Terrible experience. Was surprised to see the place was packed. Our burgers came out soggy and were obviously frozen patties from the freezer, not to mention my boyfriend's tomato slice on his burger had a huge chuck of stem on it. Fries were cold and stale. No one asked how we would like our burgers cooked, and beer was given to us in a bottle without even asking if we'd like a glass. Won't be going back. read more

Been here three times. Once alone, once with my son and once with my boyfriend and his younger children. And we just ordered takeout last night. ALL good experiences. In reading the reviews from 6-9 months ago, you'd think some folks would give a new restaurant some time to get their stuff in order and work out the kinks. Junction is a great improvement from Pomodoro's in food, staffing and atmosphere. The owner, Steve, has always been super friendly, even going out of his way to print out new kids menus so the children could color. My son loves the burgers and I'm a big fan of the chicken wings. Pizza is as authentic NY style as you can get anywhere in town. Stromboli, Calzones and chicken parmigiana are all delicious! Each time I've been, the servers have been excellent. In fact, the last time we were there we sat out back with the dogs and the waitress brought out bowls of water for them and kept those filled up too! What I love most about this new restaurant is the decorum. They've really made it feel warm and cozy and unique. All of this is evidenced by the fact that you will now have a 30 minute wait to get in the door on a weekend evening, the place is always packed! So, plan accordingly. My only criticism is the salads, while good, could use some improvement in ingredients, variety and size. Junction is one of the best in Mebane, support it and all our local businesses! read more

Was having a crappy day so I popped in for a quick but late meal (about 9:15). Didn't realize they closed at 10:00. However, not too many options in a small town. I was immediately greeted with a warm smile by Tiffany, who ended up being my waitress too. Nobody cared I was showing up near closing time. Everyone was super nice. I had a good NC beer on special and the freshest salad I've had in a while. Some hot baked potato soup and I was on my way. Well-priced also. I'm really happy I stopped in this little gem. I decided to have them cater for us and I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna, potato soup, Italian sampler appetizer, and freshly made bread. All items were very tasty, pasta dishes cooked perfectly, the right sized portion, reasonably priced, and was a hit with my guest and family. All items were super fresh and packaged very well. Friendly staff and an amazing burger (both beef and veggie) in the heart of downtown. They were super busy when we arrived on a Thursday night but they handled it all well. Good bottled beer selection (wish they had draft) and an open airy atmosphere. Really Impressed with Junction On 70. The atmosphere is welcoming and servers are friendly. The pizza was just the way I like it: cheesy, loaded with toppings and not greasy at all. The Cobb salad was huge and somewhat unique in that it had BBQ on it. They also have a good beer selection. read more

We had the Grandma's Pizza which is a cheese pizza with a fantastic garlic flavored sauce. The sauce has just the right balance of the sweet tomato and tangy garlic forward spice. We also had the lasagna. It was filled with lots of cheese and was great. The wonderful service made our meal easy to enjoy. We LOVE junction on 70!!! When I lived in Mebane, I would eat there or get takeout at least once a week!! I can't decide what is my favorite, but I tend to order the made-to-order calzones, perfectly baked pizza, okey-gooey delicious steak and cheese sub the most!!! My boyfriend (and our dog) loves the pasta dishes!!! We always enjoy our experience at Junction and on the very few times the experience was not up to par ( new staff was training) it was quickly corrected with excellent customer service!! The staff is always kind, the manager is always professional, and the owner is one of the best people you'll ever meet!!! I highly recommend Junction on 70!!! read more

Five Stars to make up for the negative reviews here written by some unhappy people....I say if you do not get what you want do not go away mad, as it is eaily rectified in the nice friendly Junction on 70! I don't get it, because we have had excellent experiences here on a number of occasions. The pizza and pasta are all made from scratch, served as soon as it was done, not a long wait, and it's hot and some of the best food for lunch and evening dining within a good hour from little sweet Mebane, a getaway from the usual urban restaurants. The view does truly include the railway tracks and yes, one or more trains do come by during our visits! It is a rather undeveloped village and quaint setting anyone would enjoy if you like unique private dining adventure in a small Southern town. It is also a crossroads for many different diverse communities in this area of N. C. . All the wines and beers were updated and in stock, and I was given a taste first of one of the wines poured by the glass. A great Chardonnay and a round of custom beers later our family and friends were happy. Because groups of families, young people, students and couples are here, I would recommend going earlier rather than later as it is still a small town, there are local school and town events going on bringing in lots of folks that are served easily yet naturally the energy level will be better within the wait staff! Some are school teachers working two jobs , others students working hard to provide really good service despite the continuous crowd that can appear in evenings. It is a real community gathering place where new people are very happily welcomed. read more

We had lunch on a Saturday while passing through Mebane (a cute little town to walk around, too). This was one of the few restaurants in the old part of town and it was one of the more reasonably priced. The decor is cute and cozy, the menu has a lot of options, and the staff is happy to make accommodations on your order. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich without bread and with a side of their homemade potato chips. The chicken was tender and the flavors were great. The chips weren't the best but I prefer home made over frozen/store bought any day. My husband ordered a bacon burger with fries and enjoyed it. We noticed the bacon was thick cut and appeared to have been freshly cooked but his fries were just average. That surprised me because they were home made, too. Overall, the food was good for the price, definitely a good spot for families, and I'd come back again. Give it a try! read more

The side salad was generous with fresh veggies. The side veggies were good. But the pork chop smelled VILE. I couldn't eat it beyond the first bite, which was bone-dry and hard. The seemingly inexperienced staff didn't not get a substitute or take $ off the bill. Since I hadn't eaten the pork chop I ordered cheesecake for dessert. We tried this place for the third time tonight...kids chicken fingers were processed meat not quality chicken tenders you would expect at this type of restaurant. The homemade chips were soggy in grease. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I've been here several times, the pizza is great, which is why I come back. The wait staff is very slow, it takes awhile to get your order taken and get drinks and get your check. The hostess I had one night was particularly rude when I asked how long the wait for a table was. The rest of the staff has always been nice and respectful, just very slow. read more

Junction on 70 has quickly become one of our favorite places to enjoy a weekend afternoon or evening. With a variety of seating (booths, tables, a cozy bar, and even a small alcove area), friendly staff, and delicious food - it fills a void Mebane has had since the A&M Grill closed many years ago. Steve and his staff work hard to make your experience enjoyable. The bar has a wide selection of beer and wine and a number of TVs. All of the dishes we've had so far have been great. The burgers are thick and juicy and their appetizers a mainstay of our visits. In spite of the recent explosion of chain restaurants in Mebane lately - Junction on 70 provides a wonderful atmosphere and down home feel. read more

1 star because the food was excellent. The customer service was HORRIBLE. Before paying for my check, I told the server she had made a mistake on the bill. She went and got a menu, came back and told us we were wrong. I then told her to look at the lunch menu that we ordered from. She then told us we were right, and that she would not make the mistake in the future, but did not remove the charge when we paid. On the way out, I gave the receipt to the manager and informed him that he the waitress had lost customers. He did say he was willing to refund the extra charge, but I told him it was not-necessary since the waitress had paid for the mistake with her tip. The last words he said as I walked out the door were "Whatever." Shame. I will not be going back. read more
