Barbara gives up after eating half of her food. Proclaims that she is stuffed. Verdict: This is my first ever visit. It's breakfast. It's one of the best restaurant morning meals I've eaten in years. I think that Juanita's is one of my new favorite Mexican semi-dive restaurants in all of Sonoma county. I plan to return soon. Total bill for the meal with tax was $38. A good value. read more

Stopped in for breakfast to finally check out Juanita's. The place was very busy and we were greeted instantly. Now, I have to say that I have driven by this restaurant for years and was never drawn in. The brightly colored building with the "specials" signs for tacos or breakfasts was now just too much to pass by any longer! The food here is good and plentiful. As much as I wanted to actually try my usual combo plate order, since it was breakfast time, I opted for Huevos Rancheros. This is an OK dish, however not my favorite, but I think that was because although I ordered "over medium" eggs, they were definately "sunny side up" when served to me. It comes with your choice of a side of either, rice, beans, or toast. I opted for black beans which were very good. Don't skip the salsa bar! Their salsa choices are amazing and all delicious, plus pickled onions and radishes too. As I watched all the beautiful plates of food come by, I vowed to come back and try my other favorite Mexican combo plates next time.
