Borderline bad. It's close to my work and so I've eaten here maybe a half dozen times and tried several different dishes. At this point, I'm just done with the place. The spring/egg rolls are filled with cabbage and nothing else. The fried rice is so bland I wondered whether it was just brown rice (no egg, even?). Most recently, maybe two weeks ago, I had a twice-cooked something or other. I honestly don't remember if it was tofu or chicken, but I do remember that the sauce was overly sweet and gummy. The corn egg drop soup is so standard issue it probably comes out of two cans, one for the corn and one for the egg drop. I think that they're catering to the locals who like their Chinese food really toned down in terms of authenticity and spice. One of, if not THE most under rated sushi spot in pikesville. Have come here several times and the sushi has been phenomenal every time! Every time I go I ask the young manager what dishes are best and he aways gives great recommendations on what they prepare best and what fish is the freshest. Crispy beef, scallion pancakes, duck, and salt and pepper shrimp are some of my favorite entrées and I'm a fan of all their sushi rolls! HORRIBLE customer service- ordered my dinner on XMAS at 4pm for a 7pm pick up. Arrived at 7pm to a 20 person wait outside and pure chaos- no organization and no orders ready..Tried calling from line only to have the phone picked up and then be disconnected ...FINALLY got our food at 8:15- toally unacceptable and absolutely no apology from the staff- Will never give them buisness again. read more

I can't speak to the quality of the food. But service? Non-existent. Apparently, they were slammed on Christmas. Fair enough. But answer your phone. We placed our order around 5:00 p.m. and stood in line for 45 minutes from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. It was completely disorganized. We must have called solidly for an hour to say "we are outside waiting in line. Is it ready?" Mostly a busy a signal. When they did pick up the phone, they would just hang up. At 7:15, 2+ hours later, we left. We will dispute the credit charge. It is just not reasonable to order carry out and have to wait 2 hours with no response. I don't live there anymore but in the 20 plus years I ordered from there I never had a bad meal and usually had it delivered. Sushi,pad Thai, orange chicken ,beef with broccoli,chefs salmon and others were always hot and good. it was our Sunday night go to meal and we miss it read more

Where do I begin. The two people that I went with are still sick. The seafood gumbo soup smelled like rotten dead fish. The entree was mediocre. The name says it all! Their portions r huge, delicious n satisfying. Four friends went out on a Sat nite for Chinese. We were all pleasantly surprised at the menu selections from sushi, Peking duck n steamed dumplings to shrimp in lobster sauce. We each started with soup n shared 2 appetizers. The best quality food ANYWHERE! The best spicy cabbage appetizer anywhere. Roast pork appetizer is also excellent-- can be a meal in itself if you mix in some white rice. BUT THE MAIN REASON TO COME HERE IS FOR THE DRY SHREDDED CRISPY BEEF dish. Only a handful of Chinese restaurants have this dish on the menu, and they never make it right. Jumbo makes it perfectly, and a HUGE portion served with schezuan string beans. Free hot tea and great crispy noodles and duck sauce. This time around at Jumbo Seafood I had a waitress that seemed to be having a bad day and decided that I would be her target. This is just my opinion of course. I wasn't greeted by this waitress, I was just asked what I wanted to order...( as if I was a bother to her ) and the rest of my meal I spent being ignored by this waitress. I kept having to ask the waiters there for things I needed; extra napkins, water, etc.. So toward the end of my meal, I asked to place a to go order, which was a separate order from my dine in meal. I explained to her not to put the bill together. She charges both orders on my card anyway! After I explained AGAIN, that it was a separate order and told I was paying for it on a different card, she didn't offer an apology or seem to show any concern of her mistake. I moved to Pikesville in October, and I spent a few months looking for some good Chinese cuisine where the shrimp was a good size and I could get some sushi. This place offers a nice size Mali, great seaweed salad and nice entrees. It has been my go-to for chinese, and everyone I take here loves it read more

I had driven by this place many times but had never thought about really checking it out until my husbands boss had recommended this place to us and I am so glad he did. When we arrived the place wasn't too busy but it seemed like they did a lot of take our orders. We were immediately seated and then brought out some kind of pita like chips along with two sauces for dipping. My husband and I then ordered our meals not knowing what the portions were like. I had the grilled salmon which came along with green beans and noodles. My husband had the Kung Pow Chicken and we ordered a side of green beans. The food took a little longer than we would have expected but when we got it we were not disappointed. The portions were large and the food was very flavorful. I had the Ginger Scallion sauce on my grilled salmon and it was delicious! I was quite happy that we had so much leftover we would be able to eat the food again! To top off our meals the restaurant brought us each a small cup of vanilla ice cream each and a fortune cookie. The cup of ice cream was very small but just enough to give you a little bit of sweet to end a wonderful dinner. Bee thought the prices were decent too especially considering the portions. The only reason I am not giving the restaurant a 5 is because we had really slow service while we waited for our food. The waiter had sat down to eat it looked like and although there was a woman that eventually filled our waters it seemed to take awhile. I really like most of the food at Jumbo, but they are clearly cutting costs now. Shrimp steamed dumplings, which used to have a big piece of shrimp in them, now have lots of tiny, nasty tasting "grass shrimp" in them. I used to love their Shu Mai and their steamed dumplings- now I dislike both. Their orange beef is often fatty & mushy, but the Crispy Beef here is delicious and has a very sweet, caramelized sauce that is the best I have ever had. Honestly, Jumbo Seafood is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. It is a smaller restaurant and the crowd is usually older Jewish folks, but so is the entire area. It is very simple and quaint but it will be packed to the brim on any given Sunday night. It is a great place to eat with the family just because the staff is so friendly and you usually run into someone you know there. What sets the place apart though is the food. Hands down the best spring rolls I've ever had. They are never oilly and come filled with shrimp and vegetables. The entrees read off the menu like at any other Chinese place, but the quality of food is far better with little grease and tons of flavor. My favorite dishes are the peking duck (wrap it in the pancake and put the sauce on it) and the ribs, yes ribs. Fall off the bone good and incredibly delicious. I've been coming to this restaurant for the last 3 years and will continue doing so. Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

I give Jumbo Seafood 4 stars because they have the best Peking Duck in Baltimore, hands down. Many other Chinese restaurants serve this no longer exotic dish. My first experience was at a restaurant on University near Union Memorial called 'The Mondrian House" . It was hands down the best thing I have ever eaten. When they closed, after trial and error I found another great one at Imperial Palace in Randallstown. Tons and tons of Chinese food later, I've had good Peking Duck, "meh" Peking Duck, and OMG what is this attempt at Peking Duck. But Jumbo Seafood really hits the mark on this dish. All fat is trimmed away, the skin is crispy, the meat perfectly cooked. For those of you that are not fans of P.D., the other food is very well prepared too. Their sushi is always very fresh, and fairly imaginative for a restaurant that doesn't feature it as their signature food. People complain about the age range, the size of the restaurant and similar, but anyone that knows Chinese food and enjoys Peking Duck will have a great meal at Jumbo Seafood. read more

Not recommended! We ordered a to go order on Christmas day. The person who took our order said it will take about an hour. When the time passed and we didn't get a call we called again and been informed that our order will not be ready any time soon and that we have at least another 40 min of waiting ahead of us. This was annoying and upsetting to say the least. When we came to pick up the food after almost two hours of wait from the initial order time the restaurant seemed busy but some tables were available. My favorite hybrid (American) Chinese food dish is the General Tsao's chicken. For years I have tried many carried out joints around Baltimore to try to find the best one. Last night, I ordered a large General Tsao's chicken here for pick up. I have to report, this is one of the best General Tsao's chicken I have ever had around Baltimore area. Chicken comes in big chunks/strips, breaded and fried just right. Sauce and the fried dough ratio was perfect. Chicken was white meat, and it was tender, juicy, and every bite was enjoyable, I think the Italians describe this as "Al dente". Unlike the usual carry out General Tsao, they use dark meat, heavily breaded, sometimes overly fried, and the Chicken usually has a hard chew, fiber-ish consistency, makes me wonder if they care and are they using Real chicken?. But Jumbo Seafood's General Tsao's Chicken is special, it deserves an award! Although it was 15 dollars for a large, but I really enjoyed it, so it was very worth it! This is the first thing I tried of this place, I will most definitely go back and try other stuff on the menu. One more thing to mention is that the staff there was very patient with me and the attitude over the phone was just pleasant. I didn't have a GPS and I was lost trying to find the place on my way to pick up the food. I called multiple times to try to get some clue as to where I was and I was met with a patient friendly voice. While everything we had was fine, it was fairly bland, as if prepared for the tastes of the senior citizens who were at every other table the night I went. Last evening,at 9:20 pm we *my friend and I)came to Jumbo Seafood for dinner, We checked the website and saw that they were open until 10pm. We walked in to a deserted dining room, one couple was just finishing up. We asked for a table, the "manager" Steve, said sure, then looked at his watch, and then said that the dining room was closed due to a private party coming in 10 minutes. We were surprised. There was no sign on the door indicating this, and one got the feeling that they were getting ready to close. He said we could get carry out. We declined and went down the street to another chinese restaurant which was delighted to have our business. After dinner, my friend drove by Jumbo Seafood. The story was fishy at best, and yes, just as we both suspected, the restaurant was closed and no sign of any type of private party. I called the "manager" today and was told that at the last minute, the party was moved elsewhere! Yes, I suppose it is possible, but I will let you, the reader draw your own conclusion! It is sad that the manager had to lie and refuse a good client and then to not even own up to it when called on the spot. In fact, at one point, he asked if I was trying to blackmail him! I'm still trying to figure that one out! I just can't support a blatantly dishonest man. I hope a new and honest "manager" soon takes over what is otherwise a great establishmen read more

Good Chinese food, got the beef chow fun dry style and hot and sour soup. Both were good but the chow fun was a little oily. The hot and sour soup was tasty. Not too sour like some of the other places in the area. Servers were friendly. The sorbet at the end was nice. Jumbo Seafood has some of the best Chinese food in Baltimore I've tried. I'm a huge mu shoo chicken fan, and theirs is quite excellent. The service is good, parking is easy, and there's always a free table. They also do a great take-out, and the food is pretty cheap. I would definitely recommend trying them out. read more
