The matcha was so sweet even when I ordered regular sweetness. I recommend going down a level if you like a more bitter matcha. Do no get the strawberry matcha if you only want to taste matcha with a bit of strawberry. I got it and I could taste a strawberry frappe with a subtle after taste of matcha. I loved Junbi in Hawaii so I was really excited when they opened one up in Livermore. We got the strawberry and mango matcha latte. I was so disappointed on how inconsistent the matcha color was. You can see with the mango one the matcha color was more vibrant and the strawberry one looked like it was straight up milk with a hint of matcha in it. I asked the staff to see if we can maybe fix this and he said it's because strawberry uses less puree than the mango so the strawberry one has more milk. Fine, I'll accept that. Then I saw a few other people getting the Strawberry matcha latte after me and when they mixed the drink, the matcha color was more vibrant than mine. It looked like they ordered the standard one as well (didn't add an extra shot of matcha or anything). This is very disappointing considering it's $7 a drink. read more

Apparently this is Instagram famous! I just went to try it on a whim since it looked interesting in a small town that doesn't have much going on. There were so many flavors to choose from. It was quite overwhelming. There are 2 kiosks you can order from, but I was looking at the paper menu and someone came up to help me. Good thing because I had a question about their matcha cold brew. I ended up getting their most popular drink, the guava matcha latte less sweet and less ice and it was soooooo good. Sometimes it's a miss with fruit matchas. I was informed that their purees are quite sweet so I am glad I went with the less sweet option. I also got a hojicha latte for my cousin and she did not enjoy it as much, as she described it to be too chocolatey. Now I wish this place was closer to me because I would come here weekly! I did some research when I got home and found that Junbi is available at 10 location! That's alot! I'm glad I stumbled upon this spot! read more

I didn't know how new this location was when I went there and am pleased to be an early patron. I had their strawberry chrysanthemum tea with aloe (no sweet) and loved it. Nostalgic and not sugary, with sweet little strawberry bits in it. Exactly the refreshment I needed after shopping. It was too late in the day for me to have caffeine but I will definitely try their matcha drinks next time. There are two kiosks to order from in addition to the counter with a human. Nice to see a matcha place in the tri valley, or atleast a place that specializes in matcha specifically! I went to Junbi a few times in Princeton, NJ while driving from Nyc to Six Flags NJ and really loved it. So it's cool to see them open up out here in the Bay Area! My drink was pretty good I definitely enjoyed it, was on the pricier side though unfortunately. The service is good but they seem to prioritize orders made with the servers over the iPad. It has a cute ambiance in the store with nice decor similar to the Princeton NJ location. I think they did a good job changing it to junbi from formerly being a gong cha. I definitely think junbi is much better than gong cha so I'm happy that this took over that space! I also love that I can come here and pick up matcha powder too since the next closest place to get good quality matcha powder would be like SF, SJ or Palo Alto. Haven't tried their matcha powder yet but want to as soon as I finish the one I have at home. Great to have another option in the area, I'll definitely be back to try more here! read more

Out of all of them, we thought the taro vanilla was the most unique and flavorful. Across all the drinks though, the matcha flavor was very light. The fruity flavors were good but basically only tasted like fruit and no matcha. Even the matcha latte tasted like just milk and a hint of matcha. Went here on a recommendation by a friend and it did not disappoint! The cashier recommended the Cold Tropical Refresher when I wanted a non-caffeinated drink and it was absolutely delicious! Not as sour as I was worried with the mango being an ingredient.
